Thanks for posting in the support forums, airlocal_.!
Guidelines and First Steps:
- Please include your
se.logfile.
-# typically the log file is @%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Cosmographic\SpaceEngine\logs
-# ^ This step is not optional for most issues. If you need to know how put!p loginto the chat below and I will give you a step-by-step - Is your installation modded? Not all mod authors keep up with updates, and old or buggy mods can cause many issues, even those that may not seem related.
- Are you on the latest version? Older versions of SpaceEngine are not supported. Check your Betas tab in Steam to make sure you are on the current version.
- Have you updated your graphics drivers recently? We only test against up-to-date drivers. Old drivers can cause a plethora of issues.
- Does your PC meet the system requirements? (Windows 10, Dual core Intel i3 3rd gen / AMD FX or better, 6 GB RAM, GeForce 1050 Ti or Radeon RX 460 (4 GB)).

File paths have changed!
Most configs and saved media will now live at %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Cosmographic\SpaceEngine
The following folders will now live here:
Addons - Preferred location for non-workshop mods
Config - This is where your user configs will be stored
Logs - This is where SpaceEngine stores the output generated during runtime
Save - This is where your save (last location and time) and saved places will be stored
Screenshots - Standard and Hi-Res screenshots will be saved here
Video - Captured video will be saved here
Temporary files will now live at %appdata%\Cosmographic\SpaceEngine\
-# These files should not be modified unless we are troubleshooting an issue, and they are tucked away in %appdata% for this reason.
-# SpaceEngine will automatically move or create your config and save data in the new folder on first launch, or if the files do not exist.
lord have mercy. i gotta type %userprofile% every time i wanna get to my screenshots. tedious.
try this:
click on the folder that appears instead of the screenshot button on the bottom-right toolbar when you press Shift

You don’t need to type that every time, it’s just the name of your Windows user profile. If you type %USERPROFILE% into File Explorer, Windows automatically replaces it with your user folder. This gives programs and instructions a universal way to find the correct location without depending on default folder settings or usernames.
So unless you’ve unpinned it, your Documents folder should already appear in the top-left sidebar of File Explorer this is the user friendly way of getting there when you dont have that file path handy.
I figured it out. Well sorta. There's a screenshot folder that appeared that has the screenshots for SE. So I didn't have to type anything. The problem has been solved
if you open a folder enough times it appears in the frequently used tab or whatever, i assume thats what you mean?
i think so
You can also pin folders to that sidebar if you don't want to rely on keeping it in recents.
ah i forgot you could do that
