So it's possible to have a little weakaura that honks when the spear is thrown, so if you aren't in cc (or have a medallion + port macro) you can avoid the spear with port
similar thing with mages and shimmer which is off global, anybody and fox, etc
You can gate to rip spear off, but the idea behind porting/blinking after spear is cast is to dodge it before it lands

fury is more fun for me @woeful solstice , you can get pretty far in all pvp modes as fury too. Played Arms from MOP - BFA so was a fun change. I just resubbed last week from 9.0 too. The top 20 warriors in 3v3 are split almost exactly 50/50 Fury/Arms so both seem pretty viable
