Does anyone know if my friend can still join me via the Friend Pass if his free trial timer hits zero? I asked Gemini and it says he needs at least one minute left to even launch the game and join the session. Is that true? If the free trial time hits zero I couldn't play with my friend anymore??

If you own the game and invite him via Friend Pass, he can play as much as he wants, but he has to be in your crew. So he can only play when you are both in the same crew.
