Hey

Hi
Vanwall really got left out of the poster

The NASCAR car is going to finish ahead of at least one Hypercar, I'm calling it
Would be pretty shocking if it ends up winning lmao
Lmao
They still using that outdated poster all the way from 2022
Bold of you to assume that it can finish that is
Inb4 it gets taken out by a dentist in the middle of the night, or Jimmie Johnson deciding to send the car into oblivion
With Johnson on board I'd be happy if that car can come home in one piece
It's still finishing ahead of a Hypercar if it retires after it
That's called classifying ahead, you can't say "finish" ahead if it doesn't finish at all
Also https://www.racedepartment.com/news/new-le-mans-game-coming-december-2023.1133/ this is going to be funny
Can't wait for how much a shitshow this is going to be based on MSG's past track record
what the fuck is this.
I'm curious to hear what your thought process was when you saw this news
Like do you just don't like the idea of a Le Mans videogame, or do you actually know what's going on here
Motorsport games, how they did not fold yet? π
God fucking knows
But now here we are with the Le Mans license being exclusive to them and a broken piece of shit game on the horizon
Can't forget about this one lolmao.
Oh and apparently LBJ is going to be starting this year's race
So that's kinda cool
I feel like is going to be a reused Nascar Heat 5 but with Indycar.
You know, just a random thought
7 years ago when Ford went back to Le Mans for their 50th anniversary there were BoP shenanigans involved to make them win
Now Ferrari is back to Le Mans for their 50th anniversary as well and there's also now BoP shenanigans
LeMans was someone's conspiracy all along.
I think it's more likely that there'd be BoP shenanigans to make Peugeot win, but that implies that they can finish the race
With their recent track record finishing the race is no longer an impossibility
Though I still don't think they have the pace to win lol
So here's a pop quiz
Without using external aid, what year do you think would mark the 100th running of Le Mans?
Uh, 2032 I guess...? I don't think that's the answer tbh.
2033?
Close
The race never ran in 1936 and 1940-48, so the answer is 2031
Built different (:
To be fair, the Camaro doesn't have a BoP, and it's built for top speeds
This proves that they should replace GTE with next gen cup cars (very cool) in 2024 instead of GT3 (lame)
this looks cursed
Big Chevy.
Now that I think of it, this thing might not be that fast over the course of a race
Not sure if its stint length can match that of a GT
Cadillac is the new ByKolles and Mazda
The car has spontaneously combusted three times now
π

Today, it's Alpine LMDh and Ford Mustang GT3's reveal!
<t:1686303000:F> (<t:1686303000:R>)
<t:1686308400:F> (<t:1686308400:R>)
Alpine A424 Beta revealed.
That showroom is so dark you can barely see shit
Very similar to its Oreca chassis twin though
Yeah this thing is so similar to the Acura it's uncanny
Front fenders, nose, sharkfin neck, even the goddamn vents on the sidepod
And oh yeah, Mecachrome engine.
Also is this car going to be called the "A424 release" when it actually races? lmao
It's what I'm wondering with the A290_Beta too. Probably for marketing purposes but I'm not too sure.
Proton gonna run that car in IMSA
They plan to run in WEC as well should their application go through
Very nice. I was about to read it.
Meanwhile you're sleeping on the Hybrid TGR concept car
Yea, sadly forgot about it so I'll look into it.
Hold on a fucking second
The race is tomorrow
I prepared a full gallon of coffee for nothing
You can always keep it and reheat it tomorrow
The race has always been on Saturday and Sunday
I live in asia so I never have a clue when "Saturday" and "Sunday" in other parts of the continent are
Or any other day, time and hour for that matter
Well at least I didn't get it wrong the other way and wake up to a race with 3 hours remainingπ
Well, it's your Saturday and Sunday, just early in the morning, so good luck with that
I have the same issue watching Fuji
Don't @me bro, I watch every IMSA race at midnight local time #builtdifferent
It's also not early morning but 10pm for me
So I have to wake up at 8pm π
Well, it's so early in the morning that it's actually in the evening I guess
Race <t:1686405600:R>.

RIP (x2).
End of SC.
HOUR 1 With tyre warmers enabled for this race, there will be only one formation lap, after which the race will properly take off. We wonβt be having a full dry start to the race β part of the track, mainly half the Hunaudieres straight all the way to the first chicane, is a very damp section, but it is drying out β and wouldnβt warrant teams to switch to wet weather tyres to take the start. Just as the cars take off for the formation lap, the #43 DKR LMP2 have encountered a mechanical issue, but it would get going again before the race starts. Locking out the front row, Ferrari would assume 1-2 positions going into Tertre Rouge. The #75 Porsche, locking up at the first corner made contact with the left rear side of the #8 Toyota, which would then pass it and move up to 4th place on track. With the wet conditions at the first chicane, we see many cars going off track β with the #311 AXR Cadillac losing it at the exit of the first chicane and going straight into the wall, suffering significant damage to the front of the car 23:58, but Aitken would manage to bring the car back to the pitlane, for extensive repairs 23:54. Having had slower tyre warmup, the #51 Ferrari of Calado canβt match the traction of the two Toyotas, getting passed by the #8 and #7 pair at the first chicane 23:41? And dropping to 4th. The #8 Toyota is on a hard charge, Buemi going straight past the #50 Ferrari of Nielsen and taking the lead of the race 23:57 β as a safety car was called for a standed #32 Inter Europol car, which spun itself into the gravel at the first chicane 23:51 replay. The #8 Toyota seems to already have issues, Buemi reporting on the radio that his car has no brake regen, and having to push on the pedal very hard in order to stop β but it turned out to just be a false alarm, with no actual issues happening with the car23:49. For Le Mans, during a safety car period, the pit entry would stay open until the three safety car
queues starts merging behind one safety car, getting ready for the restart. Taking the opportunity, some cars would come into the pits for a splash of fuel, and waiting for the pit exit to open β which will happen when one of the three safety car passes them 23:47, allowing these cars to form up a queue behind it. As more and more cars decide to come in to take an early fuel stop, teams have started playing around with their strategy options, as we can hear from the #51 Ferrari 23:38, and the #94 Peugeotβs radio 23:35. We see the passaround procedure in action soon β with the LMP2 cars first slowing down to let the cars behind them pass 23:29, and then the G56 stock car 23:28, and finally the GTEs, allowing the #38 and #708 to take back their lost lap 23:24. (23:25 explanation on the radio as to why they slow the LMP2s down first) The race resumes with 20 minutes remaining in the first hour, with only the #38 having stopped for fuel in the LMH field. The #7 Toyota would pass the #50 Ferrari going up into 2nd, with Toyota taking 1-2 at the front of the field 23:17. The #5 and #6 Porsches fight for 7th place, with the #5 giving its position to the #6 at the first chicane but then coming under pressure from the #93 Peugeot, almost losing its position if not for the Porscheβs top speed advantage 23:15. Calado is looking to get past his teammate in the #51 Ferrari β who feistily defends, while Buemi makes a break for it in 1st place 23:11. Toyota #7 β having started the race on soft tyres is now struggling against the Ferraris, now having got their medium tyres up to speed β Conway loses against the #50 Ferrari, while still holding back the #51 behind 23:07. The #50, having gained second place, goes into the pits to take fuel 23:05; splitting strategy, the #51 stays on the track, moving up into 2nd on the next lap 23:04. A few laps earlier, the #3 Cadillac have also pitted β an unusually short stint for an LMH car, though
itβs not shown on screen.
Alright, thanks for the recap.
the aura of porsche
For now it's still two slow zones

Been about 20 years since the incident and still don't know who crashed into the #3

"I think we've seen all we have" no we've fucking not
HOUR 2 The #13 Tower LMP2 β having a 3-minute stop and go penalty they need to serve in the race for the collision with the #777 in practice β didnβt take the penalty, The #7 Toyota seems to have used up its tyres completely, now coming under high pressure from the Porsche trio behind β then getting passed by the #75 just as the LMHs come up behind traffic, meanwhile the leader in LMP2, #48 IDEC makes its first pitstop 22:57 β hence the #36 Alpine, which made its first fuel stop under safety car, would take the lead of its class for now, until it comes in for a stop a few laps later 22:49. Buemi, preserving the tyres on the #8, holds a nice gap to the #51 behind β while the #7 comes in to take fuel and medium tyres, having completed only one stint on its softs 22:51. Probably having charged a bit too hard, the #75 only has less than half as much energy left compared to its teammates β and so it comes into the pits on lap 15 22:48, together with The #8 Toyota, #2 Cadillac, #709 Glickenhaus, #93 Peugeot and the #4 Vanwall on the same lap 22:46. So Ferrari #51 now leads the field, until it comes in on the next lap, together with three Porsches, two factory cars and the #38 Jota 22:44. The #3 Cadillac thus moves into 2nd place in class, with still some laps remaining on its stint β a benefit from its early stop 22:43. Coming out of the pits, Conway again shows the potential of the Toyota #7 with its new tyres 22:41, moving past two Porsches in quick succession 22:40. The battle for 4th in class is between the #51 Ferrari and #2 Cadillac, Calado holding off Bamber going into the second chicane 22:38. Just two positions back, the #7 Toyota has made its way past another Porsche, now just behind the #6 Porsche. As the #311 AXR Cadillac goes back out on track, thereβs been a huge upset in the GTE class β the #33 Corvette is now in the garage with a right from damper issue 22:34. On lap 19, the #14 Nielsen LMP2 lost it on

Here's the rest of the 2nd hour
Nice tyre marks
SO many yellow flags
What the FUCK are the LMP2 and GTE cars doing
Suddenly eurosport starts showing tennis instead of the race...
too spoiled with F1TV.
Well, you can also get WEC TV
The free TV feed here has a low framerate, it's annoying to watch
I'll probably invest in a WEC TV subscription next year
Or be like me and watch on WEC's totally official Russian broadcast centre at vk.com π³
I can't create an account on VK, I'm in Western Europe
You don't need one
Catch up on the totally official WEC Russian division at vk.com/fia_wec
Finally a SC

Interesting strategy gamble now
Ferrari gambling with slicks

Soon this server's automod is gonna ban me I'm sure
reporting them as false flags
Also a look at the strategy in the LMH field
In the LMH field, #94 Peugeot, #38 Jota, #75 and #5 Porsche, #3 and #311 Cadillac, #709 Glickenhaus, #4 Vanwall 21:00 and finally the leading #50 and #51 Ferraris 20:55 have opted for wets β soon, both Toyotas, the final Porsche and Peugeots that stayed out on track β the #6 and #93 had also come in to change tyres 20:53. Cadillac and Glickenhaus were the only teams to split their strategy, the #2 and #708 having not stopped at all, still staying on slick tyres. So after everyoneβs done β or not done their pitstops, itβs the #94 Peugeot leading overall, with the #38 Jota behind, then the two Ferraris #50 and #51 that were one of the later stoppers. Still on slicks, the #2 Cadillac sits in 5th 20:49.
The #2 and #708 might win big if the rain's passed when the SC is over
I can't access VK from here due to sanctions against Russian companies

I can use it with my UK/Germany IP though
HOUR 4 In the LMH field, #94 Peugeot, #38 Jota, #75 and #5 Porsche, #3 and #311 Cadillac, #709 Glickenhaus, #4 Vanwall 21:00 and finally the leading #50 and #51 Ferraris 20:55 have opted for wets β soon, both Toyotas, the final Porsche and Peugeots that stayed out on track β the #6 and #93 had also come in to change tyres 20:53. Cadillac and Glickenhaus were the only teams to split their strategy, the #2 and #708 having not stopped at all, still staying on slick tyres. So after everyoneβs done β or not done their pitstops, itβs the #94 Peugeot leading overall, with the #38 Jota behind, then the two Ferraris #50 and #51 that stopped later than them. Still on slicks, the #2 Cadillac sits in 5th 20:49. The #28 Jota, having not stopped to take wets, is now in the lead of the LMP2 class, while the GTE lead belongs to the #54 AF Corse. Unfortunately I canβt track the pit strategy in all three classes at once β they also werenβt given much screen time on the broadcast. If the race graphics or timing screen could show what tyres the cars are equipped with, then it would come in very handy in such a situation. Half an hour behind the safety car later, the track is already starting to dry out β teams that switched to wets earlier are now going back to the pits for slicks before the pit entry closes for the safety car merge. Starting with the #93 Peugeot, then the #5 Porsche, the #4 Vanwall on lap 43 20:21, then the #38 Jota, both Ferraris come in on the next lap, together with the #2 Cadillac β which jumped both Ferraris that had a bad pitstop 20:17. Vergne β having just gotten in the #93 Peugeot, spun the #93 Peugeot coming out of Mulsanne corner on his outlap and got stuck in the gravel 20:15, the car having to be recovered by a crane 20:10, an impatient Vergne telling the recovery workers to speed up β but it would still end up a lap down as it gets going again. The second safety car period is finally coming to an end after
the second hour, as the field is starting to get ready for the wave around, which was delayed by the recovery of the #93 Peugeot, which is now two laps down 20:00. The #708, due to not needing to pit to switch back to dry tyres, has now overtaken the LMP2 field again, overcoming its deficit from stopping for repairs earlier.
An entire hour and more spent behind SC due to rain
if you try using the markdown format like headers and stuff, does it still flag it?
I have no clue, I've just used the codeblock so far
HOUR 5 10 minutes into the 5th hour, and the passaround procedure has finally started 19:51. In GTEAm, the #33 Corvette wouldnβt be getting a passaround despite being a lap down β due to them being stuck behind the class leader. The Corvette team believes that the cause for this is the GTE class leaders β that pitted some time earlier were released too early and ended up behind the wrong safety car queue 19:47. As the race goes green again, some cars in LMH that are still on the wet tyres - #6 Porsche, #7 and #8 Toyota, #3 Cadillac and #708 Glickenhaus comes in to switch to dry tyres 19:41. The #38 Jota immediately passes the #75 Porsche and then the #94 Peugeot into the lead 19:40, while just behind itβs two Ferraris, two Porsches and a Cadillac in a scramble. The #94 Peugeot which led the restart is still on wet tyres, and as a result is rapidly losing ground 19:38, pitting on the end of its lap - lap 50, coming out in 7th place 19:36. A #36 Alpine had spun itself into the barriers, briefly calling out a yellow flag before the car gets moving again 19:37. Currently in 8th, the #8 Toyota is under pressure from the #6 Porsche of Estre 19:34, while the #311 spins itself on the kerbs going into the first chicane on the Hunaudieres 19:32 replay. The #3 Cadillac had gotten a 1-min stop and go penalty for a pitstop infringement, serving it on lap 51. Having made a mistake and running wide on the exit of Porsche curves, the #5 Porsche lost 2nd place to the #50 Ferrari, while knocking a billboard on the middle of the track, causing a slow zone being called at that section 19:30. Ye, taking advantage of the fighting behind him, extends the #38 Jotaβs lead to 8 seconds 19:28. While the #51 looks around the outside of the #5 Porsche for a pass 19:27, The #6 β which had lost its position to the #8 earlier, has now gotten a right rear puncture, having to limp back to the pits and losing a lap 19:26. Further trouble for the
factory Porsches β as the #5 makes another mistake on the first Hunaudieres chicane, now also losing its place to the #51 Ferrari, dropping down to 4th 19:25. That wasnβt the end of the #5βs problems β it had also passed the #100 Walkenhorst GTE Ferrari under safety car, getting a drive through penalty as a result. The #28 Jota continues its lead in the LMP2 class, with the #80 AF Corse and #34 Inter Europol battles over 2nd place 19:16. The #54 AF Corse now sits in the lead of the GTE class with a 5-second gap to the #911 Proton in 2nd, while a battle for 3rd in class is going on between the #85 Iron Dames Porsche and #72 TF Sport Aston Martin 19:15. A #74 Kessel GTE Ferrari understeered into the barriers 19:12. Having done so well to keep the #38 in the lead of the race since the safety car restart, Ye had binned the car on the exit of the Porsche curves, shedding the entire rear bodywork assembly off the Porsche β the silver lining is that the car is still at least in shape to come back to the pits 19:07. An FCY was called as the marshalls clear the scattered debris on track β and thus itβs the Ferraris moving up into the lead of the race, though they would need to come in again soon, with both cars nearly running on fumes 19:02.
i mean its unreadable wall of text
that is why it triggers the filter. It's flood. Though it is on topic here π
Lmao
BoP really gave that poor ByKolles too little power
They're like 10kph down on every other LMH top speed
HOUR 6 Just as the race goes green again, the two Ferraris, #51 ahead of #50, come into the pits, going out 5th and 6th in class 19:00. The #75 Porsche β the only Porsche that hasnβt had an issue in the past hour, is now in the lead of the race. Toyota is now shuffled back up the order, the #8 18:57 and then the #7 making quick work of the #94 Peugeot β which is on its in lap 18:55 β and goes up to 2nd and 3rd in class. Tthe #41 WRT now leads the LMP2 class β the ex-leader #28 Jota had pitted and is now in 3rd 18:54, but it is still in the net lead of the class, and will be back in the lead as the two cars in front of it pit a few laps later 18:48. The #8 Toyota on soft tyres is chasing down the #75 Porsche wearing hards for position, though the Porsche would go one lap further on fuel 18:51. As the repaired #38 Jota goes back out on track after 20 minutes of repairs, the #5 Porsche has pulled up on the side of the track, though it would resume soon after 18:47. As the #75 Porsche pits, Ferrari shuffles back into the lead of the race, now #50 ahead of #51, with the #94 Peugeot in 3rd and #2 Cadillac in 4th 18:43. Having previously been at the front of the GTE pack, the #72 TF Sport Aston Martin collided with a wall at the Porsche curves, almost taking out the #51 Ferrari LMH 18:40 and spinning off track, calling out a slow zone as the car is stranded on the side of the track 18:37. The #75 Porsche, barely making it to the slow zone speed limit, almost goes into the side of the 5th place sitting #7 Toyota 18:34. The #708 Glickenhaus, serving a 5min stop and go penalty for its collision with the #43 DKR LMP2 earlier, drops back to 13th in class, last LMH ahead of the LMP2 field 18:32. The slow zone at the Porsche curves has been cleared halfway through the 6th hour on lap 67. The two Ferraris had swapped positions, now #51 ahead of the #50 18:24. The #7 Toyota has also made their way past the #75 Porsche, the Toyota
duo now in 5th and 6th place 18:21. The race has relatively calmed down as the sun starts to set; the #51 Ferrari comes in on lap 71, and then the #50 and #94 on lap 72 18:10. Toyota #8 and #7 moves up into first and second with 10 minutes remaining to the end of the 6th hour 18:07. The #709 Glickenhaus β that had run a troublefree race so far had ran into issues. Having just came out of the pits, the left front wheel got loose and collapsed under the car, with it now having to crawl slowly back to the pits 18:00 replay. Toyota had a brief kerfuffle coming into the pits, with the #7 being held back for a few seconds 18:01.
HOUR 7 So, for the past two or so hours, the current strategy at the front of the LMH field is the #50 and #51 Ferraris stopping first at the start of every hour, then the #94 Peugeot and #2 Cadillac at around roughly the same time; Then itβs the #7 and #8 Toyotas that are the next to stop, with the #75 Porsche being able to stop a few laps later than them 17:57. Hence, Ferrari circulates back into the lead at the start of the 7th hour. But thatβs the end to this pit cycle arrangement as rain has visited the race again, with it now pouring down everywhere around the track, Porsche curves and Dunlop chicane 17:54. This has caused complications for a number of teams, for example the LMP2 front running #28 Jota, spinning into a wall and damaging the right front corner, dropping out of lead contention 17:50 replay. Most LMHs immediately came in to take on wet tyres, with some choosing to stay out for the first few laps after rain fell β for example the #38 Jota Porsche, #51 Ferrari and #7 Toyota, but they all ended up coming in for wets after almost visiting the barriers at the Porsche curves 17:48. The situation isnβt much better in LMP2 and GTE either, with a bunch of cars either going off or running into someone whoβs gone off 17:46 replay 17:43 Prema #9 damaged back to garage. After everyone had made their stops, the #51 Ferrari is at the front of the field with a nearly 30 second lead, with the #94 Peugeot in 2nd and #2 Cadillac in 3rd 17:40- which would soon get overtaken by the #7 and drop down to 4th. The #50 Ferrari had lost out due to the rain, having to stop twice in quick succession β it sits in 5th ahead of the #8 Toyota 17:38. The #709 Glickenhaus, 12th in class had gotten a 1-min stop and go penalty for a technical infringement. Thereβs trouble for many LMH cars on the now treacherous circuit, either going off track or locking up and spinning around 17:34. #34 Inter Europol now leads the LMP2 class with
#23 United and #41 WRT behind, while the #85 Iron Dames leads in GTE, ahead of the #56 AO Racing Porsche. As everyone has mostly sorted themselves out, the #51 Ferrari piloted by Pier Guidi now has a lead of a minute, halfway through the 7th hour 17:29. Conditions have improved around most of the circuit, as the rain has cleared out β though thereβs still quite a lot of water on some parts of the track 17:26 radio. The #80 AF Corse LMP2 chases down the #35 Alpine for 4th in class, the two occasionally running slightly off the circuit 17:19. The #75 β previously the highest placed Porsche in LMH has stopped dead on track at Tertre Rouge on lap 85 17:12 β the car would move at a pace of around 5 kilometres per hour in the next 10 minutes 17:07.
Just documenting this
94 was fighting for 5th in the 3rd hour before rain fell
Then they come in the pits with the 38 75 and 5, being the earliest cars to stop for wets during the 1h SC period
After everyone stopped (or not stopped) for wets the #94 leads overall
Then the 38 binned it, 5 made mistakes and got penalties, and 75 didn't have good rain pace and dropped back gradually
So the 94 has been at the top of the class since the 1h SC restart, and its pace kept it there
Then among the cars that were in contention the #50 had bad luck when the second rain came and lost a few positions
So the only car that is in front of the 94 is the #51 which had literally a perfect run
And the 94 stayed in 2nd all the way until now
You're insane for keeping up with it so much.
Gotta make sure the youtube video gets every detail possible
All the "recaps" and "highlights" online are literally embarassing to watch
This is also a good place to document misc stuff that I can't put in my script because there's no activity and stuff doesn't get drowned out
I would say he's built different.
OH NO A TOYOTA

HOUR 8 The #50 Ferrari had made up one position during its last stint in the wet, overtaking the #2 Cadillac and going up into 4th place. Then it would pit on lap 87, being the first car to stop in the LMHsβ current pit cycle β taking slicks and coming out in 6th 17:02. Next LMH to stop is the #93 Peugeot on lap 88, then the #94 Peugeot, #2 Cadillac and #709 Glickenhaus on lap 89 16:55. The top 3 in the LMP2 class pits on the same lap 16:55, still #34 Inter Europol out in front and #23 United with $41 WRT following behind. #51 Ferrari comes in on lap 90, leaving the pits still in the lead 16:53. The #7 Toyota, #5 Porsche and #3 Cadillac are the next to pit on the same lap 16:52, then itβs the #8 coming in a while later, all these cars switching from their wet tyres to slicks 16:50. The #4 Vanwall of Guerrieri spun the car going into the esses on lap 94 16:38, calling out a slow zone at that section when the carβs being craned back onto the track 16:35. After some shuffling of positions in the GTE class, itβs the #56 AO Racing Porsche β that has been a front runner since the first hour, leading the class by a minute to the #85 Iron Dames Porsche. The next car in the GTE field is the #54 AF Corse, a minute behind the #85 16:28. Exceeding many viewersβ expectations, the Garage 56 stock car has been running completely trouble free so far, Button and Johnson having put in very consistent performances so far 16:20. The #311 AXR Cadillac had a spot of bother at the first Hunaudieres chicane, running off and continuing back to the pits 16:18. The #50 Ferrari is in the pits with around 10 minutes remaining to the 8th hour on lap 100 16:12, then itβs the #94 Peugeot 16:09 and #2 Cadillac on lap 101 16:08, then the #6 and #709 16:06, and then the #51 Ferrari and #7 Toyota on lap 102 16:05. The #94 Peugeot moves past the #51 Ferrari on lap 102 and takes the overall lead. The #51 would lose not just 1, but 3 positions on its
outlap β Pier Guidi spun it going into the first Hunaudieres chicane, in avoidance of the #911 Proton GTE Porsche who spun in front of him 16:02 replay.

Safety car.
HOUR 9 Massive drama had befallen the race just at the start of the 9th hour β as a multi car incident involving one of the overall win contenders unfolded β going into a slow zone, the #66 JMW GTE Ferrari was sent flying from behind, while the #35 Alpine LMP2, taking avoidance action, hit the rear right corner of the #7 hard 15:57 replay, causing significant damage to the Toyota. As an FCY is called, the #7 would be stopped on the Hunaudieres and the engine wouldnβt start β the car does not have enough battery to come back on solely hybrid power 15:56 15:55 radio, and it would unfortunately retire 10 minutes later.

If some of you can, maybe watch the social media of the #66 JMW car, #39 Graff Racing car and #35 Alpine and see if they explain anything
I still don't know who hit the #66 from behind

In all the chaos that just unfolded, the #94 Peugeot has got a whopping 1 minute 40 second lead to the 2nd place sitting #50 Ferrari 15:44. But it would all be neutralized, as a safety car was called out to recover the stricken #7 Toyota on the side of the track 15:43. The #94 would come in the pits a few laps after the safety car was called 15:36, and it would get held at the pit exit for some time, waiting for the safety car to come through and pick them up 15:35. It goes out still in the lead, as the #50 Ferrari, #2 Cadillac, #51 Ferrari and #5 Porsche comes in on the next lap 107 β previously being off strategy, this now aligns the Cadillacβs pit cycle with the Ferrarisβ 15:32. The #2 Cadillac jumped both Ferraris in the pits β and while they were held in the pits waiting for a safety car to pick them up, the #8 Toyota overtook them 15:31 β so itβs the #94 Peugeot leading overall, the #8 Toyota in 2nd a lap down, then the #2 Cadillac in 3rd, followed by the two Ferraris #50 and #51 15:26. The #85 Iron Dames Porsche has inherited the GTE class lead, with the #54 AF Corse in 2nd 15:15; the #56 AO Racing Porsche, previously the class leader, rejoined the race behind the wrong safety car queue after they pitted β so it was called into the pits again and then lost two positions waiting at the pit exit
15:13. Meanwhile, over the communications channel in the #3 Cadillac: 15:13,

HOUR 10 The passaround commences at the start of the 10th hour 14:59, as the curtains close in the Toyota #7 garage 14:58. The #41 WRT now leads the LMP2 field, with #34 Inter Europol behind. We see the #80 AF Corse LMP2 going very slow on the track 14:47, and then going back into the pits. The race goes green on lap 115 after a quarter past the 10th hour 14:42 β the #3 of Bourdais passes the #94 on lap 1 and gets back one lost lap. Then the #8 Toyota made quick work of the #94 Peugeot 14:40, moving up into the lead of the race. The #2 Cadillac had also lost its position to the two Ferraris, going down into 5th place 14:38 replay. Having recovered back to 5th in class from its spin and crash at the start of hour 7, the #28 Jota LMP2 had been collected by another LMP2 β the #65 Panis Racing car in 3rd place of its class 14:36. The top Aston Martin in GTE - #25 Oman had gotten a drive through penalty for passing under safety car β though the gaps in the class is so large that it didnβt even lose any positions, still staying in 5th of its class. The #5 Porsche goes into the garage with a water leak 14:29, while the Ferraris have been trying to catch up to the #94 Peugeot β as the #51 moves past the #50 up into 3rd 14:28. An FCY was called on lap 120 for a destroyed #63 Prema LMP2 as it loses control and crashes at the Porsche curves 14:21 - The #8 Toyota came to the pits for fuel on the same lap 14:19 - though they needed full service and a driver change on the car, but they could only take some fuel due to to sudden FCY. Having ran nearly 10 hours without issue, the 3rd place sitting #50 Ferrari came into the pits during the FCY and got wheeled back to the garage 14:09. Then we see a spin from the #311 AXR Cadillac on the start finish straight β nothing major 14:07. The race would go green soon after, with the #51 quickly passing the #94 β and then going back into the pits on the same lap, taking full service and a
driver change 14:04. The #8 also came into the pits to finish the full service itβs due, and jumped the #51 Ferrari, coming out in 3rd place 14:02.
"02:18 FCY UNDER INVESTIGATION"
No reason whatsoever
Just calls an fcy for 4 minutes
The fucking WEC timing died
RIP Peugeot's hopes
They can still make top 5 if they don't lose too many laps in the pitlane
The only cars behind them are SCG and a bunch of cars that had issues and went into the garage before
A win was never possible since the race went dry
HOUR 12 The slow zone got removed relatively quickly as the #32 got going again, and we see the #51 Ferrari closing up to the #8 of Buemi 12:54. The #94 Peugeot, currently some seconds back from the #51, the #94 Peugeot would get a 5 second penalty added to its next pitstop 12:51. Unfortunately, the car ran wide at the first Hunaudieres chicane on the next lap, going into the barriers and damaging its front end β and it would make its way back to the pits, but that the end of Peugeotβs time at the front of the pack. Meanwhile, a wheel had escaped the #45 Crowdstrike APR LMP2 car 12:48. Just as it comes into the pitlane, the #94 starts ripping itself apart β it would then be wheeled back to the garage 12:43. So only 3 cars remained on the lead lap, the #8 Toyota, #51 Ferrari and #2 Cadillac 12:36. Coming in the pits on lap 145 are the #6 Porsche and #3 Cadillac 12:33, Then the leaders #8 and #51 on lap 146, the Ferrari taking fuel only and the Toyota taking fuel and new tyres 12:30 β and so the #51 jumps the #8 into the net race lead, as the #2 would comes in on lap 148 and drop back to 3rd 12:23, and then the #8 Toyota got itself a 5 second time penalty added to its next stop for a pit stop infringement. The #94 is back out on track after about half an hour, going 9 laps down to 23rd overall and 11th in class 12:18.
Literally nothing is happening and I forgot to post π
HOUR 13 The #8 of Buemi has been slowly catching up to the #51 Ferrari in front in the past hour 11:57. Then the gap quickly minimized after the start of the 13th hour, Toyota eventually making the pass into the lead on lap 156, towards the end of their stint 11:53. The #51 Ferrari and #8 Toyota comes in on lap 157, with Buemi having created a gap of around 2 seconds to the Ferrari behind β both cars have changed drivers, while the #51 had took new tyres while the #8 havenβt - so the #8 would still come out of the pits 12 seconds ahead of the #51 11:47. Despite not being shown on camera, the #4 Vanwall seems to have ran into trouble again β the car has been in the pits for more than 22 minutes, now losing 6 laps to the #38 Jota in class β itβs now just one lap ahead of the #311 AXR Cadillac. In GTE, the #57 Kessel Ferrari had slowly moved up to the front of the pack 11:24, with the usual frontrunners - #85 Iron Dames Porsche, #25 Oman Aston Martin, and #54 AF Corse still occupying the top 5. The #47 Cool Racing LMP2, one of the frontrunners in the LMP2 class, had went off at the Porsche curves and significantly damaged the left side 11:19 replay. It can still make it back to the pits, as a slow zone is being called at the Porsche curves. The #3 Cadillac and #6 Porsche comes in on lap 169 11:06, while the #2 got 5 seconds added to its next stop for a pit stop infringement 11:05. According to schedule, #8 and #51 is in the pits, the #8 still coming out in front 11:02. The #4 Vanwall is spending an unusually long time in the pits again, the car likely experiencing the same unknown issue thatβs been haunting it all race. HOUR 14 The #2 Cadillac comes in at the start of hour 14 on lap 171. 10:57 At the front of the LMH pack, the order have mostly stay stationary for the past hour β the #8 is still ahead of the #51 with the latter not catching but not dropping back either; #2 is still in 3rd, the last car on the lead
lap β then itβs the #6 ahead of the #3, #93 and two Glickenhaus cars 10:54. The #5 and #50 is still at the back of the top LMH queue, while the #94 Peugeot is still making its way up the field. The LMP2 class is led by the #34 Inter Europol, while the #30 Duqueine and #65 Panis Racing in 2nd and 3rd are relatively close together β thereβs a gap of around a second and a half between the two 10:44. The #51 Ferrari is now finally starting to close the gap to the #8 Toyota after almost an hour and a half. Fabio Scherer, in the class leading #34 LMP2, has apparently had his foot ran over by the #33 Corvette some time during the race 10:20 β which we see having a spin navigating around lapped car. 10:16 The #8 and #51 comes into the pits, with Pier Guidi now back in the Ferrari, coming out around 20 seconds behind the leading Toyota 10:17. The #777 DβStation GTE Aston Martin is going slowly on the Hunaudieres, then coming to a stop 10:13. So, a slow zone has been called while a course vehicle comes to recover the car 10:10. After the track goes green again, the #51 Ferrari is now 40 seconds behind the #8 Toyota, likely due to being caught in the slow zone while the #8 isnβt 10:02.
HOUR 15 Looking to move into the top 5 of the GTE field is the #86 GR Racing Porsche 10:00, making the pass on lap 187 9:59. Just behind them, the #77 Proton Porsche spins into the wall going into Indianapolis, calling out a slow zone 9:59. So the #33 Corvette moves up another place, now at 7th in class β a minute behind the top 6 in the GTE field 9:52. Having spent an entire hour and change in the garage the #4 Vanwall is back out on track again, the car now 19 laps down, last of the LMHs still running. The slow zone at Indianapolis would last for quite a long time, with the repair job on the barriers going longer than expected 9:41. Currently challenging for a podium is the #48 IDEC β the car having qualified on pole has been in the top 5 for most of the race, and now itβs less than a second behind the #30 Duqueine in 3rd 9:39. The both of them would come into the pits on lap 193, with the #48 almost trying to cut the pit entry 9:30. The #2 Cadillac had fallen off the lead lap, now 3 minute 20 seconds behind the #51 Ferrari β which seems to be catching the #8 Toyota now, the gap going down to 34 seconds from around 40 seconds 9:23. Another slow zone was called as the #80 AF Corse clipped the kerb at the Porsche curves and went into the wall out of the race 9:21. On the same lap, the #8 and #51 comes into the pits, the Toyota taking a driver change, fuel and new tyres, while the Ferrari only took fuel, hence bringing the gap to the Toyota down to less than 20 seconds 9:20. In LMP2 we see the #34 Inter Europol of Scherer β with a broken left foot, chasing the class leading #41 WRT of Kubica β which served its 10 second penalty for colliding with the #3 Cadillac earlier 9:16, while the #48 finally passes the #30 to move up into 3rd in class at the second Hunaudieres chicane on lap 196 9:13. The #34 passes the #41 to move up into the class lead on lap 197 9:10. The #86 GR Racing GTE Porsche makes up another position,
passing the #25 ORT Aston Martin, moving up to 4th in class 9:09. The #94 Peugeot had caught up to the back of the top LMH pack, having passed all the LMP2s 9:05 β The #51 is also closing the gap to the #8, despite being on older tyres 9:02; as the full course goes green again.
Bruh.
Estre has been trying way too hard to catch the #3
HOUR 16 The #86 GR Racing Porsche has been on an exceptional change in the GTE field, passing the #54 AF Corse on lap 201, then successfully holding off its defense and keeping the 2nd place 8:54. The #51 Ferrari is now catching rapidly, Pier Guidi setting 2-second faster laptimes than Hirakawa in front of him β the gap is now down to 7 seconds and still descending 8:51. Meanwhile the #6 Porsche had an off an Indianapolis, making light contact with the barriers 8:49. The #4 Vanwall has finally conked out on the side of the track seemingly with a powertrain issue β which has likely haunted them all race, with smoke pouring out the right exhaust of the car 8:45. Now the #51, on old tyres has caught up even further to the #8 on tyres that are a stint newer β by lap 206 the gap has gone down to nothing 8:34 as the duo, on the same fuel strategy, come into the pits. The Ferrari would take a new driver, fuel and tyres 8:32, while the #8 would take fuel and a new nose 8:32. The Toyota is now leaving the pits 5 seconds down from the #51 8:30 β and that gap would increase even further in the next half an hour. The #6 Porsche, having had a slow puncture and also a 10 second pitstop infringement penalty, drops down a position in the pits β The #3 Cadillac of Bourdais goes up into 4th overall behind its podium sitting teammate, the #2 car 8:25. The #6 and #3 would unlap themselves from the #2 in the following laps 8:20 β the Porsche fighting for its lost position would be able to go one lap further on fuel than the Cadillac, despite being currently held back. Estre still couldnβt get the #6 past Bourdaisβ #3 in front, no matter how hard he tries 8:11 β in fact the Porsche got stuck behind the #708 Glickenhaus that the #3 passed earlier, and Estre couldnβt pass it for a good two laps because the Glickenhaus is just a few kilometers faster in a straight line 8:08. Bourdaisβs #3 Cadillac is currently the fastest car on track,
setting laptimes that are around half a second faster than the leaders. The #33 Corvette is making its way further up the field, now up to 4th in class, passing the #25 Oman Aston Martin 8:02.
The funniest thing is that the #6 would have passed the 3 anyways even if it had just stayed within range
They had one lap longer worth of fuel
Fucking Estre
Still, that moment was stinks.
HOUR 17 Estre has been pushing harder and harder every lap trying to catch the #3, and finally lost the car on lap 216, almost taking out an LMP2 before going off into the wall at the Porsche curves, losing 40 seconds and damaging the car in the process. 7:58 The #3 would pit on lap 218, taking some extra time to clear some debris 7:53?. The #6, according to its scheduled fuel strategy would come in one lap later than the #3 β if Estre had kept it out of the barriers then he mightβve been able to pass the Cadillac by now β but the car is now being wheeled back to the garage 7:49. And so the #93 Peugeot would officially make it into the top 5. Still running the same fuel strategy, the #51 and #8 comes in for their scheduled refill β the Toyota, having also taken new tyres comes out of the pits 25 seconds behind the Ferrari which took fuel only 7:48. Hirakawa reports on the radio that heβs now feeling much better with the new tyres on the car β and itβs showing, with the gap to the Ferrari in front slowly closing in. In GTE, itβs now the #85 Iron Dames fighting for the lead with the #57 Kessel as some other cars have rotated down the order β Frey, the Gold rated Porsche driver would make its way past the Bronze rated Kimura in the Ferrari 7:37. Kimura would get passed by another Pro driver, the Platinum ranked Cairoli in the #56 AO Racing a few laps later 7:32. Battling for the lead in LMP2 is also a Pro verses an Am β the #41 WRT of Kubica β a platinum - against the #34 Inter Europol of Smiechowski, a silver 7:36. Kubica made a pass off track, and had to then give it back 7:35. He would then be held back behind the #34 for quite a few laps, Smiechowski fiercely defending the class lead 7:28. But Kubica would finally make the pass for the lead, getting some help from the tow of the #2 Cadillac and moving down the inside of the Inter Europol on the second Hunaudieres chicane, on the WRTβs in lap 7:27. As the #8 Toyota
continues to close the gap to the #51 Ferrari β now down to 20 seconds, Calado in the leading Ferrari reports some vibration from the front right tyre on the radio 7:28. The #6 Porsche, still in the garage, had fallen out of the top 10, with the highest place Porsche now the #5, 8th place overall β so the two Glickenhaus cars would move up into #6th and 7th 7:22. The #708 would get a 5 second time penalty added to its next stop for a pitstop infringement. Itβs Porsche 1-2 in GTE, the Platinum ranked Cairoli in the #56 on the back of Gold ranked Frey in the #85 7:17. It wouldnβt be hard for the AO Racing car, making a pass around the outside on the run to the Hunaudieres 7:16. The #51 might be in trouble now β Calado reporting further issues with vibration over the radio 7:15 7:17 radio. Itβs lead to the #8 Toyota hasnβt shrunk however, still around 20 seconds ahead β Calado would just need to hold on for a few more laps before coming in to change the tyres 7:12. Trouble for the leading Glickenhaus #708, it ran wide on the exit of Indianapolis and spun into the barrier 7:09. The car seems to be struggling to get into reverse, now stranded on the track for a good while. It would get back going, but not troublefree β the right rear suspension is clearly damaged, the car now running at a noticeable angle 7:06. The #6 Porsche would finally come back out on the track β a small mistake that costed the car 40 seconds on track had seen it lose 40 minutes in the garage, coming out 13 laps down from the lead 7:07. The #51 and #8 come in together again, both teams changing drivers 7:04, with the Toyota leaving the pits 30 seconds behind the Ferrari again.

HOUR 18 The #708 didnβt spend a lot of time in the garage β it came out in less than 10 minutes 6:58, dropping down to 9th in class. The #33 Corvette had fought hard all race and itβs paying off β the carβs now 2nd in class, behind only the #56 AO Porsche now 6:49. But unexpectedly, an FCY got called out β not for an incident, but to clear the significant amount of pebbles on the track being kicked up by the leading #34 LMP2 earlier 6:47. The Corvette β being low on fuel as the FCY was called - would unfortunately have to take an emergency service as a result 6:42. FCY was cleared a few laps later. The #50 Ferrari in LMH and #33 Corvette in GTE had to come in for another stop 6:38, losing time as a result 6:36 β The #56 AO Porsche has also come in this time, so the #85 Iron Dames circulates back up into the lead 6:33. Toyota still isnβt looking good for the win of the race β the #8 had lost 10 seconds to the #51 in the last half an hour of their stint. Buemi reports on the radio that his tyres are completely flatspotted, which is likely contributing to its current lack of pace 6:30. On lap 242 the #94 Peugeot had came in and gotten wheeled back to the garage with an oil temperature issue 6:18. It wasnβt a series problem β the car was out again in just a few minutes, not having lost any positions. The #51 and #8 comes in together as per usual β the Toyota having ran the last few stints on softs had now switched to medium tyres; this time some cars that were off sequence β the #2 Cadillac, #93 Peugeot and #5 Porsche also came in on the same lap 6:16. We see a Glickenhaus spun at the exit of Indianapolis again, this time itβs the #709 6:15 β the car would get front end damage which the team would spend several minutes fixing in the pitlane 6:09. So this brings the #5 Porsche and #50 Ferrari up into 6th and 7th β the top 7 positions now all occupied by OEM machinery.
Oh not again.
The fucking Corvette crew is genuinely unstoppable
They are literally more dominating than Toyota this season
This is big
#51 lost 65 seconds in the pits for some reason
Now #8 is back in the lead again
Yeah, I heard it it was a faulty start.
Nice one.
Tbh that was effortless
The #8 just couldn't fight back
HOUR 19 With 6 hours remaining on the clock, Toyotaβs chances still isnβt looking good, the #8βs deficit to the leading #51 now increased to a whole minute 5:57. The #38 Jota has binned it again, the car going off at Indianapolis similar to the two Glickenhaus cars earlier and damaging its front end 5:44 β the carβs now having to use the retired #75 Porscheβs front bodywork as replacement parts 5:42. The guardrail was damaged in the incident and had to be repaired β and as a result the slow zone at Indianapolis would take longer than expected, race control says 5:41. Despite being off strategy, the #33 Corvette has finally been up into the lead of the GTE class again β together with them at the top is still the #85 Iron Dames, #25 Oman, #56 AO Racing and #54 AF Corse 5:34. Now together on the same fuel strategy in the LMH field is the #51 Ferrari, #8 Toyota, #2 Cadillac, #5 Porsche and both Peugeots #93 and #94 5:29. A huge upset at the front of the field, as the #51 Ferrari was unexpectedly held back in the pit lane for 65 extra seconds due to having some power cycle issues β their gap to the #8 Toyota is all but gone 5:28; in fact the #8 is now 5 seconds ahead in the lead, as the two come out of the pits. The race leading Toyota is on used tyres, while the #51 is on new ones β the Ferrariβs pace is frightening however, with the 5 second gap already being halved within 10 minutes since the two cars left the pits 5:19. Visiting the garage again is the #6 Porsche 5:17. Coming out of the slow zone on lap 257, the Toyota gets held back by the #45 Crowdstrike LMP2 car, with the #51 now less than half a second behind 5:14. The Ferrari made it look very easy, passing Toyota on the Hunaudieres on lap 258 and retakes its lead 5:12. Over the radio, Buemi tells his team to watch out for the removal of the slow zone, and that he doesnβt want to be in the pits when the slow zone goes out β in order to not give their rivals an
advantage 5:09. The race is back to green as we approach the end of hour 19. The #8 Toyota has quickly fallen behind again, the gap between the two cars extended to 4 and a half seconds in just 5 minutes.
Dang, +5s gap already.
2000 miles β
With 237 laps of the Circuit de la Sarthe under our belt, the #NextGenG56 has blown past the 2,000 mile mark (or 3,218 kilometers, whatever those are).
Thatβs almost 3 and a half Coca-Cola 600s π€―
Damn
Didn't know "Coca-Cola 600" is an Imperial unit now
HOUR 20 At this point, the race has mostly settled down in all classes. In GTE itβs still the usual suspects exchanging the lead β the #25 Oman, #85 Iron Dames, #56 AO Racing and the #33 Corvette 4:50. Same goes for the LMP2 field, #34 Inter Europol still leading the #41 WRT and #30 Duqueine 4:49. The top 6 in LMH except the #3 Cadillac is on the same fuel strategy, coming in on lap 267 4:41. Hartley got in the #8 Toyota, which is now 19 seconds behind the #51 Ferrari, still in the hands of Pier Guidi. In GTE and LMP2, the ranked drivers will need to complete a minimum drive time of 6 hours. So with 4 and a half hours still to go, the team that has the most drive time for their bronze drivers in GTEAm will be able to get the Pro drivers in earliest, thus winning out the most. The #33 Corvette crew has completed their bronze minimum drive time for Keating; #85 Iron Dames still has an hour with Bovy; #25 Oman still has half an hour, and #56 AO Racing has also completed their minimum drive time requirements 4:31. Meanwhile the #6 is back in the garage again for a hybrid battery change, Lotterer even getting out of the car β so it doesnβt seem like itβs going to be a quick repair for the Porsche down in 24th overall, just one place ahead of the #311 AXR Cadillac 4:26. Another Porsche β in GTE, the #911 Proton went off at Porsche curves and shunted hard into the barriers 4:23, calling out a slow zone. The car would return to the pits, where it would retire from the race 4:17. The #8 Toyota crew decided to take a strategy gamble towards the end of the hour β since they canβt match the pace of the #51 car, they only stand to lose running the same pit cycles as weβve seen in the past hours. Having been running the same fuel strategy with the #51 for multiple hours 4:08, theyβve came in on lap 275 with a third of their energy remaining, taking a fuel only pit stop during a slow zone and hoping to gain from this. They
wouldnβt end up gaining anything though β the #51 Ferrari crew immediately copied their strategy on the next lap, and even after taking full service and a driver change, they still ended up ahead of Toyota by 4 seconds β and now they not only have brand new tyres compared to the #8, they also have a new driver and can go one lap further on fuel by the end of the race 4:03, which means that Ferrari emerged from this strategy battle totally victorious.
Toyota are trying literally fucking everything now
Fucking quad stinting
HOUR 21 Just as the slow zone at the Porsche curves was removed, another slow zone was called at the first Hunaudieres chicane for the #311 AXR Cadillac and went off into the gravel 4:00. This one wouldnβt last very long β being cleared in just 5 minutes, leaving the full course green again - for less than 10 minutes, until another slow zone is called for the #57 Kessel Ferrari in the barriers 3:48. The G56 stock car, having ran a flawless race so far, had ran into gearbox trouble, going back to the garage and would stay there for quite some time. On track, the #8βs around 2 seconds behind the #51 in front, while the #50 is trying to catch and hinder it β despite being a few laps down overall, itβs just behind the #8 on track 3:42. As a result, the #8 is now dropped back from the lead again β gap now up to nearly 6 seconds, now trying to keep the #50 behind while on old tyres 3:38. Hartley ran wide and cut the Dunlop chicane on lap 284, overtaking the #56 GTE Porsche off track β though it would get away with just a warning 3:34. The #50 β having been applying pressure to the #8, is finally in the pits for its scheduled stop, leaving the Toyota out on its own again 3:28?. Another unexpected issue in the LMH field for a Peugeot, with the 5th place sitting #93 being wheeled into the garage β though it would be sent out again in record time, not even losing a lap 3:26. The #709 Glickenhaus had gotten a 30 second stop and go penalty for speeding in the pitlane β not a big deal for the car, as they would only lose one position to their teammate. The #38 Jota is also in the garage with some sort of issue β the team having just opted to stay in the garage and wait until as late as possible to go out on track again, in order to complete 70% race distance to get classified. As predicted, the #8 pits for fuel on lap 287, a lap ahead of the #51 β coming out of the pits, the Toyota is going to be 10 seconds back from the lead
3:20. The leader in LMP2, #34 Inter Europol β a good 3 minutes ahead of the next car in class, the #41 WRT - had earned itself a drive through penalty for overtaking under safety car β but it didnβt serve the penalty the next time it came in the pits, instead taking a full service as normal 3:19. It did eventually take the penalty a few laps later, coming out still in the lead, and no further penalties would seem to come its way.
finally not a Toyota win
Only took the ACO to illegally change the rules and screw them on purpose
Still time to go
HOUR 22 The #93 Peugeot had lost some parts of its nose somewhere around the track, coming in the pits to having it replaced around the start of the 22nd hour. Its teammate, the #94 got wheeled in the garage again, and would stay in for quite a while this time β the car needed to have its steering rack replaced, having encountered issues with it earlier in the race 2:59 replay. Toyota falls further down from the lead, now almost 15 seconds behind; the team, trying everything they can β is looking to have Hartley do a quadruple stint 3:00. Hartley would be down for it, but the tyres on the car wouldnβt β the car soon struggling with vibrations from its worn tyres. The #33 Corvette is now solidly in the lead of the race, 24 seconds ahead of the #85 Iron Dames 2:54 - which would finally switch to their Pro driver on lap 297, trying to chase down the leading Corvette 2:44. Back in the garage as well is the #93 Peugeot 2:54~44?, spending an unusually long time with repairs and falling out of the top 5 positions. 20 minutes later itβll be back out on track, 9th place overall and the last car in the frontrunning LMH pack. 2:20 The #8 comes in as scheduled on lap 299 2:38 β Hartley is actually quad stinting now, going out after having taken fuel and new tyres. Pitting right on the 300 lap mark then is the #51, taking fuel, driver and tyres β and still coming out 15 seconds ahead of the #8 crew 2:36. For the rest of the hour, the #8 Toyota would slowly bring that gap down to around 10 seconds 2:17 β itβs been doing mostly similar, and occasionally faster laptimes compared to the #51, but it still has a lapped car, the #50 Ferrari β which got cycled in front of them on track β just in front of them 2:03. The Toyota wouldnβt get held back much, as the #50 pitted on the same lap that the #8 had caught up to it 2:02.
Ah well fuck
Toyota can just focus on bringing it home in 2nd now
They didn't have much of a chance anyways
Where is the American truck running ?
Last hour.
HOUR 23 At the start of the penultimate hour, the #8 Toyota comes in for a stop on lap 310, HIrakawa getting in the car for his final stints 1:55. Again β itβs #51 in on the next lap β coming out 16 seconds ahead of the #8 1:51. The #48 IDEC LMP2 β having had a left rear puncture on its outlap β drops out of the top 5 of the LMP2 field; also having dropped out of the lead pack is the #65 Panis LMP2 with a battery issue. So itβs now the #36 Alpine in the top 5, together with the #31 WRT, #30 Duqueine, #41 WRT and #34 Inter Europol 1:53. Unfortunately, the #8 Toyota wouldnβt take the victory fight with the #51 Ferrari to the finish. Hirakawa locked the rear brakes and spun the car going into Arnage 1:44, damaging the Toyota and lost 3 minutes repairing it on the pitlane 1:42. Still, it gets to keep its 2nd place, as the next closest car, the #2 Cadillac is still nearly 3 minutes behind 1:36. In GTE the #33 Corvette would be taken to the end of the race in the hands of Catsburg β the crew has got this in the bag at this point - its closest rival, the #56 AO Racing Porsche is a good two and a half minutes behind 1:34. The only fight in class now would be between the #56, #85 and #25 for podium spots 1:30. The #56 made a stop some laps before the #85 and #25, thus falling down to 4th in class for now β the #25 would pass the #85 to go up into 2nd place on lap 320 1:23, and then pulling away. The #51 Ferrari is in the pits for full service and a driver change according to schedule on lap 324, towards the end of the penultimate hour 1:07. Right behind it on track, itβs a battle for 3rd in the LMP2 class between the #31 WRT and #30 Duqueine, with the former coming out on top 1:06.
Final lap.
HOUR 24 By the start of the final hour, both the #51 Ferrari and #8 Toyota have taken their final stops :56. The dust is still not settled in LMP2 or GTE β the #34 Inter Europol is being reeled in by the #41 WRT β only car still in lead contention - behind it, the gap now just down to 11 seconds and dropping β not only so, the radio on the car had also gone out, the team now having to signal to Scherer to come into the pits for its final stop :51. The #34 would eventually come in later, a lap behind the #41 WRT β and would come out in the lead of its class again :14. The #56 AO Racing Porsche has had a right rear tyre issue with 52 minutes remaining in the race β the car had taken an unscheduled stop as a result and dropped down to 7th in class, 3 laps down. The #85 Iron Dames had also dropped off the podium during an earlier pitstop cycle, and thus the #86 GR Racing Porsche would be moving up into 3rd place in class :43. The LMH field wouldnβt be short of drama in the final 30 minutes of the race. First itβs the #5 Porsche that seems to have suddenly lost power, slowing down massively coming out of the 2nd Hunaudieres chicane :29 replay, then limping its way back into the pits going back into the garage :27. Then - the #51 Ferrari comes into the pits to take some fuel for the final laps of the race :24. To everyoneβs utter surprise, the car would refuse to start again just like it had done a few hours earlier β having given everyone a massive scare, the car did manage to finally get running again after a minute β now βonlyβ around 50 seconds ahead of the #8 Toyota, which is still due for its last pitstop in the next few laps :23. The first Hunaudieres chicane claims its last victim of the race in the final 20 minutes of the race - the #709 Glickenhaus, but it wouldnβt cause a huge upset, as the car would quickly get going again :20. Coming up to the end of the race - the #38 Jota and #5 Porsche leaves the pits to
finish the race :8. Bringing it home to take the overall win is the #51 Ferrari of Pier Guidi, while the #34 Inter Europol and #33 Corvette would unsurprisingly come home to take the wins for their respective classes.
So what did I say
:)
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
What a race
I mean, the #51 made a good strategy call following the #8 I guess
Otherwise it was pretty effortless for them
No clue what even happened in P2 during the early hours
Corvette definitely deserved their win 100%
Actually interesting thought
Had the 8 not bottled it they might be able to take the win when the 51 had that issue in its last stop
Though if they hadn't bottled it they would've stayed on the back of the 51 and likely caused it to push harder and run a different strategy
Massive Toyota L
I think the 51 needed to pit, so it might still have stalled
Yeah possibly

The highest finishing Porke in this race is classed sixteenth overall
THey also entered twice as many cars as everyone else btw
Let that sink in
But they're still ahead of the 94 Peugeot
Forgot Peugeot was even a thing tbh.
That's the highest finishing Porke
Honestly Pewgot did a staggering job this race
When they debuted the car (and even as the start of the season) they were a reliability trainwreck
Now they managed to run most of the 24 hours without a single issue and only had trouble with steering in the final hours
Porke is officially the most unreliable car in this race
All 3 factory cars had catastrophic failures and the only customer that didn't binned it before the sun had even set
It's an absolute disaster
Yeah, the Peugeots were pretty impressive all things considered
Oh my god
I just discovered something that changed my entire look on this race
A fucking squirrel
Toyota lost the race due to a fucking squirrel
I can't believe this
Did it eat a squirrel? π€
Oh
It apparently happened a few hours earlier, they had to change the nose of the car and lost time
No idea if it impacted its performance other than that though
Unfortunate time loss I guess.
You don't even have a clue
Neither did I actually until I looked into it

Great livery though
bad for me
Well the McDonald's logo front and centre looks ridiculous, but other than that I think it's pretty neat
This is the ARC Bratislava livery for Le Mans
I kinda like the look.
Yeah, it looks nice IMO
COOL Racing's livery for Le Mans.
I see they're saving weight by using less paint
now that's a cool livery

Fassbender isn't even last
708 Glick is in 3rd, 709 had a turbo issue and is now 5th
Thanks for updates, I fell asleep.
A lot of stuff is happening now that the night has fallen
The 63 Corvette got a puncture and got heavily damaged, it's now dead last
The 708 Glickenhaus span and broke its suspension, it lost an entire lap but it's still in the race
The 93 Porsche (driven by Michael Fassbender) hit a wall after an LMP2 pushed it, and now it's beached in a gravel pit
The 41 Realteam LMP2 also ended up beached
Also this
Yeah, it's back in 3rd now
Oh they pit now
