#Windows places Microsoft Edge shortcuts on my desktop without my consent.

that's not the same microsoft edge browser you knew. right now, it's far better than chrome
and it doesn't need permission to put its icon on desktop just like Google or Apple don't ask you permission to put their icons on the desktop or home pages of phones or computers
Microsoft Edge is the default Windows browser, should make itself available, easily accessible and visible to the end user so that people will know it's there
Maybe this works: https://www.ghacks.net/2023/01/21/how-to-block-microsoft-edge-from-creating-desktop-shortcuts/
I will try it myself ....
but they don't continue to place them on the desktop after you have deleted them multiple times.....
are you a pr rep tf?
also it looks 90% the same as the last time i opened it towards the beginning of the pandemic
my main problem with edge is that it advertises microsoft products way too much
opera does a teeny tiny bit of advertising on the new tab page, and chrome does none at all
also in my personal opinion edge is ugly compared to edge or chrome
placing it on the desktop when you install windows: 100% fine and totally necessary
placing it on the desktop 2 years after i got the computer and installed another browser: heck no
ok i have completed my rant
