the medium medium soft thing is unnecessary but the fact that the sprint no longer influences the race starting order is good, because a sprint in baku would be a massive risk for the drivers
binning your car on saturday would mean a mostly lost race (moreso for the midfield than for redbull) which would cause drivers to not take any risks. whereas if the worst that happens is no sprint points you can definitely take a risk to get the most out of that session

This new format is a move in the right direction over the last imo. But yes to ultimately fix it, it needs to be separate from the championship in terms of cost cap, but still needs to offer championship points to really make an incentive for drivers to race each other hard during a sprint rather than just being cautious.
