#Mouse Disappeared

Have you tried another mouse?
yes
multiple mice
the mouse doesn’t appear on the screen at all
whatever mouse i use it comes up with driver error in the settings menu
Have you tried using different Port?
to be more precise, this is what i see in dm
along with driver error under the mouse in settings
keyboard stopped working now - i give up
run sfc /scannow in administrator cmd
That is not gonna do much cuz your keyboard and mouse drivers are in windows not the BIOS
I don't think .cur files recovers through SFC scan.
He will have to import the .cur file from working machine into his computer
Resetting BIOS won't fix this issue
whenever i change os type to "windows UEFI" from "other OS", my mouse and keyboard just stop working
so i know that much
toggling legacy USB doesn't work either
Why are you changing it from UEFI to legacy?
when i installed windows 11 secure boot was off automatically
so changing from "other OS" to "windows UEFI mode" turned secure boot on
but when my pc turned on, i couldnt get passed the lock screen
Ooh I got it
You can't just change Windows from legacy to UEFI like that
You actually have to install it in UEFI mode if you want to use it in UEFI mode
Changing it like that can corrupt a lot of files happened to me happened to my friend, every single program we tried to open it gave us a DLL error
Can you try turning off secure boot?
it is off
it's the boot mode
in order to load the keys, windows boot mode has to be UEFI, and not the "other OS" mode, whatever that is
otherwise, the keys wont load and i get errors like this
I see
Unfortunately that can only be fixed by installing the Windows in UEFI mode
@haughty axle What you got?
.
Why can't you just re-install the Windows in UEFI mode?
1 second
this is roughly what my bios secure boot looks like - not my pc
OS type is in windows UEFI mode
when I try to run my pc exactly how the settings are there, my USB devices just don't work
meaning i cant get out of the lock screen
but when you boot in other os you are able to use your PC just fine?
yes except secure boot is off
i cant really run modern programs
I'd recommend you to just install the windows 10 iso and reinstall windows while keeping your files.
This might be the best way to fix your issue
- Go to BIOS
- Turn off Secure Boot
- Switch OS Type to "Other OS"
- Start PC again.
- Once in Windows, download the fresh ISO file of Windows 11 from this link: https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11
- Open the link
- Scroll down till you can see "Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO)".
- Select "Windows 11 (multi-edition ISO) from drop down menu.
- Press "Download".
- Now chose your language and press "confirm".
- Now press "64-bit download" button
- Wait for the ISO to download
After that contact me
Don't worry I got it
k good
No problem
You should know that all your program settings and programs will be uinstalled
also include the step to reset bios settings to default
He already did that
Only these settings are problematic which we can fix
this may take a while to download
It's okay
okay i have the iso
Do you have a flash drive?
okay find it and plug it in your pc
Yeah you will need one sorry
i have found some but they’re no more than 1GB :/
will have to wait until tmwr before i can do anything
Okay keep me updated
I think this is for windows 11 not 10
So he could download 10 on it to run it temporarily
okay well can i just know what to do once i have the usb
so i can just do it when i get it
@plush thunder
16gb is optimal for windows 11 look at their website
