Same ima be sad for like weeks when it’s over
I hoped that we would atleast get more content potentially like some shorts but now that Danna quit her job at Disney I doubt that'll happen
TRAILER JUST DROPPED
DA TRAILER
THAT REVEALED SO MUCH!
Like idk what they did in the human realm in thanks to them???
This was my reaction to seeing amity’s hand as a puppet 😭 and 🫠 and 🔪
Preparing for the new episode tomorrow
Yeah
Welp😭
I feel sad about the multitude of things that could’ve been way better fleshed out
The finale was rlly cool but the pacing was.. h rgh-
tho I adored the animation and would’ve loved to see the themes expanded on more if we had the time
This was ultimately the strongest episode of TOH's 3rd season, which is at least a relief. It certainly wrapped things up but still has the same issues as its predecessors - and the entire series. There's so, so many flashes of pure genius, but when the show falters it becomes really difficult to ignore.
The climactic scenes were superb, the key-animated battle in particular being a highlight, though it never reaches the dizzy heights of Spencer Wam's animation in the first season. It's still highly impactful, and Belos's fate was more than grim enough to stoke my little brain engine. He went from a horribly misused villain in S1 to a pretty imposing one by S3, which is immensely satisfying and one of the big faults it seemed the crew got wise to.
There's a lot of pointless scenes. Was the introductory dream sequence necessary? Literally not at all. Did we need so much airtime on collector's games? Na. Did characters like Raine really prove necessary to the plot? Nope, not particularly. Would that time have been better spent using the beautifully directed but horribly uneven credits sequence? Definitely.
Unfortunately the show's strongest factor - that being its understanding of relationships between characters - falls to the wayside, and the finale never really feels like it properly reunites with that factor. Sure, we get some nice scenes with folks together, but it's immensely flimsy and impactless- Luz's main character focus became almost grating when there's an entire cast that could still do with fleshing out, and the most interesting relationship in the show - that being Lumity - suffers from simply never bumping in the road, and lacking the dynamics of Amity's personality from the first season.
All the same? The story ended in a way that was satisfying, the big cataclysmic event was substantial and impressive, with plenty of sharply-designed imagery and some cool concepts, and it didn't feel like there were too many lose ends in the tapestry. Though you can really tell that there were some points the crew simply ran out of ideas.
"What will we do with Odalia after that big scene two episodes ago?"
"Eh I dunno have her looking angry."
I will miss these characters, but I do feel The Owl House has really suffered from a substantial overhype thanks to its fanbase, who I fear will proclaim this as a masterpiece when it really isn't. It's a good finale, even a great finale, but it's far from a fully polished one. I do fear that rewatches won't be as impressive as I'd like them to be.
Yea can agree, the key scenes were eye candy to watch but it felt like certain areas of time shouldnt have been used for fluff, or prolonged ooo wonder whats happening now
Also looking back on it now, as yes I rlly liked how pretty some scenes were, and its a happy ending, I think a part of me is just unsatisfied how rushed it felt and the pacing slow and fast, which sucks bc I genuinely rlly liked how it’s general direction went but it packed so much 1-100 stuff in it for it which understandable why, but felt like a whiplash
I blame disney💀
My short spoiler-free(ish) review for the episode is: Animation was good, had some neat moments, but it ultimately felt mediocre due to the school cast being largely absent. It sort of felt like how Weirdmaggedon 3 might have felt be if its focus was purely on Dipper and Mabel, with everything else being a sidethought- The main dynamics we got(other than Luz and the Collector) were already well established and didn't need a full hour long episode to conclude them. There weren't that many loose ends in terms of plot, but a lot of character arcs felt somewhat somewhat unfinished. Some of this is definitely due to time, but there are quite a few scenes where my thought was "Really, this is how decided to do this?".
I think I will largely stop caring about the finale, and the show as a whole, a few weeks from now, but it was decent.
yea can agree, it also threw in concepts we didnt get time to grasp and multiple times I found myself going “Oh ok that’s a thing now”😭
Also, more in depth spoilers ||I hate the whole Luz is given power by the titan thing. One of my least favorite events in the entire show. I think its a total 180 on what I liked about Luz's character- Luz has always been resourceful and strategic, and just having her more or less able to brute force Belos (even with help from Eda and King) is.... uhgggggg. One of my favorite scenes in the entire show is in the finale of season 2 when Luz gets the tattoo onto Belos because its so representative of her journey as a witch. This just felt like "Fun. Now the protagonist has super powers. I'm sure this win will feel well earned and satisfying." I could rant about this so much more, but I'll spare you.||
to be fair amphibia did a similar thing, albeit with more buildup
HOLY SHTI
my silly short overview bout the episode ||A happy ending I feel like im sad cause it was basically rushed boombastic side eyes disney but i am amazed how they still made it look good although the episode was packed which is understandable but like 100% not kidding you about how gorgeous the character designs and the colors and THE ANIMATION MAN. series gets a 89 out of 100 dinosaurus vv cool||
while you can blame disney to a certain extent, they still used a buncha time on unnecessary stuff lol
Yea definitely true
okay imma be real i LOVED THIS EPISODE I REALLY DID
but if they weren’t being rushed, they would have had more things answered and well, it woulda been more polished
but for now im mainly satisfied 😭 animation is high quality though cause it made me wanna set my pfp to the collector teehee
this was so good, i cannot put it into words.
it was an 8/10 imo
I agree on nearly all of these things Jam said, but I am such a sucker for a happy ending and I am such a softie for show endings 💀
I enjoyed the entire ride, and I thought that visually it was awesome to take in. I tend to focus on what's genuinely good about that finale. Imagery was spot on, even for scenes that weren't really necessary (nightmare sequence and collector saying "it's collecting time" and collected all over the place). I think this finale was almost perfect in imagery, though I'd have to agree that Eda and Lilith's fight in S1 was better animated?
I know we had a ton of characters that were pretty much sidelined in this one, but I always kinda imagined it would end up being the big three (Luz, Eda, and King). That's how the story began, it makes sense to me that it would also end in the same way.
The finale was great, I could only think of how much better it (as well as the rest of S3) could have been if the show was given the proper time and number of episodes to effectively tell the story it was going to tell. The sad reality is that it got cut short, but I think they did a really good job working with what they had.
Ultimately, no finale or episode will ever be perfect. Not Owl House, Gravity Falls or even my beloved Amphibia, but I would be a lying cabbage if I said I didn't enjoy the story it had to tell.
Will I miss the Owl House as much as I have missed Gravity Falls or Amphibia? Honestly, probably not 💀 but that does not mean it wasn't a show that I did not have fun watching. The grander lore of how the Isles worked lured me in, and I will always be a fan of Alex Hirsch voicing two hairy men

Also harpy Lilith kinda bad tho 💀
I agree with a lot of the analysis here honestly, so I won't tack on another one lolll. I loved the soundtrack though, another W for Brad Breeck
(Arin Hanson voicing the titan was a jumpscare though, that surprised me lmao)
My only nitpick is that Hunter should've been the one to kill Belos or atleast helped Luz destroy Belos
god tbh I would have loved seeing that
But he turned into Willow’s emotional support companion 😭/hj
Yeah a hundred percent, it also could of really helped with Hunters healing!
It seems like such an obvious plot move. And would have made the final confrontation seem less hollow.
was disappointed by that, totally, especially when I called it after the end of Episode 2 💀
Totally
It would've been amazing closure for him too
Not saying there's anything wrong with the ending we have, but I feel like Hunter, one of the most important people to the show's plot, was kind of pushed aside a bit
As were a bunch of other characters, but King, Eda and Luz are the main 3, so
Yeah
Hunter definitely needed some form of closure. There are ways to do this without a direct confrontation, but his relationship with Belos was never quite resolved especially given the events of the first episode of the season. The only other(main) character that really needed somthing in this episode that didn't get anything was Amity.
I honestly think that a main cast of Luz, Amity, Hunter, King, and the Collector might have worked better than the one we got, despite Eda being a main character. Nothing against Eda, but her story and relationships were already more-or-less closed with no loose ends.
this episode was surely and episode
episode/10
i liked when the person did the thing
and then did the other thing
and blew up
I think it was just a great episode in of itself just great episode, great start and great ending
just will there be more episodes or a new season i was wondering
?
It doesn't seem likely, unfortunately
There could be Owl House books but it seems like since Danna quit working with Disney
Things aren't looking too promising
Well there still some hope
You just have to believe
But it was just such a good show
I would give anything to make them give us more seasons
Also why did she stop working with Disney?
Disney tried to cancel the final series as an executive didn't believe it fit the company and it was a time of COVID trimming. Dana was naturally very irritated by this but did manage to negotiate a three-special season. Since then she's been pretty outspoken about how she and her series were treated.
But why dosen't she just start up the show back up on Netflix?
Because Netflix aren't the rights owners. When a series creator signs up to a network like Disney, Netflix, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network etc they sign away everything about the show. Disney own The Owl House much as they do Gravity Falls, Big City Greens, Star Vs etc
there is so much opportunity for a season 4
cuz the collecter mentioned the ARCHIVISTS
so they could be the main villians for season 4!
Let us not destroy the bliss brought by his ignorance.
Lmao
i meant for if it does come out
You’re not serious right💀
You... you do know what happened, right?
bro at least i have faith and optimism
