youll find not everything needs to be plugged in, but ill try help with getting this working for you (im in the process of building my first pc rn pending cpu replacement)
ok hey jay
@desert wraith
wanna get on call
or no
or just text
i’ll show wait

this is the third image
ahh i know nothing about SLI
I assume it has SSD and RAM in there as well (i just cant see it behind everything)
do u want me to open it from the beings
?
hood on
hood
hold*
behind*
i don’t think it’s what u wanted tho
ok let’s just assume it has those things
If it does then it should be good
About these cables, I find I'm not using them except for the rgb lighting on my CPU fan
but it doesn’t turn on that’s the problem
So I don't think they will be important
what is this thing
the white one that’s like sticks out
wait it’s loading
the one that to the side
I have no clue I'm trying to look for something similar on my pc
alr bet bro
What's it connected to
let me beck
Mines connected to my GPU but because you have 2 idk how you would go about plugging your GPUs in like this
I assume it might be power to the fan
nevermind i lied
it’s connected to the back
of the pc
behind the graphics card
they all tied together too
Half of those look like sata cords (mobo to sata drive)
ok do we need them
Only if you have sata drives
i made a huge discovery
E.g. I only have a DVD reader so I only need one cable (I use M.2 on this PC)
it plug-ins into this
What is it
I DO
hold
but there is a million of them which makes no sense
but one does plug in
it’s losing
loading
Yes. We see my Nan's PC I think she's used almost all her cables
yep that's correct
With the PC not turning on, it'll have to be something with the PSU
More powerful than mine brand new
I originally got this PSU because it had a busted 500w PSU but I'm now hoping it'll be powerful enough for me (this is a 13900k build)
OK so
One of these cables
idk shit bout computers but goodluck
Are they plugged into this part of the motherboard
Pretty much plugging into one of these on the top left of the motherboard
yeah i don’t have that one but i think it’s plugged in?
sometging is plugged in on the top
Can you send a pic of it
I assume that could be a fan
Look where it leads, then we need to find out where it'll go on the motherboard
Yes
i found the small piece where it should go
it’s kinda har fro ge tim there
hard to get in there
Yep sounds right
To even get into my PC I had to take out the CPU cooler and the GPU
(I mean what good is a CPU cooler if there's no CPU to cool)
Ok
Turn it off then plug the top GPU in with this cord
Or plug both in if you want
Damn
i only have the four square ones
It should come with the PSU so that's problematic
awesome
i think idk tho
(When connecting make sure PC power is off to avoid electrocution)
only thing i have that redeemable that
resambles
reassembles*
it isn’t plugg in oop
oops
WAIT
I FOUND ONE
COME BACK
Beautiful
And I think this one is right too maybe
i have one more of that red thing left
I can't see it too clearly
nah it didn’t plug in
Damn
Gonna hope what we have works
I'm assuming a display is connected to one of the GPUs
If so, fire up the PC
(and pray it works)
Damn
you're gonna need a total of 4 of the red ones
Do you still get this light
2 for each GPU
Someone knows better than me :)
you also seem to be missing an SLI bridge
He has an SLI bridge
I've just read sometimes SLI can be done via mobo and idk how to get it connected
I was hoping someone who knew would come help better than me eventually
yeah it can work without a bridge, but it's still recommended to use one
i have
also
do i unplug this or
unplug what?
But yes this is the SLI bridge
yes bro
not sure, where does the other end go?
no where
then yeah plug that into a GPU power
the GPUs need to have all power connectors connected
ok give me a moment
and plug in the SLI bridge too
it sits between the cards
also what are those extra smaller cards underneath each GPU?
these two
bro idk
yeah this looks correct now
except the bottom right one is not fully plugged in
make sure it clicks
but I think it should boot now
with your monitor connected to either of the cards
ah ok
the sli bridge goes over the top there to the left
wifi is just pain i need del to figure out why this SIM she sent me is being so slow
(could be router actually overheating)
lmao
SLI bridge connects these together
oh how did i not notice this
let me try
can u also
circle where it goes
and yeah I think you can probably remove those two extra cards
or wait
one is a soundcard?
¯_(ツ)_/¯
did i do it right
you can leave them in
bet
I think they're those type of extra cards with extra connectors you get with some motherboards
probably sound outputs on the top card
and like... all the legacy stuff on the bottom card
what does that even mean
don't worry about it
did i do it right
uh idk i can send u the link

its 2-way
wait we might be missing important stuff
yas
I think you need to move your cards then
fell on the floor
it only looks like it's connecting to the bottom card
how tf i do that bro i have ever owned a pc
xd
you unscrew them from the backplate, and then press a small lever on the motherboard to disconnect them
well I gotta go to sleep soon so I can't stay for long :p
that's just an extension cord
I think it's an extension cord for the CPU power cable to the motherboard
are you using the power button on the motherboard?
i mean i saw a power button there
yes bro
wiat ur smart hood on
hold
power button is red
And there is also reset
poggers
but you're gonna have to probably remove all the cards and put the GPUs in more spaced apart for the SLI bridge to fit
but that's only required to get SLI working in full speed
let’s do this tomorrow?
sure :)
bet ty
np!
i’m help
um*
it kinda turned off
when i tried to move it
oi nvm
@woeful folio when i plug in hmdi monitor it says no hmdi
but the keyboard works
i bought a usb to hdmi
I don't think that will work
you need to find a cable from the GPU itself to the monitor
I see a hdmi right there
I think the third hole in each gpu is hdmi
it might just be tight
is there more hdmi ports?
yeah top card also has one, covered with a rubber cap
wait what’s top card
I'm on phone atm so can't draw xd
but the top gpu
has two holes covered with rubber
show me this one
bet
also those extra cards
ok let me try
seem to both be extra sound cards
but you also have onboard audio on the motherboard
so you have 3 soundcards in that PC :D
yeah so no drives are plugged in
uh oh
i think
so i hat to do
hey progress at least
plug in a drive and install windows on it :)
do you have an SSD at all (or even HDD but ill kill you if you use Windows on a HDD)
it's gonna need sata cable to the motherboard and power cable from the PSU
explain
i have a data cable tjo
sata
Plug in a hard drive like you plugged in the DVD drive
what the fuck is a hard drive
they should be in the front cage part of the case, but the previous owner might have kept all the drives
the thing in the bottom front of the cage is called a drive cage
it holds all the drives
oh yeah there is only asus dvd LMAOO
it's not uncommon to sell a second hand pc without drives
I think it might be the case here
Yeah so you might need to order a new drive you you don't have one on you
(We won't talk about that here)
yes but we aren't allowed to talk about that here
LAO my bad
and you might be lucky that your motherboard has swallowed up an OEM key
i think it has it
thats pretty much the front USB ports
USB most likely
oh alr
a drive will usually be this big or a little bit smaller unless its in the motherboard
damn that’s big
it's a bit too old to have M.2 drives
so probably none of those hidden motherboard drives
ssd :) not hdd
what’s the diff
any ssd will be miles faster than any hdd
SSD is much faster
so this specs two 980tis and like i7-4960x and some fans and idk the rest
but hdd can get much larger storage for lower price
But WIndows these days (since 1903) is terribly optimized for HDDs
I'd get a WD or Samsung SSD
I'll not recommend Seagate because I want to throw that HDD thats in my PC (and also another Seagate Baracuda HDD I want to throw)
tbh Seagate isn't bad its just when it decides to die it dies without warning
that’s not good tbh
Yeah we kinda lost 4TB of family photos (most were backed up thankfully)
kingston are decent if you just need a cheap ssd
The 1TB in my PC was dead when I got the PC (like almost every other component of it)
they're not gonna win any prizes but they are reliable and cheap
cheap is a good thing
I'd also look into SP SSDs however idk too much on reliability. It's not exactly fast, probably slower than my WD Green, but it seems to handle being running 24/7
128gb SP SSD cost about $19 AUD
yeah
bet
1TB gets you reasonably far as long as you don't have a tendency to hoard 4K videos
in which case it doesn't last very long at all xd
I think my WD Green 2TB was $219 AUD
me
lmao
lots of people do xd
lets just say the desktop PC here has 3 12TB HDDs and 1 10TB HDD external drives (thats not all the drives most are near 4tb and we have so many it fills up every usb port)
