It's generally more about the lack of crossplay in free roam or playlist events rather than the in-game descriptions not being clear enough.

It's advertised in that very screen, "Play with your friends across all platforms". When you word it like this, we'd naturally expect cross-platform to work everywhere, not just specific sections in the game.

i dont have screenshots but pvp, liverys and summit and the leaderbords are crossplay as far is i know

On top of that, all the advertisements about the cross-platform (as far as I can tell) had also failed to mention that cross-play will only work for PvP, leaderboards, and liveries.

Im really disappointed, there was so much hype on my part and my friends' part to play this game together, travel, explore the map, discover and have fun, and it was such a disappointment.

@limpid crown it says there "allowing you to matchmake in some multiplayer modes", which unfortunately feels like a cop-out on the details that really should've been clarified on in the first place.
