to change your BIOS from legacy to UEFI you're gonna have to reinstall Windows as well as change your partition style to GPT

if you don't do that it's gonna have trouble booting

You don't necessarily have to reinstall Windows as it will work fine using Legacy boot as long as you have UEFI with CSM enabled

Yes you do. because you have to convert your drive partition style from MBR to GPT, and to do that you need to wipe the entire drive clean
