So the way the hunt works or worked is that when the cast finished the dot is applied immediate, and you can reflect it. If you can't then just reflect to reduce the potency of the dot.

Parry also prevents the direct hit from dealing damage. Hard CC, too, but bolt has a travel time and fearing a DH out of hunt seems sketchy and unreliable.
