Fury pumps all of TBC. Especially with WF totem. Only thing that’s irritating is threat.
hey guys ive played a hybrid throughout my time on wow and i was wondering how you guys be just a dps or tank?
is this worth for 80g on faerlina ? how long would i use this
im using this and i got 333g
Aim for a quest item and save your money but 80g is pocket change in tbc economy so probably no worries spending that in this particular case 😊
It’s an option but very expensive. Compare to t4 and gladiator chest. I would not go for it but instead aim for macesmith for big 2h 😊
What's better for PVP? Arms Or Fury 🤔
arms no doubt
is resilience any good for tanking?
Resilience works in pve. Reduces Bosses chance to crit, same as defense. It is very efficient using resilience. @dusky ether
I'm having issues holding aggro as a prot warrior, especially when there are 4 mobs
Is this normal?
oh no im at that point do I go aldor or scryers?
im not sure if im going to tank or dps yet in raid
Is Arms Good for pve?
fury does better but depends on the comp ppl might want the 4% physical dmg buff
You've got thunderclap and cleave which only hits 2 targets
So I'd say yes
Am I supposed to be using cleave as a tank?
is slow main hand better?
K im giga confused and giga bad at classic, do i need 9% hit aaand 3 points in precision or 6% in my stats then 3 points in precision
Yes use cleave to dump rage. Other than that you need tab devastate / revenge. Thunderclap doesn't generate much threat and doesn't hit past 4 mobs. If your dps are a bunch of monkeys that just start blasting aoe as soon as you charge there is no hope.
Okay, im glad my dps are a bunch of monkeys cause i cant pull aggro off them lmfao
im a returning player, currently lvl 40 on tbc. can someone point me to a general warrior guide to relearn my rotations/talents etc?
A friend of mine is saying that the Defense stat is currently not doing anything. Is he correct or just a big dumb dumb?
It's working for me.
Okay, I figured he was full of it.
if im leveling a fresh for tbc no vanilla tier gear at all, is dw fury still the way to go with hit reduction and no hit rate?
Fury prot is dead spec and not recommended to play.
You need 9 hit total. So 6 if 3/3 precision talents. Might not show on character screen unlesss you got addon.
Fury overtook arms as recommended 1-60 leveling spec when sweeping strikes was moved to fury tree. I would recommend going for BT taking imp slam. 2h is still recommended.
Prot? As long as it’s not a dagger speed matters less. Generally fast weapon enables you to dump rage faster on heroic strike and why it’s good. While lvling and in 5man you aren’t bathing in rage so could be better with slow for that reason. Slow weapons also have more wpn dmg (the range of the dmg on tooltip) so abilities will hit harder (for example devastate). If you’re fury go 2x 1h that are “slow” so you max the weapon dmg in both hands. Will be big dmg on cleaves and whirlwinds (since WW hits with both weapons now)
Without nice-ish gear everything will be shite to begin with so fury is still better
Is the icyveins build a joke? Why the point in unbridled rage?
Is it worth getting rid of Bonereaver's Edge and Sword spec for Honed Voidaxe and axe spec?
anyone know if i can still tank dungeons while leveling if im specced arms or fury
Someone told me, you can off tank at least until sunken temple.
how much is the Blade of Misfortune worth?
For a boosted warrior how much gear would you want before tanking
as the gear they give you seems pretty bad
You can honestly tank with it you just need to take things slow
Having a mage allows you to kite melee pulls
Hello ppls. My prot warrior currently has 350 eng 300 bs armorsmith. Im thinking of dropping armor smith for enchanting or should i just keep bs at this point
So im really asking is bs bad for me as a prot warrior it doesnt look as good as i thought it would be.
guys, im just back into classic, and my question is, wichi is the best spec for 1-70 leveling? Arms or anything changed?
fury is better now, since they swapped sweeping over
best warrior professions for tbc?
Anyone got a link to best leveling talents?
i would also like to know ^
What's exact hit cap for Fury again?
does anyone have a charge/intercept macro?
how could i know if its better 2 1h weapons or 1 2h weapon for fury?
Just boosted a warrior and dont know the best talents for levelling
hey whats better for a fury warrior in tbc classic dreadtusk's fury or helboar carving blade?
Anyone knows good warrior fury one hand weapons progression from lv 43-58?
Does anyone here use Pawn addon?
literally no one here to answer any questions
We want slower 1handers as fury right?
Deciding in the ring of blood items
The fast dagger or the slow fist weapon.
Slow/slow, then I think you run fast for exe phase. But my info is dated from the first roll around
is fury or arms better in dungeons/raids?
Check the pins in this channel.
2x slow for maximum weapon damage. WW hits with both weapons now.
Play 2h to not deal with dual wield hit penalty.
If you are leveling 1-60 go 2h, 60-70 go dual wield fury.
Its a bit open. If you enjoy pvp and/or enjoy fury pve go Macesmith. Second is flexible.
9 hit for yellow hits, so 6 if you have precision talent 3/3.
Keep bs and engi. Not sure if you can swap armorsmith to macesmith but quick goggle should answer it...
Xd
Thank you sir
when should i stop using thunderfury as prot
does anyone know if we can skip epic ground mount training
and go staright for flying
straight*
You can yes (edit - nvm they changed it and you have to have it now)
I'm 90% sure you go Aldor, both for Fury and Arms
Alright, thanks alot @white echo
hi, i justh ad a debate with a guildie about two talent nodes. Prot has 1h specialization and fury has dw specialization. do those talents stack? i assume they do not but i wasnt entirely sure
because prot 1h states "eqipped one handed weapon" and dw spec in fury says only "off head weapon", so just from tooltips, the offhand weapon would get both boni (such was his argument) but i dont think this works like that
Everyone who comes to this channel to ask basic questions: join the classic warrior discord and read the pins, everything is already there.
Hey guys, how do you usually do solo content as a protection warrior (like questing)? Do you stay with 1H+shield in def stance? Or do you equip a 2h (or 2x1h) and you go berserk stance? Thanks
will berserk rage make bloodrage generate more rage?
Guys, im feeling dumb cause TBC is so diff from retail......but what are the best methods to generate rage for fury warrior? =.=
is shield only required to cast SR, or do you also need the shield equipped when the spell hits for it to trigger? ive noticed the buff remains on you even if you swap back to 2h
Getting good gear
I'm like 90% positive you can swap to a 2h and still reflect the spell. I believe you just need to have the 5 sec buff, before the cast gets off or a channel is initiated on you.
Dual wield and equip a slow MH for the fat devastates. It’s good enough kill speed tbh.
The enchants are 30 AP 10 crit vs 20 AP 15 crit. That’s the ultimate difference so it doesn’t matter late game. The biggest decision is if you use the item rewards for early game. Aldor has a 1h at exalted while Scryer does not. If you’re playing fury in raids it’s probably worth going Aldor to get one guaranteed weapon. There is also a neck from SWP patch (Shattered Sun Pendant) that provides different procs depending on Aldor or Scryer but before we know proc rates etc it’s just guessing the value. Imo that neck is also more of a catchup item than what you would ideally want anyways. Tldr: pick whatever, doesn’t matter
@gloomy crypt
Is warrior a top melee pve dps in tbc ? I really can’t remember 😂
@charred wadi OK - thank you very much for the information 🙂 Arms PvP is the main goal, but will raid a lot as well.
Theres a chestpiece for Aldor that is pretty good pre-raid, but if you dont plan on grinding rep then its sort of whatever
I chose Scryer so I dont have to wait for elevator
Do I need to go into imp thunderclap, while having thunderfury?
Question, should I stay Arms with the 2H Polearm from Ramparts, or go Fury with the Grunt Axe from Thrallmar rep for lvling? Have 4.75% hit atm.
I am once again looking into creating a viable fury prot as a spec and I don't beleive it is truly dead yet. Particularly for offtanks and dungeon groups. I was hoping to find ideas here in the discord to make it more viable. I’ve tanked SH, BM, Old Hillsbrad, and CoilfangR as Fury/Arms. The damage is incredibly spiky but it is manageable for skilled healers. The damage differences are absolutely insane (~1.5-2k DPS on aoe pulls using sweeping strikes & ~600 DPS single target). You can only get one shot if you get double parried & double crit). Also packs with 5 or more mobs can 1 shot you if they all crit at the same time.
The mitigation differences are substantial, but realistically it seems meaningless. For example as deep-prot pre-raid bis you have a 9% increased full mitigation chance, If a boss hits you 100 times that amounts to 9 additional fully mitigated hits which is insignificant IF fury allows you to kill the boss 20% faster (80 hits @ 34% full mitigation (47 mitigated hits, for the 20 hits that never happened), vs 100 hits at 43% full mitigation (43 fully mitigated hits). You take 14% less phyiscal damage so on a 1k deep prot hit as fury prot you would take 140 additional damage or ~1.5% additional effective health. This difference all but vanishes if you equip a shield. ALSO dodging an attack as a warrior is actually a negative because you don’t generate rage from a dodge making it harder to keep and hold aggro.
Very good question
As deep prot I've had to get imp thunderclap when playing with geared/good dps (and I still cant hold aggro on aoe pulls). With TF. The only way I've found to hold aggro somewhat reliably as deep prot is to also have engineering shield.
Oh I see, thanks for your response, what about a slow weapon on MH? Is it viable? (For devastate dw) And keeping TF in the offhand
I’ve been lucky since I’m usually with a frost mage, but with warlocks it’s very hard to keep it up with the Aoe
I'm still undecided on the optimal weapon setup, It seems like if deep prot is the play then your mainhand doesn't matter and you should instead try to get a high crit chance so you can hold aggro with shieldslam and revenge crits.
what race does the plate armor from tbc look the best on?
is Fury warrior good at all in TBC?
So far fury warrior is topping charts on 3-4 mob pulls. Single target is underwhelming.
Gotcha, thank you
Im not liking prot warrior at all so i am doing fury now
and so far it seems fun
Same reason I'm trying very hard to make fury prot viable again, deep port has been extremely unfun for me,
Yea, just not much i can get out of it, feels so clunky imo
but on Fury its been nice
bois is there a good guide for fury tbc ?
You need to base your numbers on heroics at this stage of the game.... and you simply won’t be doing any heroics without a shield. If you’re overhearing it won’t really matter what you are doing either. It is already established t4 content is a glorified Ubrs and and 2x onyxia once per week with minimal tank damage. Threat is also not contested with dps being in shit gear so your ultimately contributing the most by bulking up further and simply not dying. If you want to offtank in raids it’s enough to be either default arms or fury and equip a tank setup when duty calls. In heroics deep prot doesn’t only reap the benefit of more mitigation but also the added utility from many of its talents (imp disarm, imp revenge, conc blow) while not really missing out on not having sweeping strikes, flurry or enrage.
Check pins in this channel and go to the classic warrior discord for more resources
thx
Tf is shit. Threat nerfed by 60% so it ends up being a poopy low wpn dmg & dps weapon with poor stats. Suggest any stat stick and stronger weapon as offhand. Personally I’ve been going terokks nightmare with Latros for grinding.
Tf is only really good in aoe threat
Debuff Proc generates 63 threat when it jumps. Your farts in your chair will do more when you’re swinging that toothpick. In DW situation only WW and oh white hits will proc it.
Seen some warriors doing rampage build but also seen some warriors skipping rampage and going with deathwish
Is that like a gear thing or just what you Enjoy??
How hard will I fuck myself if I dont go for Lionheart in PvE as an arms warrior and instead for example just stick with Gorehowl from Malchezzar and Axe Specialization? Does anybody know how big the dps loss would be?

think i should take the 2h axe off ring of blood and do 2h arms or take the dagger and stay dw fury current weps are perd blade and stalker fang
Is there any charts how much arms will be behind fury in dps?
Or simming done by someone already
Guess I’ll just
logs are being uploaded as well, https://classic.warcraftlogs.com/zone/statistics/1007
its still rather early so things will adjust over the next couple months as people level up and gear
but also remember that arms brings blood frenzy and fury doesnt
hunters in your raid will hate you if no 4% phys
anyone have a good pvp gearing list?
Just want to know if I have any chance of parseing as arms warrior. Or is it forever support role
parsing compares you against others with your same spec
well classic was a bit weird since guilds would not bring arms due to debuff cap
so you had tank war and dps war, where all the dps warriors were fury
Yeah thats obvious. If the logs are seperated, then that opens more intresting game play for arms warriors who would not be able to compete anyhow with furies if all were clumped
If personal logs you are keen on
Is Prot Warriors with Bulwark and Warglaive a thing? I feel like it's not at all but I wanna be hopeful
Look to get two one handers. Doesnt matter what. Daggers will always be worse in most cases due to the 1.7 normalisation vs one handers 2.4
ya i just ment for leveling i hit 65 and had perd blade and another dagger just from fury proting and was wondering if it was just better to switch 2h at ring of blood then to continue with the daggers
the Ring of blood quest, is the fist weapon the better thing to pick for fury over x2 footmans longsword
or do i pick the axe?
Grab the fist weapon. It's pretty slow.
Yo, trying to setup a macro for prot. Does anyone know if /castsequence works with revenge or other procs?
Like will it skip it, or end the whole sequence and not go until I get a revenge proc?
Nvm. the sequence just waits until you get a proc
in that specific case i guess it doesnt matter. i have to say dual wield fury will perform the best for 60-70 stretch regardless of overall gear. not having SS kills arms for me and fury has just too much nice in it now for flexible leveling (questing, grinding, dungeons, tanking).
Ya well I just took the axe went down the tree to MS then the rest into fury down to SS
So you just miss out on improved MS and the last spec of tree
And get most everything in fury minus flurry till 70
whatever works end of the day
Question, does Lionheart Blade lose it's enchant if it's upgraded?
is there a section for recruitment>
#promotion channel may be best
for prot warriors would you guys recon warhelm of the bold beats myrmidon's headdress?
When should I use Sunder vs Devastate?
Deva replaces sunder as prot
Think Bold is technically better with the agility but Myrm is nicer as pre raid cus more defense and stam
for prot . scry or aldor
Aldor the more flexible
Aldor if you want to use the 1h sword for early game. Otherwise it literally does not matter.
Plus aldor is also better for dps so pays off in fights ur not needed to tank
10 ap vs 5 crit rating on the enchant. its not a lot better. Tank enchanting is a 0,06 difference in mitigation value* so also literally 0 difference 🙂
Its not the original version of devastate where u used ti have to wait for 5 sunders, now u ca just use it instead so its big 📈
@charred wadi agree but whether 0.00001 or 100% better is better. And he asked what's better.
Fair enough Xd
I have seen only website sims. Is there any excel done yet?
Do you need exactly 20 expertise and 47 hit for raids right now? As tank
is 1-70 still arms leveling or has fury moved up a bit
Does anyone know where this questgiver went? Right outside the Dark Portal and there's nobody around.
leveling as prot should i worry about def cap in tbc dungeons? should i gem def in my leveling gear or just stam?
hello guys i have a question regarding Prot warrior Pre raid BiS
untill now i found mutiple source each have there BiS and each have there own Different ranking
what is the most solid option that you guys recommand ?
Fury better for sure now that Sweepign Strikes was moved
Is that the tabard quest? It was removed once Portal opened iirc.
tbc.wowhead ones have been updated and 100 % best choice to begin your journeys with. https://tbc.wowhead.com/guides/classes/warrior/protection
No need to worry about def cap for normal dungeons while leveling. Gem stam is typically best choice.
If you head over to the classic warrior discord (invite link in the pins in this channel) you can go to #tbc-sim-dev and in the pins over there you can find a dps sim for arms and fury with p1 item to select from. Its not as all-encompassing as retails raidbots.
ty. I remember leveling my dps char that SH hit like a truck and we had to get our tank an extra level and some more defence gear. So worried about starting to level my full green war
Its probably enough considering respeccing deep prot and play sword&board around lvl 65 if you are running dungeons exclusively and ideally playing with dedicated group. For me this time around our speed wasn't really gated by dmg but healer mana. So even if I could frontline and essentially dps tank nothing was gained if healer went oom faster.
would you reccomend just playing deep prot now at 60? Feel like that's prob the play
if youre gonna be doing any questing parallell to dungeon i would still suggest fury then and just tank sword&board. Questing as deep prot is just miserable experience 😛
i mean going dual wield spamming deva its still arlight enough when forced but youll be way more effective questing as proper fury 🙂
hi! been trying to find a arms/prot build that makes both solo leveling and tanking possible. anyone got any to share?
You def want MS and sweeping strikes to make arms nice for solo play, so that 31/21 at the very least. Questing AND tanking some normal dungeons here and there wont require any niche spec.
Maybe something like this? Requires 61. So if your 60 you get SS at 61. After that it depends a bit. You could do 3/3 tactical mastery in prot for better stance dancing and more threat on MS when you play dstance. Could go 2/2 slam, 2/2 weapon mastery in Fury or 2/2 blood frenzy for the 4% debuff in Arms. Impale loses a lot of value as you lvl since your crit % tanks but there isnt much else to pick to move further down in the Arms tree. This also why in general a fury build will be the "superior" choice for lvling, be it questing or dpsing in dungeon. Comparing the Arms vs Fury talents in regards to stepping in as a tank doesnt change your tanking prowess really, if anything the Fury juice does more for you. Imp TC in arms is very good for threat and the parry is nice. To an extent Deep Wounds as well. BUt that is all stuff you get early on in Arms and doesnt require a hard commit for MS.
do ppl really take imp thunderclap for fury? doesn't seem right to switch to bstance just for tc
if you don't have an arms warrior in your raid and your tank doesn't use thunderfury then you might have to
it lasts ~20s iirc tho, so not too bad, just switch when you're low rage anyways
for fury is it generally better to have a fast offhand or slow off hand? or does it even matter?
Imp TC in above suggested would be strictly for lvling with possibility to tank. So if you wanna pve dps at 70 you respec. TC is warriors best aoe tool
Super! Thanks!
SLow off hand is better now that WW hits with both hands.
anyone know of any swing timer addons that reset when you slam?
Can't tell if the boost gear is awful or if I'm terrible but I can't keep aggro on packs for shit
Like I'm doing everything I can on packs, thunderclap on CD, HS on priority targets I'm trying to get aggro on, revenge on CD, I can't keep aggro.
Boost gear is just ass
But if you’ve never played classic warrior before it’s also probably partially skill, just not being familiar with everything
A lot of your threat as prot from what I’ve heard is from devastate and heroic strike though, shield slam for snap threat if you need
I don’t main prot warrior but that’s what I have been told
Hello! Can anyone help me with how my talent tree should look at lvl 58 for Tauren - warrior that wanna go soloing and do quests in Outlands and all that in TBC? This is how i as thinking of going but i dont know if it's good. I have not really played warrior arms thats much to be honest
What is your guys go to BIS list for first phase?
Only problem with arms is the spec. I would just do fury until I made lionheart or the mace
You probably just take the talents that give the biggest crits
Cleave not HS in dungeon (except bosses) other than that you cycle revenge/ss/deva on all targets. Mocking/taunt/conc buys time
Begin with Wowhead guides for tbc
Aldor or scryer for prot?
preference..scryer is better early on because of gear rewards but id say the enchant for later is better for aldor
@heavy grail
Tyvm
anyone got any guides on stat prio for arms? using pawn atm and its showing a lot of leather gear being better than I already have and not sure if its true or not
hi pals i searched but i'm not satisfied, has anyone tanked 60-70 in a dps spec? fury or arms?
i did it in fury/prot
how was soloing?
hey guys.. just picked up warrior in tbc and writing all my macros right now.. is there a lsit, with all the useful/needed macros? especialy the stance dance ones?
Hey guys. Does the stun from Deep Thunder and Stormherald share a DR with arms mace talent stun?
Any paladin discords similar to this?
Hammer of Wrath, link should be on wowhead
So who else boosted a warrior? and what spec is gonna perform better with the poopy gear they give you? lol
Boosted gear is comically ass
Anyone have a good hybrid prot/dps spec for questing and tanking heroics? Something like these:
https://calculators.iradei.eu/talents/warrior?150203013020000000000000300000000000000000000355511033020100501051
https://tbc.wowhead.com/talent-calc/warrior/35301301302010500321251-02-035501103
Hey dudes! I’m not sure if this is asked a lot, but how much of a dps loss is it going for the deep thunder mace spec compared to sword spec and lionheart?
was easy to quest and i also could tank dungs fairly easily
fury tank viable while lvling?
yes
Any tbc Prot warriors have any advice on how to keep aggo with locks who are using seed of curruption? Seems impossible.
Specifically with packs of 4-5
I've just accepted that Warriors are terrible at keeping aggro. You can't really do anything about the situation. Thunderfury helps immensely but otherwise all you can really do is be sure to mark targets. If the others focus non-priority targets you can't really do anything.
Best cases for AoE is to make sure your group gives you a few seconds to group the mobs. Mark, and tab target. and use your rotation properly. Spread sunders, Cleave. Revenge is money for getting a stray mob back. Taunt is good too, but will break if you don't get the first hit back on it.
Gorehowl on human viable? Was using some pretty shady 1 handers
Hey guys, what engineering things should I be sure to make as a prot warrior?
when tanking malchezar in p2 i just die instantly
im keeping TC and demo up
what else can I be doing
Arms warrior help
currently have my hit rating at about 11% trying to switch gear around to get it back down to 9% hit cap,and crit rating is about 30% is there a specific number I should go for on my crit rating?(still working on getting expertise up)
Also currently using gorehowl over lionheart blade as I havent upgraded it to the second version yet, will it heavily affect my dps if I stay with gorehowl until next phase?
not best, but it's fine
if you're mostly solo, I'd recommend taking Blood Craze (prob drop Commanding Presence for it); Rampage is kind of a PITA to maintain while questing, especially without a healer to eliminate downtime - if you're set on Fury, you might consider dropping it and Precision for Death Wish (max Deflection to get there, could also take points out of Iron Will for Imp Charge - it's actually pretty useful when you can't constantly pool rage)
Should I go Aldor or Scryer?
doesn't really matter, aldor has an exalted rep 1h sword (which you may not even ever need) and a very slightly better enchant; scryer has a better BS leveling pattern and arguably less annoying tower (at least until you get good flying)
need arms warrior help what is better warmaul of infused light with 3 crit/str gems or firemaul of destruction
Archi are you doing theorycrafting and what not for tbc at all?
Also I have malchazeen from prince and also blackout truncheon. I know the mace is good but is it better than the dagger?
Are there any websites for tbc simming? Or is Pawn a good indicator of what would be an upgrade?
No difference. Consider Aldor if you want to try some Fury early on.
Its hard. Some time before they pop off is prefered. Make sure to hit Thunderclap on CD, demo shout for initial, dump rage on Cleave and SS/revenge whack-a-mole. A class with a solid slow to kite things is also good (hunter, mage S tier here).
There is a simming tool on Classic warrior Discord. Invitelink in the pins in this channel.
@charred wadi @fierce swift @worthy moon
Thanks guys, glad to hear it's not just me lol
Let them die. Its impossible to deal with seedspamers...
Yeah fortunately I've been getting 20-50g tips for tanking the dungeons so at least my repair bill is covered if they Wana wipe us.
Ive gotten a little better with dealing with it though just over the past day
If u do your prio thing, wl will die and you will get aggro back.. Some weird dpsjunkies have to learn that tBC is not retail
Yeah I probably should just not taunt or stun or anything it it's getting really annoying
I've found that some locks give enough time before they go off and you can keep threat until they die.
And then there are the ones who think 2 auto attacks is sufficient
Thats it, good locks wait and know when its time to stop and when to burst
Go deep arms if you can't get slam
I'd argue against that - Deep Arms may be better for 3 levels, but at 61 you can get Sweeping Strikes, and can have Imp Slam by 63 - no point in respeccing twice IMO
@wanton sigil @nimble breach
Unless you're flush with gold and time, respec in a way that you can make use of the talent points you get as you level
Question regarding Fury and hit rating: I have 142 hit rating with 0/3 Precision, should I still put points in Precision since we primarily deal white hit damage? I've always seen 9% hit as the bottom limit, is this a correct line of thought?
what cheap weapon enchant should i use on my main hand prot warrior. NOT MONGOOSE lol. perfer threat. was thinking potency
is crusader better?
Any fury warriors streamers to watch ?
You still get use from hit rating past 9%, so yes
anyone have a fury/prot hybrid build for a new to warrior / new to tank player to use?
Is there like a reccomended guideline for a Prot warrior to use (stat wise) to start doing Heroics?
Like 490 Def and about 10k HP or more?
i found it more useful for open world. You can intentionally get dazed for second wind and heals pretty good amount
not saying it won't work, but it's kind of niche and Sweeping Strikes / Imp Slam are big pick ups
Was more relevant for pre-patch, but unless you want to respec at 58 for it, then respec again at 61/63 for SS/Slam (which is kind of a waste of time and money), the gain isn't really worth
9% is the special hit cap, and the most important softcap, but Fury especially benefits greatly from hit beyond, as dual wielding is subject to an additional hit penalty (and unlike retail, you generally virtually all your rage from autos)
Def capped is key
Unless youre giving up precision for death wish, precision allows you to gear towards more crit/ap pieces since with earlier gear we have really low crit
How does rage gen work in TBC?
you hit stuff, you rage, you get hit by stuff, you rage
Crusader or 15 agi
Check Wowheads prot warrior pre-bis list for TBC. IIrc none requires heroic loot.
Fury prot is dead for raiding/heroics. For normals you can do whatever in dstance.
does anyone know the stat weights for arms?
New question. Should I drop my bs as prot warrior for enchanting. My eng is 360 my armor smith is 335 but i dont see any reason to hold on to it. Will it become good later on or should i just take my lose now
My bs is armor smith btw
For pure PVE tanking consider swordsmith for tank weapon if non-orc and especially if human. If orc go axesmith. Can also consider macesmith (regardless of race) for 2h mace to pvp with. Glad helm and chest will be bis tanking. They have no rating requriement so even 0-10 per week gets you there eventually so value ofDeep Thunder dimishines of course. 1h mace might be useful situationally for tanking and if you ever try some fury. Wouldnt throw in the towel on BS yet but you will need 375 eventually so its a considerable gold investment. Engineering you should stick to for both trinkets and bombs. Enchanting doesnt pick off before Hyjal when +4 stats on rings become available. @real crescent
do i need 490 def for tanking raids?
If i switch to sword smith will it roll back my profession points? Will I have to do the mastery quest again ect.
Is there any way to easily check our crush cap (102.4% Miss+Dodge+Parry+Block) for prot warrior?
490 defense (not rating). if you use resilience it will be less since it also pushes off bosses crit chance. There is a easy spreadsheet in the classic warrior discord.
Typically find a weakaura
Is kings defender really worse than thrallmar axe for orc tanking? I hate axe spec 😦
is it bearable to go deep prot after 60 and mostly do dungeons with some questing on the side or am i better of hybrid build?
do yall have macros for every ability for /startattack
Anyone tried tanking as a boosted warrior? (the paid to get to 58 boost)
I've been doing the staring quests in the boosted gear and.. oh my goodness.. They suck ass. (I'm arms)
Of course I'm new to warrior as well.
But I feel very weak.
Gotten a couple of upgrades today in ramparts and 1-2 quests.
So was thinking that maybe dungeon leveling would be better?
@fluid island as far as I know, yeah. All of the attack abilities need a /startattack macro. I'm noticing I'm missing it on some of my abilities.
Feels at least as it should be on all the offensive abilities. So.. ALOT of macros 😂
Hey everyone, so last night we've raided Karazhan with my guild and on Prince Malchezaar I've had a lot of trouble as a warrior tank. Phase 1 was great with no problems but in phase 2 he would just 2 shot me. Even with being defense and avoidance capped. Any advice?
Is 11,5 hp and 11,5 armor with 490 enough for Kara? Semi Guildrun
Yes. Consume up and its fine
Are you using consumes? Flask, stamina for more hp buffer. Armor potion is big with 100% uptime. Demo shout and thunderclap should be up. Hunter can use scorpid sting.
I'm just starting up my prot Warrior in TBC, and I'm looking for recommendations on keybinds & macros to make my life a bit easier. Specifically, I'm having trouble keeping up shield block immediately on cooldown, while also paying attention to my threat generating abilities like revenge, shield bash, etc...
Cant really tell what to do for keybinds. Any keybinds are better than none. It requires practice to learn and figure out good solutions. In general I avoid modifier keys for abilities I use practically all the time. It can be hard to move and hit abilities while also holding down ctrl/shift/alt. Some people just use mb 1+2 for forward movement and steering so its less of an issue.
I don't think Shield Block is on the GCD, correct? So, could I macro shield block into all of my main attacks (Revenge, Shield Slam, Devestate) with a \castsequence and just double tap to cast shield block first?
I'm generally spamming those attacks anyways, at least shield slam and revenge
For going in to Kara as protection how important is it to be right at the defence cap? People are telling me to gear more for threat than for survivability aka more hit and expertise. Will a crit one / two shot me?
Can you share the link here please?
How popular is this Disc? I love finding everyone's secret spreadsheets and stuff. Seems there aren't many resources here?
most of the resources are found at fight club, their link is in the pins here
Anyone here have trouble getting intervene macro to work?
#showtooltip Intervene
/cast Defensive Stance
/cast Intervene
This one won't cast defensive stance and I have no clue why
the way stances used to be was weird
/cast [stance:1]Berserker Stance;[stance:3]Defensive Stance;[stance:2]Battle stance
Aldor or Scryer for prot warr?
Doesn't matter
Not my content to share. Head over to the discord and find it there. Not a big deal.
Sorry posted this in retail Prot channel. But need this for TBC.
Anyone have weakauras to share?
Looking for one that will announce to group if im CC'ed (TANK)
Really need this
hey guys, i'm leveling as war fury, which weapon I need? someone told me an axe and a dagger
if you have decent gear fury is fine, if not go arms for levelling
but if you're stuck with fury use a slow mainhand and fast offhand doesnt matter what type
arm is played with zerk stance?
I don’t think fast oh is the play anymore. Pretty sure it’s two slower 1h’s
Quick question, is questiong ok as prot warrior at 70. I would like to switch, but i wanne be sure i can still q for gold.
is there sims for TBC?
Does anyone have a hybrid build for tanking and actually being able to quest or farm?

Hey guys,
Having a hard time finding the WA/Addon that announces taunt fails & ability uses....any ideas?
You can still quest, you can also unequip shield to dual wield in deep prot
is fury good?
current data indicates that it out performs arms. afaik.
anyone have a weakaura that announces when you are stunned?
anyone play warrior ? or still leveling up?
Yes but your kill times will be slower. I suggest slapping some dps gear while questing.
heroic strike devastate macro? asking for a friend
is there a downside to using daggers?
dont wanna take the 2h axe from this quest cuz im not gonna play arms
but that dagger kinda nice
Hello guys. So I've been off tanking gruul today and yeah, I don't have the optimal pre-bis gear but on like 10 stacks I just got oneshoted. Which shouldn't happen. I had 14,400 hp buffed with roughly 12,400 Armor. I'm missing 3 Def to be capped. Could that be it ?
def cap prevents you getting crit afaik, which you can easily see in the combat log
@jagged sable my guild pretty much just wipes at 11 stacks.
Did you get crit? Did you get crushed? Def cap solves crit issue, using shield block solves crush issue. Consumes you can go flask for 550 more hp and 10 defense and 20 or 30 stamina food. Armor potion is 2000 (if classic version) or 2500 (if tbc version) can be up 100% (2 min cd, 2 min duration). Priests/shamans can be healing you with direct heals for 25% armor increase buff. Make sure thunderclap, demo shout/curse of weakness and scorpid sting is up on boss. Not using Curse of Reck reduces dmg further. 11 stack is 5,5 min mark. How close are you to killing boss?
Is fury generally the way to go when leveling and best pve dps?
yes and yes,
but you might have a hard time getting a raid spot since fury isnt the best pve dps compared to other classes, and raids are already bringing arms warrior for shout and bloodfrenzy
ah so raid spots are gonna be minable
for a warrior in general
also would I have a better chance going arms for a spot?
for a meta comp yes
Its gonna be my first time playing classic and my friends are playing Priest/Paladin. But I am a big pvper and heard good things on warrior
but want to have a good time in pve also
arms is better for pvp as well
so the point is that arms will do less dps than fury, but brings more raid utility so it gets a raid spot
I guess it all depends on the raid comp or roster
Does anyone know, if i unlearn armorsmithing after making the Breastplate Of Kings, can i still equip it?
If I'm the offtank, should I get DPS tier? (Provided I can make up the defense elsewhere)
How far behind Decapitor is Dragonmaw? I have drakefist hammer, but im probably going to craft stunherald first because its phase 2 is far more greater upgrade and i want to pvp. I was thinking abput getting decapitor in MH until i can craft dragonmaw.
Im so confused about the dragonmaw at this point. On most guides its recommended as the absolute BiS, some old comments say it has a bad proc rate and isnt as good now, and a simulation i just used puts the decapitator ahead of the dragonmaw on an orc fury warrior in BiS armor
Its for sure BIS for fury pve regardless of race and quite nice tanking with in heroics in low-medium rage scenarios
Prot gloves for tanking are a placeholder at best while dps gloves are basically identical to Netherstorm quest reward Gauntlets of the Vanquisher (if you're after a plate option with stam). There are also the Fel Leather Gloves and Ragesteel Gloves as crafted dps options. Shouldn't matter what you pick.
Prot helm provides a lot of bulk but the dps helmet is also very nice with crit and hit rating for tanking. Dps helmet is bis for P1. I would go with dps helmet if you main dps and see if it can be used for tanking.
Prot legs aren't very impressive. You want curator legs for prot and until then use revered Keepers of Time legs. Tier dps legs are P1 bis. Pick dps legs.
Tier dps shoulders are bis for tanking and dps so go with that.
Tier chest is in similar situation as helmet when considering prot vs dps. Its not prot bis for the phase (glad chest is) but until then its very good. It is phase bis for dps.
I would make an account on Seventyupgrades and look what you can get together while mixing and matching item options.
This is insanely in depth, I really appreciate it gamer.
One last question if anyone is willing to take it on. If not I appreciate it regardless, I'm digging around atm to try and figure it out online.
Is resilience and defense inter exchangeable? since they both reduce the likelihood of being hit with a crit hit. Can I theoretically put on the arena chest/pants that give 79 resilience instead of wearing my current chest/pants that give 51 defense?
"Damage of" I have found out, I am indeed a pepeboi
defense and resilience reduces boss crit chance. so p1 prot bis setup would include glad chest/helmet to use the resilience bonus among other. defense also ups block/dodge/parry chance so more versatile in that sense. approx 40 resilience rating is same as 60 defense rating in terms of crit chance reduction. again, if you setup a profile on seventyupgrade you can mouseover the stats to see if your crit immune vs bosses. the classic warrior discord (invite-link in the pins in this channel) has more resources in the tank section.
any tips for improve dps (arms) in raid, thx
hello(my english is not very good) , i just started my first toon and i want to ask what professions should i get first while leveling? I think mining and herb are the best choice for gold, and then to drop for blacksmitting to make my items. Am i correct?
what in the holy server shutdown shit is this?!?!!?
That is a good way to do it, yes.
hey, I have a question...
Has anyone done any testing for a fury warrior build using deathwish+ sword spec and the rest in ofc fury ?, would that outweigh rampage+ improved berserker stance ?
I've been wondering about this fury talent build I am seeing people using going for Deathwish instead of rampage?? Is it better??
what?
what is the better weapon as an arms orc gorehowl or despair ?
Where can i find a Pawn string for Prot warrior?
@zinc cliff long fight rampage short fight death wish
As you get gear death wish gets better
Rampage does not scale
It will always be 250 ap
Somewhere in t4 gear levels death wish will become straight superior and rampage will be a thing of the past forever
At least that version of it
@placid scaffold I was going to say there really isn't that long of fights currently but I can't really find anything on the talent build itself so not sure what all to go or take out
Actually idk if it's worth losing precision talent I found the build, hmmmm
Rampages 30 rage cost just feels bad constantly keeping it up in heroics and Kara boss fights ect
21/40
Prioritizing the dodge reduction and ww cd and offhand spec
My advice
Go to fight club and use their simulator
And just sim it all
bc u can play dw or rampage at this stage of the game
@placid scaffold is fight club a site or something?
its a discord server
If I have a warlock right outside the Arcatraz instance portal can they summon someone and bypass the need for a flying mount
@rustic nova Sums are disabled in Netherstorm
Besides the sum stone at the very bottom
What do you guys do as Prot Warrior when fighting Shade of Aran in Kara, do you switch to a 2h or something, or just play as normal?
Go Berserker Stance and just dps with sword + board if your deep prot for Sheild slams 🙂
I am the off tank for my guild at the moment and I wanted to get some opinion on some off tank fury builds the one I have come up with so far is 0/42/19 and I have no idea the viability of the tank portion of it
👍
I go berserker stance with 2 1h's and dev/whirlwind spam. Dunno if shield slam does more.
In a scenario of 4 stacked mobs, what is more valuable to do while sweeping strikes is up? Whirlwind or cleave?
How hard it’s to level a warrior as arms? Or should I go fury and then switch to arms at max level?
Tbc warrior here should i lvl as arms or fury?
Go Arms
As a boosted warrior, should i prioritize strength and agility as prot tank for more rage generation?
So my guild refuses to stop using expose armor, which makes me sort of feel like devastate is a waste of a talent point. I am considering rolling with this spec from now on in raids
Anyone mind weighing in on whether they think its shit? Considering my situation.
Also considering this, since I am using Latro's
And likely will be almost forever.
!p power glove loaded
imposter??
if i get a gorehowl is it worth playing arms over fury if i have 2 blue one handers as fury
is stacking defense good, even after exceeding the crit cap?
I'd switch to arms to look at my character swinging Gorehowl yes
Extra defense boosts dodge parry and block so it's good. I would try to reach expertise cap / hit cap though
Just wear what you get and don't drop below def cap imo
Hey guys, I'm leveling my first warrior ever, I also made a mage so I can farm for this warrior to keep up with weapons since I know like Pallys (which was my main in original) they rely on having a good weapon.
Not twink gear, just decent greens. From everything I've gathered it seems like early levels is better to go straight arms until around improved OP and then pick up cruelty and then fill out Arms
But, what do you pick up in Arms? I'm not sure what to do 10-20
3 Imp. Rend, 2 Parry, 2 Imp. Charge, finish Parry or pick up Imp. Thunderclap is what I think but I'm really not sure
I would recommend getting at least enough hit rating to not miss targets that are your level (5%), this will greatly increase your threat generation. I track my miss chance using CharacterStats Classic Addon. After that I would focus on +defense items.
Generally yes, defense rating remains one of the most efficient defensive stats you can get even after cap, that being said, you shouldnt really go out of your way to seek it. There really isnt anything better for you to put in your yellow slots, so getting the orange dodge/defense rating gems is still your best bet on that front, but getting 5% hit rating should indeed be your next priority after def cap.
Im sorry if this is pinging you at a bad time.
Wow thank you for that explanation!
I will look in atlas for some good hit items
Like the ring from manatombs
Can any1 tell me how accurate those warrior bis lists are https://wowtbc.gg/bis-list/fury-warrior/ ??
Find the best combination of gear for every phase of The Burning Crusade with a list of alternatives, drop locations, rates, and how to gem and enchant them.
Is there a better combination of items (excluding world boss drop) or its just top tier gear and there is nothing to improve? Asking mainly about fury bis list
Use wowhead’s tbc bis lis for prot/dps warrior. It is is more up to date for TBC Classic warrior meta.
This is incorrect. Warrior needs 27,4 avoidance to achieve uncrushable when shield block is active. You can basically achieve this naked with 5/5 shield spec, 5/5 parry and 5/5 anticipation at lvl 70. Going beyond this will do absolutely 0 so gemming pure stamina will always win defensively. You can consider gemming resilience+stam (green) if the bonus is good (hit, resil, stam, crit, agi) and if it requires a yellow to achieve. Agi+stam is also on the table if the bonus requires a red gem. Never go for the non stamina option is the important part. An example would be epic pvp bracers or neck. They both have a bonus for using a yellow gem. Neck gives 2 hit rating and bracers is 2 resilience. Using said green gem would mean you trade 6 stam for 2 hit or 2 resil. If you need crit immunity it could be an option. If you need 2 hit to get 6% hit (cap is 9, but raiding with boomie is +3 via FF and if you also have a Draenei in your group you’d only need 5) Whenever the bonus isn’t useful (dodge, block, parry, block value) or you don’t need it (hit, defense, resil) you would always want to gem 12 stam. Exception to pure stamina gemming would be if you are going all in on dmg. Then you’d consider agi+sta (purple) or crit+sta (green). But that’s probably only relevant in BT/MH (MAYBE) and the bonus actually are worthwhile. An ideal chest would have 3x sockets. That means 36 stam if you got 3x12. The bonus would have to be pretty convincing for it to be worth mix and match green/purple combos and trade 18 stam to get it.
What if im way under hit cap ie like 2 or 3 % should i gem some pure hit gems or just swap out a piece all togeather
Hello, I'm just about to start leveling a warrior, Im 60 atm, already leveled my hunter and mage to 70, what spec would be good for a warrior leveling to 70? Im going to tank a lot of dungeons and quest
I've seen people say to spec a hybrid arms/prot for dungeon/questing, but ive not yet found the build
Even if you are way under hit its still doable on bosses if you are given some time (4-5 globals after pull) when you get bad rng. Once threat is established and you pull ahead a few misses here and there won't matter in the long run. You'll have margin.
Personally, I feel it is more critical on trash since usually ppl just blast. So in a dungeon/on trash in for example Kara i'd look to equip a bit more hit if you can. Gemming pure hit isn't as efficient and the upside of hit won't outweigh the benefit of a larger hp pool. There are a lot of easy-to-get hit items though. For example Breastplate of the Warbringer, Junior Technician 3rd Grade Bracers, Wind Trader's Band, Mark V's Throwing Star and Overlord's Helmet of Second Sight. Latro's and other expertise items also function as hit as it reduces the chance to be dodged/parried. I would build a set around having around 5-6% hit if possible.
The same can be said about being just below crit immunity. 0,3 % to get smacked by a crit probably won't matter too much since it isnt super likely on average. If your hp and armor is nice enough and your healers are on point that will be the buffer you need. The general approach would of course to just get crit immunity since it isnt that hard with basic pre-bis (normal dungeon drops and quest items/gems/enchants) and the upside is massive.
K I asked this before kinda but now that I got kings defender I'll ask in a more clear way. So I have armorsmithing at 336 but I'm like strickly pve tank with this toon. So switching to swordsmith makes little sense I think should I really just drop bs all straight up for enchanting so I can atleast make some gold save some gold on chants and later on give ring enchants or keep it to craft resist gear or if theres anything else i would need it for later on down the road. I'm also currently the only bs in the guild but its not like anyone ever needs me to craft them anything. And everything I use ie lesser rune of warding stones ect are cheaper to just buy on the AH. This bothers me when I think about it cause it's not like it was cheap to lvl up blacksmithing
Armorsmithing is fine, the breastplate is great. Tons of armor and HP, just slot in gems using whatever defensive stat you need, personally I’d just use 3 green defense/stam gems, and it will work fine.
Especially since the endgame upgrade has a great use effect, though you won’t get that until T5 comes out.
Hey Warrs. Can i build as Tank without Devastate? Sry my English is bad.
If you mean, can you spec prot without devastate, no not really.
I mean, you CAN, but your threat will be kinda shit
Revenge is on a procced cd, devastate is not
For Orc, would Despair or Gorehowl be better as arms in PvE
I am BSing but I'm not going to make lionheart
Despair most likely, it would also depend alot on how much crit you already have as once you get the 100% flurry up time swords will be even better.
Swords are generally better in PvE, not only because they are designed to be better through their stats, but sword spec as well. For almost every class the general design is Swords = PvE, Axes = Middle-ground, Maces = PvP.
Obviously that is a generalization, Cataclysms Edge is godlike for PvP, and Torch of the Damned is great for PvE, but in general, most weapons will be designed for a certain purpose.
Spec Devastate
Its a considerable investment going for 375 for the T2 upgrade (Bulwark of Kings). The item itself is very good though. Second option to Gladiator chest for P1 imo. You dont need to be a pvper to get Glad chest. It will take roughly 6-7 weeks to lose 10 games per week before you can afford it. Going for the armorsmith chest saves you to repeat the arena point procedure each season. You also have the T3 upgrade in T5 to go for. I'd keep BS.
If you watch wowhead bisgear for prot, its lower than 490 defense, stupid question but shouldnt you always aim for 490?
Thx. What you think is this build ok?
https://de.tbc.wowhead.com/talent-calc/warrior/0502-05053-0335511133000100501351
nah, use sonething like this instead
TBC talent calculator for each class in the game. Built for WoW patch 2.4.3 so that you can preview and plan your talent changes.
Is latros shifting sword better than kings defender?
Resilience provides crit immunity as well
Assuming human warrior in full BIS, perfect raid composition for buffs/debuffs and infinite rage scenario Latro's is about 6-10 tps (with/without Imp Expose Armor) better than KD. KD is def an upgrade and not something you would want to pass on. Keep Latro's though!
I’m a tauren, does that change anything? No sword racial
Better for what? Threat? Yes. Overall threat and mitigation? No.
Kings Defender is BIS as an overall type of weapon but if it’s threat related, it’s not the best weapon in that slot
Dragonmaw hammer is also an option as devastate can double proc the effect
Hi guys, is leveling as a prot warrior viable and "fun"? I'd like to tank the all the instances from 60 to 70 and beyond, but don't have the gold to respec every time i do an instance, so i though i would just stay in prot spec 🙂
quests suck but they're not completely terrible. dungeons all the way is viable
Dungeons works pretty well.
100%. Dungeon grind then you can get more gold and rep from quests
I wouldn't level as prot. You should just go Fury with Deathwish
The mobs don't do enough damage to require being full prot for leveling
You'll top meters and make the dungeon faster + hold aggro by just doing the most damage
If your gear is donkey though, prob go prot but then you're pretty useless if you decide you wanna quest
Can go dual wield prot and devastate spam quest mobs down
you do not need to be prot to tank dungeons while levelling
generally it's worse if you are
Hey. Sword Specialisation and Axe Specialisation in arms tree is only for twohand weapons?
I have crazy idee vor my fun build.
I just boosted a prot warrior. Is there any particular green armor I should look for off the AH? Like of the soldier or something?
Anyone knows when the best time to pop Recklessness is? During execute phase or right when you get your buffs up?
If you are planning on leveling via dungeons, just get anything around your level that has defense rating, since those items will almost always have stam as well.
Otherwise, there are a shitton of items from quests that are really good, such as the Netherwing shield from the Karynaku questline
Dabiri's Enigma is also an absolute godsend of an item early on, 30 defense rating is hard to beat in a trinket slot.
From a questline in Netherstorm
Hey guys, Im newer to warrior have bounced between arms and fury for 1-54 and its very hard to find groups as a prot warrior, do you all think it would be a better idea to just run arms/fury until 58 and then switch for tanking? or just hit mid 60s and go prot
Most people dont seem to actually look for prot warriors for non-max level dungeons ive noticed
I would suggest just running arms until max level, you can get enough items just from doing quests for the most part, get into dungeons when you can
?
Tanks are high demand especially for HCs. You dont look for a group as tank, make one yourself anyways 😛
We werent talking about HCs.
Its for both 1h and 2h idk why that guy just lied to you.
Thx man. Than i can try my crazy build ;)
I tend to Reck execute phase of Gruul or I pull threat and die, hopefully off tank has a big enough lead by then, and on Mag I pop it on the 30% Blast Wave interrupt channel coz he takes extra damage.
Anyone know where I can find some info on why getting Def/dodge is better than hit/exp cap?
What should I use in my MH as orc, drakefist hammer(rank 1 hammer) or the decapitator from prince?🤔
hello guys, is expertise going to be a thing in p2? will it be worth sacrificing str and crit for expertise?
for arms warr*
does anyone have a link for 0/20/41 build? Seeing it listed on warcraft logs as teh breakdown but no build link
Either one being better is a... difficult argument to make. They are two different categories, hit/exp is TPS, threat per second, while def/dodge are defensive stats. The goal is to hit a balance between the two.
hey, trying to gear my prot warrior, what items should I focus on first and is there any guide for that?
There are a bunch of items you can get from quests that are great, Dabiri's enigma from the Dimensius questline in netherstorm is an amazing starting point
the netherwing protector shield from the SMV questline is amazing as well
There is also a great weapon from the cipher of damnation questline, boraks charge
Your #1 focus should be hitting the defense cap, I.E 490 defense once you get that, your damage intake will drop substantially
Heroics hurt. Use CC. It will be a long time before you just charge in and mongo shit. Being crit cap vs 70-72 (which is dungeon range) requires a bit less. Look at wowheads tbc prot warrior pre-bis list. It includes a lot of easy to acquire item suggestions. For shield best bet is farm boss 1+2 in SL for rep while your faction owns the spirit towers. Several birds in one stone including shield from first boss.
wowheads tbc guide for prot warrior.
Can anyone enlighten me on trying to spec into improved demo shout I have a druid tank asking me if I have room to spec into this currently still building my bis list but still got a lot of work to do so my current build is primarily based around maximising my survivability and don't really want to move my talent tree around if it's not benefiting me to much ?
should prot wars avoid tanking with daggers? lots of tank weapons are fast in tbc and theres parry haste to think about, but also a lot of bis guides include daggers somewhere on the list as like 3rd or 4th options.
Hey just a question that I cant seem to find an answer it says that a rating of 142 (9%) hit cap (soft) what we should aim for. Does that take into account for the 3/3 points of Precision? Or do i am for like getting 6-7% (With 3/3 Precision)?
I would not suggest tanking with a dagger. You would get next to no rage from hitting something, and few daggers have stats that are relevant to your purpose.
If you want more rage control, find a slow axe or something. If you want more threat, get latro's shifting sword.
Hit caps in guides n shit never take talents into account, since talents dont actually show up on your stat sheet.
@modern zephyr Does that mean we should aim for 6- 7% then? atleast P1? cause i could use some crit x.x struggling with rage
Generally you should aim for at least 5% hit, having more is great, but unless you out-gear the encounter, you can rarely give up defensive stats for TPS stats
Weapon damage is normalized. Daggers are 1.7 while main hand/one hand are calculated as 2.4. Dagger will always be worse for dmg/threat regardless of stats. End of the day for this tier if you get latros and your set
6% if you have a boomkin for 25man is ideal. If you sit on 5,5 or something like that it’s good enough. 6% is 94 hit rating. Helm enchant is 16, food is 20 and Mark V Throw is 7. It should be possible to get 51 hit or very close. Icon on the Unyielding should be prio farm for massive gearing QOL
@charred wadi so what matters is the type of weapon, not the speed?
Would this mean i can have a mini pocket WF totem? What do you guys think? https://tbc.wowhead.com/talent-calc/warrior/330233013020004-050500055050120531
Look up weapon damage normalization wiki. normalized_damage = base_weapon_damage + (X * Attack Power / 14). X is 2.4 if main hand/one hand or 1.7 if dagger. You will do more damage with non-dagger. Even if we entertain an extreme example. Say you got like a green 68 sword and you go kara and loot prince dagger. Sure, prince dagger will probably be an upgrade but you’ll still want to go Black Morass and farm latros.
Speed matters for Heroic strike but as you see in the calculation base weapon damage also matters. In an infinite rage scenario you’ll get more tps out of Latros due to 1.4 speed. As human in full P1 bis it will outperform KD in an infinite rage scenario and correct raid comp for debuffs/buffs. Outside of weapon speed there is no way to get out more casts. Gcd is still gcd but HS is next swing. Latros also has agi and expertise going for it. Slower weapons on the other hand tend to have greater weapon damage so in a low-to-medium rage scenario you might be pumping less actions per min (fewer heroics) but hit harder when you do use an ability.
WeaponSwingTimer bugs and doesn't reset the swing when i use HS or Cleave (auto modifiers, it seems). anyone have a fix for that, or a better addon?
Generally this should the job of a DPS warrior, since they have nothing better to spend points in that section on anyway. That being said, having more than 2 points in it is rarely valuable, since most creatures will have their AP reduced to 0 by that level of demo shout.
Which is the best fury pve spec?
17/44 or 21/40. Dual wield either way
Yeesh. 200+ Hit during pre-BiS farming. That normal?
should I be trying to precast slam at all in arms pve rotation?
wtf is this
Anyone have a working swing timer for arms tbc? pls tag me if u do ❤️
https://wago.io/rSRwi_a-b @spare iron
i am tauren prot lvl 65 i want a spec to be ready for raids as well i want to go deep prot but same time build good threat always
Deep Prot raid threat isn't bad in TBC
Just because you got a lot of classes that can reduce threat
Push buttons and gear correct and you’ll only really struggle on multitarget from time to time.
im curious about arms rotation, should i always prio slam in single target?
i never have enough rage to mortal strike if i slam on every auto
is there a TBC LFG to maybe recruit war tanks?
your best chance is to look in your server's discord
does anyone have a Summon Announcer WA? Says when you get a summon and whether you accept/decline etc
Does anyone happen to know of any protection warrior threat calculators? Either weighin your talent choices inherent threat value and/ or a warriors spell cast tps?
Shadowcore Oil or Shade Sharp Stone
How viable is fury tanking for tbc end game? Looking to respec either deep prot or fury prot hybrid
Im curious about the fury hybrid as well. Ill be a dps (but third tank for High King) so was curious if the dps prot on wowtbc is better or if you can go fury/prot still?
Hey quick question. I play Arms with Lionheart Champion and have this macro for longer execute phases (e.g. Nightbane / Gruul):
#showtooltip Execute
/dismount
/cast [stance:2] Berserker Stance
/equipslot [mod:shift] 16 Blazeguard
/equipslot [mod:shift] 17 King's Defender
/cast Execute
/startattack
This way I can swap to 2x 1h swords for more rage and sword spec / windfury proccs and just spam execute.
Would you guys recommend wielding 2x 1.6 speed weapons (Blazeguard + King's Defender) or rather go for 2x 2.6/2.7 speed weapons (Gladiator Slicer + Spiteblade) to maximize Execute phase throughput?
@wind adder Fury prot is dead. As MT use a deep prot spec and as 3rd tank play default fury or arms dps spec.
Would recommend visiting Fight Club discord for in-depth dps questions. Link in the pins.
👍
Is this a normal amount of heroic strikes and shield slams for a gruul kill? This is our main tank and his threat was very bad, looking to find some pointers for him
does anyone know if its possible to get these in current phase?
https://tbc.wowhead.com/item=32866/ascendants-boots
You cannot no. You cannot get the dragonmaw disguise right now. You can finish pre-quest line though.
need some help picking some items here
level 61 fury warrior btw
should i use
over
and then should i use
over
is the hit rating on this hood worth losing the strength?
If your leveling up I’d go with the plate but if your thinking idk
Dont dual wield for execute phase as arms wtf
Leveling gear does not matter at all, youll replace everything as you dungeon grind/quest
this has probably been discussed to death already, but i can't really seem to find a definitive answer. as a 42 warrior, do i specc fury for imp slam and SS or stay arms for MS and imp OP? weapon wise i have pretty good weapons i think (whirlwind axe and two 1h swords with 30dps each)
hi here is my arms leveling talent do it look corect ?
need help plz
❤️
anyone ?
hello ?
which is better for leveling, 2h arms or 2h fury? currently lv35
so i bit the bullet and specced fury as lvl 42 with a 2h. right now it's definitely more fun with the improved slam, and sweeping strikes is pretty nice too. i miss the bleeds from arms tree on crit, but 5/5 flurry is pretty great. as of now i don't regret speccing fury
until that level i played arms, and i think arms gives you simply more benefits before lvl 40. more rage on charge, small rage regen (which also slows down loss of rage outside of combat), thunderclap buff, overpower crits, bleed damage, death wish
but fury with imp slam, sweeping strikes and 5/5 flurry beats it i think.
@heavy smelt
and @mortal adder , this is no ones job lol, don't expect immediate responses. as for your talent setup, there is basically no stun or charm effect while levelling (very few exceptions), so i'd specc like this:
https://tbc.wowhead.com/talent-calc/warrior/203203213
Hey y'all!
Does anyone know where to compare gear at? As an example I have Dispair and Lionheart Blade adn not sure which is better dps
at what level should i look for a replacement for whirlwind axe?
hi a friend of mine told me to use this talent for leveling as warrior is it any good ?
just a question, for prot warrior this macro can be good ? ( i found it on internet)
#showtooltip Heroic Strike
/cast Shield Slam
/castsequence Heroic Strike
/startattack
No
Im struggling massively keeping threat as prot warr, what am i doing wrong? Dps goes ape, i have issues generating rage quick enought and failed a HC Bm beacuse i couldnt simply pull aggro off the healer
At this point im tempted to roll pala since it feels like i have to be khara geared to do regular HCs
And atm i pretty much have almost full pre raid bis
Morning warrior gurus, I'm trying to help a warrior in my TBC guild with his DPS and wanted to know if there is a crit % soft cap with regards to rage generation? Obviously you want to have enough rage to maintain a consistent rotation but not too much at the cost of your attack power.
I found the DPS simluator. I'm just going to sim it 😄
if i can, why you think is not good?
because youd be wasting rage in rage starved situations
okok, thanks for help ^^
Is there a more active warrior TBC discord anywhere?
I’m in the same situation and I’m in some decent Kara gear.
Glad im not the only one, sometimes i put so much abilities into a mob and yet stilll cannot get aggro off them. That was that caused a failed BM HC run earlier today, dps went full ape and so did healer, took too long to kill elite so tons of mobs spawn and was impossible to keep aggro on everything. But im not sure if im just bad at tanking or if warriors in general struggles this massively with dungeons
I’m try different specs to see but haven’t found the right one yet
Always good trying out other speccs, currently messing around with prot pala so gonna se how they feel to play
Yep i did that too. Got bored at 34 and every time i try and go in to play i just don’t have the energy to level another toon
Sorry to hear that :< usually i lvl alts whenever i have downtime from my main but ive always been a altoholic
Warrior threat generating abilities don't scale with gear, your white damage does and heroic strike / cleave does, but revenge / devastate / shield slam do not. You should have no problem holding aggro on single mobs. Tell your dps to let you get rage and threat before they go ham. Shield slam > revenge > devastate (doesn't generate bonus threat after 5 sunders but still provides the threat from the damage) > heroic strike if you got too much rage. If they can't understand how warriors generate threat then it's a failure on their part. Not like you can have faster gcds and I basically hit every single one of them. Also if your healer is a druid they generate a ton of threat from their hots.
Is helm of the claw really that good pre-raid bis? isnt the head from shadowmoon valley better?
Thanks for the info 👍
Here’s a few tips, use your taunt as a threat jump when big packs of mobs, if your main guy can be stunned or slowed, then hit him with your stun, let dps build the threat for you and at 1 second, taunt and then threat away (rogue helps this too w/ stun). Tab target devastate and tc for big aoe pulls, you can move around to change who gets hit by tc. Challenging shout is your friend, shout, and then run them further from heals or dps so when it wears off they have to run further giving you time to pick up or let them die. Your shield slam will go up in damage with more block value gear. Use your mocking blow if taunt resists - it’s an awesome talent so don’t forget it. Another possibility is switching your 1her to a slow high damage weapon to maximize your cleave/hs threat from higher damage (play with this as some people like this style more than others). Hope this helps
for prot warr when you have to dps in a fight, is it generally better to go dual wield 1h and incorporate devastate? i have a decent 2h but with heroic strike and WW being the only spenders it feels pretty bad
dual wield, you have talents that increase damage with one handed
you can also still press devastate
thanks!
Stick & trust wowheads tbc guide for warrior pre-raid bis 🙂 its reliable and updated recently. The SMW helm is a nice plate choice if you need to bulk up with plate & stamina.
zerker stance, spam deva and ww, fill with cleave/hs
Best advice on typical 4+ pack: Thunderclap early to get just enough threat to get smacked at least once per mob, get more rage and convert that for more threat. Keep using TC on CD on multiple targets. Then begin whack-a-mole. Spread SS and Rev with some Devastate among active targets. Don't get baited into spamming Deva even if its the only thing you can afford. Dont use HS. If you do have extra rage Cleave is a lot more effective dump hitting 2. Target swapping strategically can also spread Cleave on multiple targets.
You also have Taunt, Conc Blow, Disarm, Mocking Blow and Intercept to work with. View them as tools to buy time. Beyond this classes that can slow a pack of mobs makes things helpful. Shit can run around and still be under control.
Picking up a slower but harder hitting weapons also increases the effectiveness Devastate and Cleave in low to medium rage scenarios. Usually low rage means fewer actions but with a harder hitting weapon you make them count more.
is mask of the deciver fully enchanted and gemmed right, better then thundering greathelm from mag's lair?
need another opinion
@charred wadi Thanks mate!
can somone answer my question
is mask of the deciver fully enchanted and gemmed right, better then thundering greathelm from mag's lair?
Thanks for the tip mate ^^
I see, thata good to know, i wasnt aware of the weapon thing as the guide wants me to get the sword from last boss in BM (which i believe have bugged dropprate)
what weapon is the go to for pvp guys?
I belive mask of the deciver is second bis after T4
Check pins for fight club discord link
Check wowheads bis list, but in general you want a meta gem slot for your helm
hey is there a tbc pvp channel for wars?
Same question
Check the pins for the classic warrior discord
hello any warrior players here
No
I am having the roughest time in dungeons as a tank is this normal? I cant seem to hold more than 2 npcs...
that is normal
in TBC, Paladins and Feral had a much easier time with AE aggro, and you don't have the massive 500% threat bonus found in later Xpacs
TBC iirc was uh, like 130%ish?
So if your DPS is slapping anything but your primary target + your cleave target..you're going to have a rough time. Get people to focus mobs one at a time, the AE fest won't start until WoTLK.
does weapon speed matter for mainhand/offhand? or is whirlwind damage normalized?
I hit 70 a few weeks ago because I was busy with other things. I'm already about 2/3 bis + 1/3 preraid bis, but the guild I'm in is going nowhere. It seems like no one is recruiting prot warriors. Anyone else having this problem?
It seems like if you were not set off the jump its impossible to find progression.
Gonna have to find yourself a casual guild. People recruiting specific spwcs and classes already cleared champion of the naaru in the first 2 weeks.
Took me a month and a half to hit 70 also. My server hardly has normal dungeons anymore.
Weapon speed does not matter, for whirlwind you want 2 high damage weapons
You don't want fast ones
Well I know the slower the weapon, the bigger the white hits hit for. Are weapons normalized for ability damage? Or no?
Rage is normalized
Weapon type matters
Just dont use daggers
And you want slower weapons to increase ww dpr
Are the set bonuses for tier worth taking? Or do i go for what ever gear has better stats?
Cheaper WW seems like a decent damage boost
Hi
hi i am leveling as arms warrior in wow classic atm level 31 should i level as arms all the way to 70 also shall i raid as arms or fury ?
Fury is gonna outpace arms by quite a bit in raiding.
Alright guys, as an undead arms warrior, what would be stronger? [Hammer of the Naaru] or [Despair]? I already have the hammer, and I’m the only one in my raid group who could use the sword if it did drop
Usually Raids want 1 Arms Warrior no matter what, but that spot is probably taken by most guilds at this point.
Sword Spec in PvE is super good, Despair easily
ahh yes, despair prior to then nerfing "multiple attacks proccing multiple attacks"
Get PVP gloves, equip despair, go sword spec...spam hamstring.
Like a frog in a blender.
Don't spam Hamstring
Arms does the Slam rotation
Auto->Slam->Ms/WW->Repeat
Heroic Strike if you got rage to dump
Execute if MS/WW is on CD
Thank you! Yeah sword spec sounds fun with the slam spam
Wait so in the execute phase you don’t just spam execute?
Only use it if MS/WW is on CD
It's tempting to spam it but Auto->Slam->Instant is more DPS then Auto->Execute->Repeat
Good to know, I appreciate it! Just started going arms for my guild, it’s definitely different
does anyone have any issues gaining rage as a prot war? i had to go 2w on ShH because i was running to low for aoe pulls, those are my stats; only happens on normal runs
Use more offensive setup for normal runs with good hit, expertise and crit
Hi all, what is the best leveling spec for warrior from 1-70?
How do you guys minimize wasted time in your Arms rotation? I have the “WeaponSwingTimer” add-on, but it doesn’t acknowledge the auto-attack reset that Slam causes
Well for one, using Malchazeen is one of the reasons your rage control is bad. If you need more rage, use a slow weapon. Equip more items that have block value, so you lose some avoidance and gain some TPS. Rule of thumb is, fast weapons are for TPS, slow weapons are for rage.
I justed hitted lvl 20, what build should I use for leveling? Also, do I go 2H or dual wield?
oh no, it was on but im using latro's sword, i also hae fool's bane for slow wep, but im not getting hit that hard so im not building enough rage, so less rage=less tps, so i think i'll try using fool's bane, at least for normal runs
yo, anyone play arms pve in TBC CLASSIC who can answer some questions? I'm gray parsing and have some questions about rotation
Play a slow weapon in 5man. Latros is good cus agi and expertise but it makes devastate / cleave hit small in 5man. As you’ve said you’re low on rage so hitting less often but harder will make up for it threat wise. Rage will be the same but you’ll be more efficient with rage. Also don’t waste rage on HS or get baited into spamming devastate. Need to make initial rage count so you can convert the rage you get from first hits into more threat before shit gets loose. Whack a mole with cleave and ofc thunderclap is good.
@livid matrix what questions do you have
Get a WA that does it instead
There's a few Warrior WAs that take in mind the Slam Reset
@cerulean parcel is it better to pool some rage for MS or do you want to slam after auto every time you have atleast 15 rage? say i auto and get 20 rage, would it be better to save rage for a MS or just slam
hello friends, have a question am lvl 70 fury warrior and i haven't been in wow for so long and wanted to ask you if you have a good talent tree for me? i play pve and don't know how to skill
Follow these instructions to fix WeaponSwingTimer to work with Slam Rank 6:
Open WeaponSwingTimer_Core.lua in notepad or your text editor of choice, search Slam and there will be a string of numbers after it. After 25241(Slam rank 5's spell id), throw in 25242 (Slam rank 6's).
any way for tbc prot warrior how to display threat on a name plate enemy
and or percent on each enemy name plate of threat
Holy crap, thank you! I also appreciate all the other comments from the rest of you. I’ve used weakauras for retail, but I was going for minimalism for classic
There are addons for that. Just look up threatplates and youll find some.
We can take DMF into raids
ThreatPlate addon has this
hey
any1 here?
If I am leveling a fresh warrior on TBC, what should I do in terms of buying him gear / enchants to make him super OP while leveling
Fiery will be op all the way to whirlwind axe
When you get WW axe, I put crusader on mine and that did me well all the way to like 53
yeah, good 2h weapon > all basically
Looking for a decent stat weight program to sort gear. Either calculates weights or can be assigned custom stat weights. I remember having a great spreadsheet, I believe from EJ back in original TBC, but can't seem to find it. Anyone have it or an alternative?
Does leveling pre-60 as arms even make sense, considering Sweeping Strikes is in Fury now 🤔
@whole raven Probably something like this? https://legacy-wow.com/tbc-talents/warrior-talents/?tal=000000000000000000000005500310300501225302002300000000000000000000
hello everyone, i'm MT1 in my guild and the rogue is pushing to use Expose Armor instead of Devastate. Im tired of him because i wont listening, what can i say to change is mind?
Replace him with a real dps
Dps can only go as high as tps. If he reduces tps, he hurts the dps of the entire raid.
Thanks for your answers 🤣😁
So any thoughts on how to mitigate prot warrior tank getting enfeeble?
I thought that the MT couldn't get it but apparently not
Expose armor will give you more threat, you still use devastate either way
The rogue is right
@cosmic sable
Wtf are you guys talking about lmaooo
Devastate only gives the threat multiplier on the initial stacks anyway, after that it’s just raw damage. It’s just a part of your rotation, you’ll probably use the first 5 devs before he has ea up anyway
So you won’t lose any initial threat bonus
The fuck you mean he will reduce the tanks tps, literally the only reason to bring is rogue is for ea
It’s literally to give the tank MORE threat bc he deals more@dmg with more@armor@pen
@livid matrix slam
What is the best leveling spec for warrior im currently lvl 31 with WW axe
Go arms
Sweeping strikes axe spec into mortal strike
Then down into fury for enrage and flurry imo
But i would have to go into fury for Sweeping strikes right?
Sorry i was thinking of classic im dumb lol
yeah no go mortal strike death wish axe spec
and then down to fury for ss enrage and flurry
In pve, if i have over 490 defense, is Resilience effectively only useful for reducing periodic damage, since Im crit immune?
From what I have seen , If you are critical hit capped it should affect players too but I'm gonna put that to the test tonight
The weak aura aura I have tells me that I cannot be cannot be critted by other players but I don't know. There's lots of mitigating factors in terms of PVP
If@you have over 490 def and resil you should@prob put more threat pieces on
And no crit immune for Pve is just bc bosses have 5.6 crit
If a player has over 5.6% crit chance they can still crit you at crit - 5.6%
Look up how hit tables work imo
I just tested it for him LOL. I was still able to be critically hit while crit capped against a player but at much lower amounts. I tested it against a PvP Geared warrior. and Kagome is right. I dont have 490 def rating in my defense set but I have other pieces that bring me to crit cap for PvE. But to answer your question, you can still be critted in PvP Jsoh, just for lower amounts against a PHYSICAL CLASS.
Anyone know if precision shows in hit rating do i still need 143rating with 3/3 in precisons
Don't need resilience past crit immunity in pve 🙂
default ui won't show hit from 3/3 precision i'm pretty sure. you would need 95 hit rating. recommend characterstatsTBC addon
Dammit! This whole time I’ve been getting 143 no matter what.
As prot for maximum threat in dungeons should I take Deep Wounds + Impale or Cruelty?
@median topaz You could do 15/5/41, get deep wounds + 5/5 cruelty but skip impale. I do think DW adds more than Shield Mastery (which is what you would trade) in regards to threat. A bigger change would be to move points in anticipation to at least 2/3 tm, 2/2 imp br and play more active with zerker rage/charge to max rage.
While DW is probably the better spec we shouldn't overestimate it either in a 5man context. It scales with wpn dmg so it promotes using a slower weapon. It needs to tick before it starts adding up. It is dependant on you critting early on every active mob for it help with early threat which is the main issue. Compared to a raid boss where DW would just be a passive way to add some threat over the course of one longer fight.
Reason why I dont think impale is worth is because its 2 points to get 110/120% crit dmg vs settling for default 100% crit dmg and keeping 2% more crit. It also only applies to yellows while cruelty synergies with white hits and deep wounds. In theory there would be a break point where adding impale would do more than additional crit % but logically the crit from cruelty should basically always be more impactful in a 5man setting compared to raid cus less buffs/debuffs that bumps up your crit to compensate.
Thanks for the feedback! I might test out both situations and see how it goes. I'm probably going to be stacking quite a bit of dps gear to tank normal dungeons and adding defense gear as I step into heroics, while building a strong mitigation set for alt raids.
I've found a lot of prot warriors bring full defense gear into heroics and simply don't take damage and don't do any damage. I've seen 70 prot warriors in blues/epics doing under 200 dps overall in a dungeon, which is just totally unacceptable.
Heroics do hurt. Quite a lot more than t4 raids relatively. Nothing destroys me more than face tanking 3x bogs in the beginning of SP. Using a fair bit of mitigation/avoidance is reasonable. If you’re ccing a lot you obviously need less but if you aren’t rage shouldn’t be some insurmountable issue. Prot warriors also scale really bad with dps stats with crit and expertise being highlight. Going from theoretical bis t4 to bis t6 you won’t see a bigger tps gain than maybe 150-200. Going glass cannon doesn’t justify the increase in dmg taken. How you spend rage matters more.
Do you guys choose scryer or aldor as fury dps?
The enchants are pretty much the same, scryer is cheaper both rep and blacksmithing
But why is everyone aldor? Is the neck that good? 100 expertise procc from scryer sounds nice?
@cursive axle The main reason for fury to go Aldor is because you get 1h sword at exalted. Scryer has a dagger. Getting BS mace+Aldor sword means you have 2x weapons without relying on RNG drops. If you dont care waiting for a drop or arent able to rush exalted then it won't matter. The enchant makes no difference either. For lvling BS you would get felsteel gloves from AC and then probably go Khorium belt to push 375. No need for either Aldor or Scryer recipes. My understanding the Shattered Sun neck is more of a catchup item. Any active raider should have access to better choices.
I'm currently using fel leather gloves as arms and havnt had much luck with Martial perfection. Got grips of deftness yesterday because no one needed them. Are they worth using instead of fel gloves? I'm over hit cap without fel gloves. Losing ap and crit using deftness but is the expertise making up for it?
Searched around everywhere I can and some say fel is the way to go and other say that deftness is better
PIns in this channel is invite to Classic warrior discord. There are sim tools there to figure out item choices 🙂
So I’m in need of help . I’m raiding but also like to do more heroics but I think I need some hit and need to replace some defense gear with dps gear. My aoe dps is low compared to parses I’ve seen . I’ve seen a lot of warriors wear pvp gear cause of the resilience. But if I drop below the 490 defense how much resilience makes up for the defense loss ? I started playing after BC so a lot of this is new to me
Basically you just drop defense and you gain resilience and stam to make yourself uncrittable, but probably not uncrushable if that makes sense
you basically turn yourself into more of a druid
Crush cap and def cap are two different things
Crush cap is 102.4% avoidance
Def cap is 490 defense
Warriors are literally incapable of getting passively uncrushable until BiS BT gear, even then only with a very specific set of buffs, including grace of air and some other shit. Generally not worth the effort.
Or to correct myself, very near BiS BT gear.
Being passively uncrushable is pointless since all it would do is free up not having to use Shield block
anyone have some insight on this. my sims putting dual wield arms significantly over two hand arms
what weapons?
Pretty much everything. Simmed lionheart champion vs standard fury weps (dragonmaw+spiteblade) and they came out on top. Even higher if you pick up two swords like spiteblade+latros/vindicator/spiteblade
One thing i hate in Classic tbc etc. is to explain people, that warriors are wearing leather, these discussions are so annoying...
anyone got any good resources on tier 5/phase 2 bis lists for us warriors? :p
Wowhead tbc’s warrior guide includes p2 bis suggestions
Hit and expertise are different mechanics. Do you mean Defiance in prot tree that provides expertise or Precision in fury tree that provides hit %
What sim tool and what parameters? Jury is out regarding Dwarms vs default 2h arms over at warrior discord which I trust more.
Was looking at that was hoping for another source or 2 to cross check the choices. DST is whats really got me in question since I don't see many arms warriors using it even among the top guilds
@buoyant escarp DST is theoretical bis but rogues, fury and hunters gain a lot more out of it and why arms take it last. As all items in the game they are guild/raid resources and should be put to maximum use for benefit of all. I believe this is mentioned in the beginning of the P1 BIS list. Also the wowhead guides are written by prominent theorycrafters and based on confirmed TBC classic knowledge and not poopy priv server stuff. I am pretty sure any other guide will be dated/not accurate. Best suggestion is if your unsure is to head over to the classic warrior discord. You'll most likely find whatever you're wondering.
I meant precision
i have 139 hit rating
1% hit is about 15,7 rating. 142 hit rating should be 9%. So you would be around 8,8 with 139. With 3/3 Precision you are currently over yellow cap but I would guess hit past 9 is still good for white swings. I would get CharacterStatsTBC addon so you see easier what your hit rating converted to hit % is. Remember there are other sources of hit, for example Balance druid with Imp FF (+3%) and dranei hunter/warrior in party would be +1% hit aura (shamans and other caster classes provide 1% spell hit).
and i want to stick around 9% hit OVERALL right ?
better way to look at it is you want to be at 9% always minimum* when doing raid content. if you got access to dranei warr/hunter in group ALWAYS or raiding with a balance druid that isn't sloppy applying ff on everything you killing you could consider gear options that means you would drop some hit. practically, going over isnt something i would worry about. hope that clarifies things a bit @elder lodge
Yes. Its just the question because i could drop some hit for some crit 🙂
hey guys prot warrior here, is king's defender or warbringer from thrallmar rep better for single target threat? ive read and people have mixed opinions. i am an orc, so the expertise from racial is a factor.
Warbringer best choice as orc
@charred wadi https://tbc-dps-warrior-sim.herokuapp.com/ this is the sim i used. Parameters were standard buffs and 1 minute fight no reck
Am i able to add defense rating and resilience rating together? If i have 4.96 (104) def and 0.68 (27) res ,= 5.64% effectively making me crit immune right? Ive started to stack hit for threat. I also wasnt sure if i was reading the above posted table correctly.
yes you can
Heavily modified from https://wago.io/8svYsh795 Features: Takes into account raw resilience, defense and their ratings,
that might be helpful for you
Hey! I've leveled my first warrior from lvl 1 and am hitting Outlands today! Would this fury+prot spec work for aoe dungeons and qs? https://tbc.wowhead.com/talent-calc/warrior/050003-055001044050100501-032501103 I've leveled arms from 1-58 and don't have any awesome gear, but I figure I'll get some in the dungeons I'll do. wdyt?
looks good but i'd move 2 points from dw spec to 2/2 weapon mastery @dawn pivot
Is there a discord just for Warrior TBC?
Fight club, invtes In the pins here
(PROT) Does anyone have a TPS-BiS list for P2 that they can share?
[Spiteblade] vs [Fel Edged Battleaxe] What you guys think?
Spiteblade for everything besides orc
If ur an orc sim it
The simulator is pinned in fight club discord
And there is a link to fight club discord in this channel
wowhead guide has p2 bis list and suggestions for each slot
I ask again, anyone know if u can get a WA swingtimer to play a sound when u land a hit on a target? arms warrior TBC classic
As Prot I have Juggernaut neck and Nightbane shield (same as badges) is the only thing left that's worth spending badges on Autoblocker?
Autoblocker is not that good. There isn’t much to spend on no 😿
is there a website to Sim Tank Threat?
Situation: i like Arms...but i like Tanking Dungeons...pls Show me build for this.
Prot Warrior my whole Classic Experience just transitioned to Arms. Hoping to talk to a high parse warrior for advice on rotation, rage management ect. Plz shoot me a message. Appreciate your help!
Hello. I main prot war in tbc. I’ve been noticing that some of the high tier warriors from Warcraft logs are dual wielding dragonmaw and kings defender. Is this really viable? If so, what talents and how is it done?
Hey, im leveling my warrior lvl 42 atm, using Whirlwind axe, i wonder what spec i should be running, i feel like i have to go down fury to get sweeping strikes cus its just too strong, any tips?
dual wielding is not viable. it is only good for personal dps and to chase logs, since tank logs are based on dps and not tps or dtps (bad metric, but it is what it is). dual wielding is also worse threat per second than sword&board when main tanking a boss. dual wielding also makes you take more a lot more dmg thus requiring a lot more healing. taking less dmg while objectively doing more threat means you can either play less healers in the raid or have healers weave in dps spells for an overall raid dps increase.
the only situation where dual wielding would be potentially better is in rage starved situations. for example caster bosses like illhoof or shade in kara or while offtanking gruul. keep in mind even on a fight like gruul from the offtank position you can solve lack of rage by standing in the rubble.
Hey guys, is [Glaive of the Pit] stronger than [Gorehowl] for arms regarding pure DPS? Ignoring the orc racial, that on-hit is a lot of DPS considering how many hits you get in
Use gorehowl esp if ur orc
I am undead, so racials don’t apply to me sadly
there is a simulator in the fight club discord which is pinned here
but
gorehowl should be better every time
and ideally lionheart executioner if you have the gold to make it is bis
Def cap needed for hydros in SSC or enough Resist gear with defense where You can get enough ? 🙂 cheers for an answer! 😄
SS alone is worth 300 flat threat while each deva only provides 100 flat threat. In a 4 button DW rotation of Deva>Deva>Deva>Deva would be flat 400 threat while SS>Revenge>Deva>Deva would be 700. You can’t proc revenge reliably without shield block. You can dump rage on heroic strike regardless of dw or s&b. Without having to spend rage on SS/SB you would of course be able to keep HS queued as dw 100% but the threat from more Hs cast won’t beat 9 SS CPM + 9 rev CPM. If you need rage as MT on Gruul keep shield on and stand in the rubble. https://github.com/magey/tbc-warrior/wiki/Threat-Values
Contribute to magey/tbc-warrior development by creating an account on GitHub.
Theres no rubble on pull
Dual wielding after first ss is much better in my experience
aldor or scryers for pve dps and for tank?
Doesn't matter. Aldor if you want a gurantee 1h at exalted for early game. @empty ruin
cheers, kinda wanna go scryer, just looking for an excuse
With Scryer, your Shattered Sun Offensive Neck will suck in p5
Hello!
I have a question and i don t find the answer (sorry if the answer is already here):
I m a Warrior (spe arms).
What is the Xritical cap where i stop to use crit'jewels and go to jewels of Force in PvE?
(soz for my english)
Thx
So are there any must have addons for warrior dps? I’m struggling 😦 I wish HeKilli or FCFS worked in BC lol
Hello all - https://classic.warcraftlogs.com/reports/F97fZDaWxAzbmGgt#fight=last&type=damage-done
named Varec, can someone tell me what i'm doing wrong to only be parsing a 72?
PM please and ty
Is 430 defense and 50 resil enough to tank heroics? I tried to tank SV and couldn't do it, was the healer just bad xD or not enough gear?
how much hp do you have? crit immunity doesnt magically transform heroics into a breeze
~11k unbuffed
Your kill time is really bad, you don't have windfury 100% of the time, and you arent lining up your cooldowns with your bloodlust, even if you are haste potting at the same time
I gotta find a really good warrior and copy their UI + keybinds + addons because I’m strugglebussing
hey dudes
can anyone recommend any good WA warrs
i tried ryecock and luxthos but am pretty disappointed by them
annything made by someone that actually knows how to play a warrior?
Making one yourself is always going to be better
true, but I have no idea how to do that
Why do you get 2 points in the disarm talent instead of improve cleave?
Improved cleave is a really bad talent, and disarm is a lifesaver in almost every form of content
The bonus damage for improved cleave is only applied to the bonus damage from using the ability, so at most you are looking at like 50 damage or something
@visual mason you get disarm talent for the expertise bonus from it
Gotcha I see, didn’t know the talent scaled that way. It’s deceiving
It was like 100% more damage I was like jesussssa
yeah
you basically need 4.5% expertise + 2 from the weapon mastery talent to soft cap
its 3rd of your expertise requirements
Just crazy how much tougher warrior rotations are than most other classes lol
If you have any addons please I am taking recommendations
As dps it depends fury or arms but like you hit BT and WW on cd and add heroic strike as rage permits. Wouldn’t call it crazy 😅 @visual mason
Ya but you’re supppsed to slam instead of heroic strike
I think rotation is auto / slam / ms then auto / slam and ww
And then I gotta watch the damn swing timer
In a long fight (7-8 mins) would you pop save blood fury (orc racial) for death wishes?
I have a question - in TBC do raids expect fury warriors to maintain Thunder Clap on the boss at all times?
If you are the only warrior - that is.
Yes on prog and ur the sole warrior. If theres a tank then no
Whats the best way to add that into rotation?
Like - hit below 10 rage, swap to Arms, TC then reswap to Zerk?
yo, anyone have any insight on dw sword/dw mace for arms? i heard it outperforms the lionheart(2hand)
Arms Rotation is pmuch that yeah. You can dump rage for Heroic Strikes if you have a ton of rage (around 60 is a good number) and your Instants are on CD
It's more of a fun build then anything serious tbh
I'd like to tank at level 70 but now I'm level 58, can I spec to Prot for leveling or is Arms better?
Leveling as prot is better IMO.
Hey I need someone who’s really good at simming to show my some data of gorehowl vs lionheart (phase 1) for an orc warrior. Obviously Lionheart always wins but is it significant? I’m asking because I 100% want to make deep thunder for PvP, and I eventually am going to go fury with dragon maw
- because i really don’t want to have to respec every week between lionheart + deep thunder I need a good solution as a needed arms (blood frenzy) warrior
Log in servers down?
They’re back up now
I feel like you could figure this out pretty quick with DPS meter
Tbh I’ve been mace, axe and sword spec before and I just can’t let go of the extra rage from sword spec procs
Fury is pretty fun but I never played it when I was BiS
Just back in like 2006 vanilla days
Pre-nerf
Just annoying because I don’t wanna make lionheart 😦
LHC will be better for pve but if you are transitioning to fury anyways and your guild doesnt demand it why not just fuck around with deep thunder in pve in the meanwhile?
As i continue to get more upgraded gear from Kara/Gruul i'm noticing i'm losing a lot of hit. i am pretty much in all BIS except chest and shield. do you start removing stam gems and gem for hit?
I was at 137 then with all my upgrades dropped to 97
Any TBC master swordsmiths in here?
Every where I've read says all you have to do to become master swordsmith is talk to Seril Scourgebane in Everlook and you can learn it from him
but when I talk to him all i get is this
are you raiding with boomkin? if you are then being around 5% is enough. raiding without balance druid it will be tricky but then my opinion is you just work with what you got. stamina is king and your threat will not hurt enough to justify 8 hit over 12 stam gems and the 4agi/hit orange gems are even worse.
did you do the weaponsmith quest?
I messed around with 33/28/0 a bit. Seemed kinda fun way to provide the 'arms' for the raid while still dw. Warrior is my new project so havent delved deep into it.
Currently playing with and seeing how far i can push 0/31/30
That is the dw arms build i was playing with. Intention of Dragon MH with fast sword (like Latros) in OH
0/31/30 for dps will be subpar and for tanking it will be even worse.
- as tank enrage is 5 wasted talents, you do not want to be consistently crit as tank. if you went imp shield block anytime you dual wield the talents are dead as well.
- crit will not be high enough to utilise flurry even in raid setting. if dw - maybe
- can't use sunder if you run imp ea in raids which means your dumping excess rage in shouts for threat
- no imp heroic strike or focused rage for more efficient rage dump.
- missing out on 5% parry
- no imp thunderclap which is big mitigation vs boss and your only multi target threat option after cleave. you want tc in raids so if you aint doing it someone else has to spec into it and use it.
- bt scales with AP which you wont have enough of to make it work threat wise even with tactical mastery
To clarify. Fresh 70 (1/8 Nethers but Aldor sword OH) that is being pushed hard and fills OT role for a predom single tanked 5th guild Kara. Not suggesting it for primary tank or anything.
So till I get a bit more tank pieces (BEM quest reward expertise pants are my tank and dps pants atm.... Slacked on BM and need 2 more) the spec fits the role akin to a feral OT going kitty.
Sorry if I came across differently. Biggest issue in 5man with the spec is initial rage cost to get rolling. 30 rage for BT over 17 for SS alone is big on initial burst threat
I am also mid burning all the quests for gold, so that is also a main focus, which Sweeping and BT are enough to burn through them.
Fair enough! But even with lower gear lvls you would be way more effective playing either default fury/arms and maintaining a tank set to use when needed OR simply playing default deep prot and just cope being in a bit of a cuck position. In 5man as tank you will 100 % see and feel a performance improvement being deep prot if you are tanking. Even when questing I would suggest this if it is a matter of not dealing with respecs. Dual wield deep prot and spam deva with hs+ww as dump is surprisingly effective.
3/3 Improved Disciplines for 20 min Reck is a mistake not to take. Don't bother with both sword and mace spec. Stick to either. If you got BS mace for now just go mace spec. The ideal should be 2x sword and sword spec. Latros is decent pre-bis but the goal is 2x slow weapons to utilise WW hitting hard with both weapons.
I never saw an option for a weapon smith quest?
https://classic.wowhead.com/quest=5302/the-way-of-the-weaponsmith at the bottom is link to alliance version. the quests have the same name
Yeah I'm kinda hitting a wall with blacksmithing here. I'm following this leveling guide
https://www.wow-professions.com/tbc/blacksmithing-leveling-guide-burning-crusade-classic
I'm at level 316 and I'm supposed to make Fel Iron Chain Gloves to get to level 321 but I dont have the plans for it. I've been back and forth between the trainer in Org and Thrallmar, neither of them have it
This TBC Classic Blacksmithing leveling guide will help you to level your Blacksmithing profession up from 1 to 375.
and one know what could be the issue? I'm kind of at a stand still with BSing
yo does anyone here know the value of going mace/sword spec dw for arms? how is it simming?
Hey, does anyone know if there is a crit cap on auto attacks in tbc?
Should be trained from Thrallmar / Honorhold trainer. Scroll all the way to bottom then check the last ~5-10 patterns.
If not there, relog with no addons.
If still not there, contact GM
it has to be from thrall bs trainer. check again. if thorium prices are comparable to fel iron you can also skill with Enchanted Thorium Blades to 330 (when it turns green). also learned from BS trainer in thrallmar
There is but you need like 54% crit or some shit so good luck hitting it
I flew to the guy in shadow moon and he had the plans I was looking for. Not sure what’s up with the Thrallmar guy
Okay, was just afraid it was the same as in vanilla where auto attacks capped on 29,8% crit or so
Wonder if I need to restart the game with no add-ons or something
I cant get the weaponsmith quest for some reason
Anyone know sweeping strikes + cleave interaction?
I need to try and parse really high for high king tonight
Cleave hits 2 targets, each hit uses a stack of sweeping strikes
So if theyre grouped enough it hits 4 times and uses 2 stacks of sweeping strikes
Was another mob near the guy that gives quest.
what is going on here.... They've been here doing this almost all day
are these bots?
its a pretty solid place to farm
marks of sargares and fel armaments
they keep respawning
?
Ragesteel Shoulders/Breastplate and Fel Leather Boots for buyable shit
Shoot for Lionheart Blade if you can
Expertise ring from lower city exalted is not bad.
do we talk abt pvp here 2
Is there a list of P1 BiS gear?
I found https://wowtbc.gg/bis-list/arms-warrior/
but almost all of it is crafted / badges / rep
Find the best combination of gear for every phase of The Burning Crusade with a list of alternatives, drop locations, rates, and how to gem and enchant them.
None of it is tier pieces?
Use wowheads. It’s updated for tbc classic
Noob question here... but is there a way to let some1 craft an item with your primal nethers?
Like maybe you can put them in the "will not be traded slot" or something? idk... lol
No
I want to level a tank warrior now, should I level as fury or arms if I still want to tank dungeons while leveling? thanks
Go fury 1-68 but can skip Rampage. Dont need "tank" gear in dungeons as long as its plate and has stamina. 60-68 stretch you probably want to use sword&board. To focus on dungeon tanking a bit once in Outlands you can go something like 8/31/13 at 61. No real downside when it comes to questing either. 68-70 if you wish to focus on tanking respecc deep prot. It will be a lot better.
very cool thanks man
Which warrior spec should I play while levelling? Once I reach 70, which one should I play? I´ve heard warriors are not very popular in tbc. Ty
Also, which are the best professions for warriors (PvE)
My experience while leveling, was protection is a very "safe" but boring spec to level as. You are very insulated against getting wrecked once you have a decent gear setup. It's just SLOW
Blacksmithing is very useful (and required for Arms) while leveling. Sharpening stones were super useful.
hi guys, is there a good guide for what the best pre-arena pvp gears are in P1?
it's all pretty straightforward, get honour gear. honour gear takes a long time to get though so be prepared for a long grind
starting next tuesday you'll be able to get the equivalent of the honour set from faction vendors, you need honoured with one of the five major heroic factions for each piece
Plan, track and share gear sets for your Burning Crusade Classic characters.
something like this would be easy to get while you work towards building honour and arena points
use your honour on offpieces and start earning arena points asap, try to get a 5s team together and crank out 10 fast games. the points build up quickly and it takes significantly less effort to get arena gear than it does honour gear
thank you!!
hey guys, anyone know the ideal 1h dual wield arms spec set-up ? can't find anything proper
Anyone tested deep arms build in PVE? How bad is it?
hi, im lvl 45 atm, what is the recommanded specc for levling untill outland ?
Hey Guys, for those who will be going fire resistant for the Leotheras fight.... do you know if you also need to remain def capped or just Fire Resistant capped? do you have any articles about it aswell? cant seem to find anything.
Typically you will have a warlock with fire resistance tank that fight @tall atlas
Anyone know where a good BIS list for arms warrior is ? Something with gear rankings
Anyone have sheet on 1 hander wep progression for Fury dps?
So question. I have almost full Phase 1 BiS yet I am not able to break 350 damage on a target. is this normal? How do I increase my dps without sacrificing too much def?
do you have logs?
https://classic.warcraftlogs.com/reports/2HZQxW4CADKw3t7g is my latest gruul/mag. Use Mag as I think I died on Gruul
I think you are heroic striking too much - shield slam is going to be better output since you are just exchanging your auto attack for the heroic strike
that will help with threat as well if thats an issue single target
https://classic.warcraftlogs.com/reports/hfTv2AZjJawDM4m9#fight=1&type=damage-done&source=21 log from our prot warrior, our fight is much shorter but your shield slams are almost the same number @real plinth
and it doesnt look like you are getting windfury? what kind of group are you in?
My group doesn't have enough shaman to provide me windfury so I'm stuck with stones
And threat isn't a problem, I'm just trying to increase my overall DPS for everything across-the-board
then yeah besides just making sure you have rage for shield slam and itemizing more for dps, you wont get much higher than 350 dps on a prot warrior unfortunately
So pretty much deva, deva, SS, Deva, HS, SS or something like that
yeah and revenge is also insane but im sure you are using that on activation
id say heroic strike is only important if you are getting more rage than you can spend
if you are getting hit hard enough to heroic strike every auto and shield slam on cooldown, you are 100% fine to do that
