#Help me improve Arms raid dps

Hello, I checked some other threads here to not duplicate post but all of them seem to be personal log reviews so i decided to make my own.

Basically, I have been playing arms in PvE for 2 seasons now, and I'm having moderate success with it. I usually get to 90th percentile on logs by the end of the season but i guess that is mostly due to all the good players raiding on mythic or just not raiding at all anymore. Nevertheless, I just can't cross a certain benchmark when it comes to arms damage and im not really sure why.

Image below shows my current LOU stats for heroics and here is my log page if anyone is willing to dig deeper.
I ran my logs through https://wowanalyzer.com/ and the one thing I noticed is that I don't press my mortal strike often enough, I don't press overpower on opportunist proc often enough and I don't press execute when I should.
Now I made some weakauras for those things:

  • I use wowheads execute WA and I press it when it lights up
  • I made MS weakaura and I basically press it when its off cd (outside of execute rotation where I press it after 2 executes and 1 OP)
  • I made OP opportunist tracker WA
  • I have both Eye of Kezan and Pacemaker that I swap alongside HOC but both result in same dps (I try to use Pacemaker on fights that will last less than 5 minutes)

Even with all this, I just cant seem to get anywhere near 3M dps, and I regularly see other arms in pugs hit those numbers even with lesser gear and overall iLVL.

Anyways, I hit a brick wall and have no idea how to improve. I joined a mythic progression guild and I have all the desire and will to improve and get better but I just don't know how and that pains me.

So given all that, if any1 can check out my logs, and tell me what I can do to improve, I would very much appreciate it, but also, any tips on how to self improve are welcomed as that is what's gonna help me the most in the long run.

i looked through your logs and its not like you're underperforming in some very significant way. You said you're now using an Opportunist tracker and the SD conditions weakaura. As for the opportunist tracker, I heavily recommend getting this one with no delay instead of making one that only tracks the buff. The reason is because opportunist doesnt immediately proc as a buff the moment you reset your overpower, there's a slight delay to it.
You'll get orange logs the moment you listen to SD conditions and opportunist.

If i understood correctly then you got these weakauras very recently so just play around with those on target dummies and adhere to their conditions.

Above 35% boss hp: SD conditions weakaura Execute > Opportunist proc Overpower > Mortal Strike

35% boss hp and below: SD Conditions Weakaura Execute > Mortal Strike with 2x Executioners Precision > Opportunist Proc Overpower > Execute > Overpower

(and obviously you still wanna use cooldowns & reapply rend)

just like..yknow..practice playing with the weakauras and you'll be giga chilling. I found out that the training dummies in northern orgrimmar tend to heal up a bunch so you can use those to practice rotation outside of exe range.

Yes i just started using WAs and i dont have much logs, if any, with them. but also im getting used to them still. Thanks for the tip for orgrimmar dummies they will help. Ill use the provided OP WA and see how it goes, and obviously, practice, practice, practice 🙂

thanks for fast reply and for the help

also the rotation priority you provided is different from the one i used so i might look into that too, thanks for that
