Teams and drivers have nothing to do with this though, you're just critiquing race control not for the right thing. There's only one thing they truly did wrong, calling for SC to come out very late. With a car parked in that particular spot they should've called It instantly instead of waiting for so long, or just red flagged entirely to erase all these complaints.

That I agree on. Red flag would have been the best option. Always is when stewards will be on track. But with it being so close to the end it wouldn't have been restarted. My issue is with the confusion and what doesn't seem to be any set rules being adhered to.

The cars that went didnt actually "unlap". The safetycar is meant to catch the leader of the race, but because it was probably already out way too late for god knows what reason, the sc caught george instead, meaning there was a whole train of cars in front of race leader. They had to let those come through first, reach the back of the queue again for fairness, abd then they could either let lapped cars pass (guaranteed max win because no time to restart) or just run it with the lapped cars in between (high chance of max win because there were 2 cars in between max and charles).
And lets be real here, the safetycar was the only reason charles even had the hopes of a chance of winning, max was like 16 seconds ahead before that point, so max didnt gain anything from this situation, just kept what was already his.
Other than the safetycar being unusually late, everything followed normal protocols
