Yeah that's just you. Even devs already mention "racing game" and Ubisoft also says "racing game". If it was really a "driving game" it should have more features than just driving around. TDU2. IVT's game before TC is mostly like this since they have working GPS, working roofs, working turn signals, more interactive interiors. Hell people can even get into someone's car like GTA and roam around

When they pitched TC they were going on full scale "racing" only game and removed everything related to that

The map project though the reason why its big its because they want to make the best MMO/racing type of game. Ubisoft's deal of budget didnt get the scope so they went with the "racing " theme instead so handle it properly

This is why there are models of ordinary cars just used as traffic. They can put those cars if they wanted to but this game doesn't really prioritize that

Contractor was an attempt to put more "basic" driving but oh boy it failed. Not enough interaction, nor details even compared to TDU2. And community told IVT to never do this again ever. Unless they really want to include it the first thing they do is put more interactive features

Another thing about everyday cars in a racing game that isn't iconic or historical is that manufacturers won't probably agree. Kind of reason why we only see high end or top trim models on common mainstream racing games (forza, nfs)

Taurus is already in the game complete with detailed interiors since TC1. Guess what IVT didn't put it in and just kept it like that. Probably they're wont be putting that playable at all for obvious reason that they wont be
