Recently started playing Ret War Holy with some friends, all my research seemed to indicate arms has become the preferred war spec here in recent months. Since starting we have come across a fair few ret/war opponents who are almost always fury/ret instead of arms/ret. We have played up to 2k mmr so far on OCE and NA. Am i correct in thinking Arms is preferred?

They're both good. I think that Fury is probably the better overall pick especially at lower MMRs because it's just overwhelming damage all game and is generally easier to be effective with than Arms.

It's just a little susceptible to dying instantly to some cleaves, so have to be careful.

Arms cleave feels better, fury sustained single-target is nicer.

Yeah, I've preferred Fury into wizards, especially ones without a mortal strike.

Just being able to enraged regen into bloodthirst feels nicer than into a cleave with ms where I'm just dead all game.

Inversely Arms feels really nice for crushing cleaves because you just cleave so hard.

Can def play either to w/e your goal is, I just think Fury is worth playing first to see how it feels.

They nerfed infernal cascade, 2 nerfs to Triune making it useless, nerfs to kindling, nerfs to pyrokinesis, nerfs to deathborne, nerfs to blazing barrier, nerfs to barrier conduits

Mage still being tanky is because of blazing soul + shifting power resetting all cds
