#Brightness issues in Windows 8.1

had this issue with fl studio
but lower the brightness with settings it should be fine
On the laptop I use a USB keyboard because the laptop keyboard stopped working some keys, and I don't know what shortcut I can use to lower the brightness on the USB keyboard @steep wagon
Please help <@&787033266225938472>
an external keyboard that doesn't have a button for it (or a combo like FN+F5 or whatever) can't be used. you'll have to open settings and use the slider instead
or you can buy a keyboard that has a button/combination for brightness
@trim folio Could you help me to solve the brightness problem? Because every time I run a game, the brightness is turned up to the maximum. I tried to update the drivers but still the same problem, can you help me?
I'm not sure what would cause that, probably not part of Windows OS system
What company built the laptop?
TOSHIBA
There's probably some utility program installed by Toshiba that changes brightness based on what you do or contents on the screen or something
it could also be some HDR thing, you could try disabling that
After installing Windows 10 on another drive and then removing it, the brightness problem starts with playing games and that didn't happen to me before
I don't know if I understood myself, I use google translator
@trim folio
That surely isn't a feature of Windows I've heard heard about, I think it must be either HDR (which would probably also adjust brightness) or some manufacturer utility that optimizes brightness for you
Where is the HDR to disable it?
Learn how to calibrate Windows built-in display settings for HDR video content.
Click windows 10 to match your version of windows
I dont have Windows 10 lol
okay I thought you said this problem began after installing windows 10
I had but along with Windows 8.1, then I already removed it
I can't help you at all with anything older than windows 10
So you don't help others to solve any problem in any outdated Windows?
As far as I know, it was never built to support HDR in the first place, but no I can't spend time troubleshooting unsupported systems

@trim folio One question, is it advisable to upgrade to Windows 10 LTSC 2019? Because with Windows 10 21H2 I was very slow, the toshiba model is TOSHIBA SATELLITE C50-A
it would be illegal to install LTSC, you have to have a license to use it and it's not legal to purchase as a end user, only corporate
plus your system speed/performance would be identical anyway, most likely because of HDD instead of SSD
I didn't know that installing any Windows with LTSC is illegal, and it is also illegal to install Windows LTSC in a virtual machine?
@trim folio
yes, you have to have a license for it
And if I have the license taken from the internet, is it also illegal?
and instead of $139 like Windows Home license, it costs hundreds or thousands and is only allowed when you have a legal contract
yes lol, that means it was stolen license key
That amount of money should be very expensive compared to the Argentine peso.
yeah which is just yet another reason why you shouldn't try to illegally use corporate versions
So Windows normal?
yes just the one everyone gets from

@trim folio Windows 12 already has a date?
nope
Windows 11 will be supported for about 8 more years. Every version gets 10 years of support. Windows 10 ends next year
@trim folio Is it advisable to have Windows 10 together with Windows 8.1 in a dual boot?
I don't think it would cause any issue
But is it recommended?
