I used to use microsoft edge a few years ago, but I've used chrome for a while and now opera gx, but windows thinks its fine to just place microsoft edge shortcuts on my desktop. (It's placed a total of 4 shortcuts on my desktop in the span of 2 weeks) Is there a way to disable this behavior?

that's not the same microsoft edge browser you knew. right now, it's far better than chrome

#

and it doesn't need permission to put its icon on desktop just like Google or Apple don't ask you permission to put their icons on the desktop or home pages of phones or computers

#

Microsoft Edge is the default Windows browser, should make itself available, easily accessible and visible to the end user so that people will know it's there

my main problem with edge is that it advertises microsoft products way too much

#

opera does a teeny tiny bit of advertising on the new tab page, and chrome does none at all

#

also in my personal opinion edge is ugly compared to edge or chrome
