The pros of slayer outweigh the pros of thane

Having a near 30sec bladestorm that just does crazy insane damage in its window is vastly more valuable than thane

Thane only has the rampage and bloodthirst buff when slayer has the aoe bt proc that hits insabely hard as well (nearly just as much as the BT and even better on crit)

And bladestorm proccing the bt procs as well is just too good to give up for thane. And than req like 6 manditory talents just to even play is down bad

You can catch people offguard cause of it ofc but slayer is way more valuable in mobility and damage output

My tests for thane at its peak was 756k on dummy

While slayer was 1mil -1.1

And this is testing with 30 haste and 30 mastery base with 25% verse with frenzy

Yea im tripping some dude uses it once that knows howto play the class theyll easily book w's but at the end of the day slayer is the best choice
