how affects the +5 axe skill from orcs to game? is reall that good? or i can pick another race
For wotlk coming as an arms warrior. Does slam still reset the auto attack swing timer? meaning we're weaving slams after autos
nvm i found my answer, if those had a similar question for slam the answer is it doesn't reset it as it does now it just delays it slightly while casting pauses the auto attack timer
So what would guys recommend for leveling 10-60. Fury or Arms (TBC server).
Typically I do arms 10-20, then will swap to fury if I get boosted through DM to get 2 cruel barbs, then I'll swap back to arms for WW axe and continue with arms to 52. Then at 52 I'll buy 2 Krol Blades and level as fury until I get a decent TBC axe.
It's not the most efficent way but it's the way I do it
Issue is if you PVP with fury you tend to get clapped
Not if it's instant casts IIRC
I got a dilemma. I got ragesteel shoulders+gloves and rep honored blue helm as fury - Soon with badges and arena points i can either go 2x badge weps (fists) but then i loose exp cap (got shard tho) or i stick with my current weps (heartless from za and 1.5 vengeful offhand) and remain exp cap and buy 60 badge shoulders and vengeful head. What do you guys think? id hate to "waste" points/badges on the wrong items
exp cap doesnt really matter at all its just a matter of buying the biggest upgrades

this video is pure gold.. so true and fun XD
Does the new xp buff make a big difference to levelling now?
Yeah it’s 50% more gains
It does big time
Good Morning. Is there somewhere I can more easily find an arena partner?
Any thoughts on if I should stick to being arms@45 or switch over to fury?
Any active wotlk content?
Fight club looked like it stopped at t5
All dead I see. Warlock disc is thuper active
So i just got berserker stance and I was wondering if I should use that or keep using my battle stance
Anyone know if its still worth chasing glaives? Or just wait for TG to drop?
Personally I think if you can get glaives then go for it for the cool factor.
Otherwise take it easy before naxx
Fight club has wotlk discussion and p5 tbc, wdym???
i don't see any disc talk about wotlk like i do in other class discords.
Every warlock spec is being considered one of the best dps in wrath. Prob just more ppl who will re roll
Literally Multiple channel for Best check again 😂
Play some DK build if you wanna top dick. Wlock won’t be that good in comparison, shit doesn’t live long enough for dots
That’s weird, this is all I see….
Yup even left and rejoin, I don’t see that channel
And I see why, I didn’t read the bot channel info
Nope, not even close to what I was saying. I was just offering a reason lock disc is popping off. I’m sticking with my warrior tyvm
Hey, anyone planning to duo/solo lvl utgarde keep in wotlk? what kind of gear are you planning to run in your prot/arms spec?
I'm level 16 and barely starting Ghostlands
https://tbc.wowhead.com/item=30009/the-burning-crusader https://tbc.wowhead.com/item=25762/honed-voidaxe#comments
Just hit 70 and looking to go into PvP, which weapon should I grab?
This blue two-handed axe has an item level of 109. It is a quest reward from Nexus-King Salhadaar. In the Two-Handed Axes category. Always up to date.
doesnt rly matter, you want to get an epic 2h asap so what you use in the meanwhile makes little to no difference
Any alliance players on the pagle server wanna help a fellow warrior get the whirlwind axe?
Levling a Warrior with a pockerhealer all the time, whats the fastest specc for it?
Arms
Hey, is Prot viable in wotlk? ^^
Yes
Of course it’s viable
People are so hung up on how “tanky” blood and prot paladins are but then Naxx hit beta and lo and behold nothing actually hits that hard outside of patchwerk
So really you’re just looking at like hysteria from blood and the utility from prot pally as the only reason you’d really care that much, but tbh shattering throw is actually probably better than hysteria anyways for your overall raid dps
Does missing attacks/generating rage get better at 70 with better gear?
Because right now I feel like it's hard to get much rage
yeah better gear will improve rage gen
Missing attacks gets worse the further your level is from your target. Also your missing will become worse as you level because your flat hit rating will be worth less hit %. Warrior bread and butter is crit, windfury, and haste procs(dst, glaive, lust). So the more of those you get the better your rage gen will be
So a level 70 attacking a level 73 is going to need 142 hit rating for 2h melee or 1h/2h yellow attacks to guarantee not miss(can still be dodged, maybe parried, maybe blocked, and white hits can glance)
Dodge and parry can be reduced by expertise which is basically works the same as hit unless you’re a tank then it’s 2x value of hit until softcap(6.5% dodge reduction) which is all the dodge bosses have but it is not hard cap because boss parry is ~14% so after expertise softcap a tank will get equal value out of hit and expertise
are 2 dragonstrikes better than 1 dragonstrike and the merciless offhand sword?
Why merciless???
Just get s3
Also use tbc sim for that 100%
Dstrike and s3 offhand is quite good
What is the name of the s3 one?
Vengeful I think
That costs arena points tho
Even after s4 came out?
Ya
Then do arena
XD
Anybody know of somebody has made a leveling guide or the like for WOTLK? That goes over optimal paths for reputations as well
And war will feel sadge
if*
Ok thx
WAnt my rep guide?
Get friendly with any of them and spam dungeons with tabard
Is Spirit an ok stat for warrior in classic?
health regen out of combat seems like it might be ok, i know str stam is ideal but like, i shouldnt just completely ignore spirit right?
spirit is pretty good for leveling in tbc and vanilla
its nigh completely useless in raids
Warrior does have the best hps:spirit ratio but they also don’t have mana for it to regen. That said you want to minimize your mob attacking time as a warrior so I wouldn’t recommend spirit at all. Probably more like str>agi≈stam>armor
This is for if you’re willing to also keep some bandages, food, and health pots on hand which anyone bold enough to quest on a warrior should
First aid is your best friend
Hey will be leveling on a fresh server as prot..is there any guide about weapon progression someplace? Playing tauren
Anyone figure out if when prepatch hits if gearing for Titans Grip will be viable?
So will i not be able to get my berserker stance/whirlwind axe solo? Im on the chest piece level 28 quest and my server is dead, and I have no friends who play wow so Ive been unable to get into razorfen to get the last quest item for the chest
Any help?
Early wow was very much about collaboration
Sadly you'll have to make due
A dead server is a curse, transfer.
not sure if there is a definitve answer but which dps spec is gonna be the best at the start of wrath for pve content?
Spellhance
Hi, I'm looking to play wotlk with prot warrior in horde side. Any suggestions which race would be the best for pve tanking? Thinking between tauren and orc
doesnt really matter tbf but if you want to minmax id say tauren for the extra aoe stun and extra hp 😉
thanks, yeah I think I'll have to minmax since reputation on prot warrs in wotlk is kinda sad lol
Thanks for the response! I am mainly solo speed leveling on my own so was sorta looking for non dungeon weapon/shield progression
Just quest in barrens, some upgrades here and there
The traveling vendor from xroads to rachet has a 1h sword or 2
iirc
So Im pretty new to Wow classic but am i the only one who thinks overpower is fucking useless?
Its only usable after a dodge which, i never get to use overpower because my enemies never dodge
Is there a talent that allows me to use it more often orrr is it just a useless ability?
Oh hell yeah
Just think of it as a nice bonus when you miss
when ur using 2h and get the talent with 50% bonus crit chance on overpower its actually pretty nice
you'll get on a point where enemies do dodge your abilities, and then itll be a really strong attack
Definetly will be a stronger spell in Wrath
at rank 3, its a 100% to proc
so basically a free overpower every 6 seconds
It's disgusting in pvp
Stacking sbv with arp prot in wotlk pvp, can't wait
Don’t forget fury slam procs too ^^
any wrath theorycrafters?
Suuuure I did math back in 2008
Ive been really having a hard time with talents, not really used to classic quite yet
Is this a decent arms setup?
For pvp?
Pve
Nice! Than you can tell me whether incite is worth taking for phase 1?
Not for DPS, prot has a bit more wiggle
Looking for insight on building threat on mobs and even staying ahead when main tanking bosses. Currently finding out that using more dps gear has been helping but let’s talk about rotation typically I charge > thunderclap > shield slam> devastate > revenge shield slam > revenge on cool down after that tab target same rotation if I am pulling multiple mobs Cleave sometimes but I find to targeting deals better threat. All of this and keeping battle shout thunder clap up Any thoughts or rotations you guys wanna jump in shed some light what works for you
I’m also moving most mitigation gear off for threat gear using 3 pc brutal so I get some chunky stats and the resilience is nice
In tbc tanking multiple targets is legitimately tab sunder spam cleave
It gets easier in wotlk
That’s gonna be nice
I’ve never played wrath
A lot of warriors talk about “snap threat “ anyone wanna break that down for me ? Is that pop a dps trinket cd tab target with a shield slam ?
Snap aggro is being able to really frontload threat so a DPS won't pull it off even if they engage at the same time
Cleave is awful for threat, prio is mostly ss>hs>dev
On bosses and heathy mobs tho you want to devastate to 5 stacks of sunder tho because it makes all your other abilities much stronger
Tclap is ok early on a pack or for reducing damage on a boss
A big help with snap threat is berserker rage pre pull
Also let me see talents
Also I never charge 99% time there’s no need to be out of defensive stance
Depends on the content and on your healers. At the end of the day prot war threat never scaled enough for black temple bis gear and sunwell geared dps doing their rotation correctly
I had full pvp, tank, and dps gear I would mix and match for raiding and different fights
Can’t miss revenge procs, and can’t be too low on rage when ss comes off cooldown (usually when tanking trash mobs they die so fast I just ss the first kill target and then dev/hs spam on the others)
If you have a crazy pumper group in a dungeon u can kind of get away with tclap, warstomp, taunt spam, and ss on barely damaged mobs
But at the end of the day unless you have a coordinated group, there will always be a mob chasing a caster on 3+ packs… and it’s tbc so u may be undergeared and miss/parry/get dodged on your important ss casts
So that being said make sure you have intervene on a comfortable bind
Most dungeons are ~30 mins so also keep challenging shout on CD if all your other tools (taunt, intervene, ss) are down since you’ll be able to get a few off per run, and there aren’t really THAT many packs that will require a challenging shout
Great insight thanks guys
u ever going to show me talents?
can someone help me im new to warri in tbc. Lvl 40 atm, in wich spec i lvl and by using which weapons?
swap 1/3 shield mastery for 2/2 taunt. its just qol having 8s taunt, dungeons especially
Hi there!
What's your recommendation for the weapon to buy with honor pts for the pre patch, knowing that the mace and sword specs are not as good as in TBC and that the s4 two handed axe has no strength (and that the skin is hideous :D)
As an orc arms warrior pvp
As an orc, the axe
1 the expertise still counts, 2 the AP equivalent is fine, 3 crit spec still boss.
4 it's getting replaced shortly into wotlk
thanks!
no
What should i change about it?
Folks, how hard is heroic 10 or heroic 25 in WOTLK compared to like, retail content?
i solo both in retail, no problem at all
😂
Has anyone looked at pre-patch glaves specs
Super excited to play around with it I was just curious if anybody else had any thoughts of non-Titan grip specs for pre-patch
WOLTK raids are not hard compare to retail at all. Naxx is a joke, you maybe need to do a bit more than classic or tbc but nothing crazy.
I remember no light in the darkness and Algalon being no joke at the time
Will probably be the first sweaty encounters
All of naxx will be a joke
I mean at the time, but all fight are Min max to hell with many guides. You won’t need to farm@consumables like in classic Naxx that’s for sure.
Oh for sure, things get so much better for us in wrath just overall
Yogg and algalon are the first fights that will be comparable to modern mythic
Togc is mostly about stacking the right comp
And algalon is only hard because of the insane healing and DPS check, mechanics wise he's pretty simple
Dude hits like Bruce Lee in the hulks body
We have some top world mythic retail healers in our retail core and some other folks that just want to play wotlk because we think season 4 is shit
So based on all that was said here, I think we'll be just fine lmao
Yeah way more guilds Will be getting their titans title
The real challenge is getting immortal
Naxx 25 full clear, zero deaths
Oh that sounds fun
Did you get drunk and roll a character on classic
hey guys, quick question. Which abbilities should I buy and level up from 1-70? As I belive some of them wont be needed on arms warrior, might be wrong tho D:
Lmfao
You need every ability
You should have a tank set on your warrior even if you play arms
Drunk? No. Getting ready for Wrath? Yes.
@livid fulcrum I think WoW head has a decent article on what to buy while leveling to save gold. But you will buy everything eventually.
You should atleast get every ability rank 1. But some abilities are just not worth upgrading early on if you're short on gold.
If you google something like abilities worth uprading warrior tbc
It should pop up
yeah I have looked up tbc warrior guid on wowhead as Zehedz advised, found everything I needed there, thanks lads!
should i look to wow head, icy veins or someone who can share a prot warrior leveling build?
can any1 help me with my classic fury warrior?
Is weapon swing timer something that still gets used in wotlk?
Iirc yes for arms
Can anyone help me with some macro resources or guides for tbc classic/wrath classic for fury warrior? Most of the ones I have found have been mostly just start attack macros but I was under the impression for optimal play I'd need to macro stances and such. Any help is appreciated
@elfin spruce So Fury and Prot do not really use it then?
Prot never uses slam, fury gets instant cast slam proc iirc
I mean if you're jousting it can be handy, but optimizing slam casts was the primary use of swing timers... cancelling hs as well I guess for that janky mischance thing too...
Good to know, rather not use wst if I dont have to.
That has been depleted for years there is a weakaura used now
It is in the fight club arms channel
@dawn pivot leveling as Prot from@1 is not adviced you can tank as arm just fine. I would use wowhead personally for tbc
I have a question for those who played a fury warrior back when wrath originally released. Was having ARP on your gear and gems even worth it prior to 3.3? Is it better to at least get as much as you can or not even bother and go all STR gear and gems? Has anyone tested this on the beta?
Always get what you can
ARP has a soft cap around 700 where it will become better then strength, so you typically don’t gem arp until you can get past softcap
Doesn’t need to be tested, it is a sim question that is answered on 100000 warmane forums
And why would anyone who played when wrath was originally released know much about arp softcaps and minmax’d gear progression
I just remember grinding grim toll
yo, titans grip available in 4 days (prepatch)?
Fury will giga suck til toc dont get baited
Yes
guys where is easiest way to level up weapon skill ? probably to go afk or watch some yt...
Right outside the dark portal there are level 50- something mobs that never die
You pull one into a corner and afk attack it depending on your level/ spec
The Fastest Way To Level Weapon Skill in Classic WoW (Vanilla and TBC). Leveling your weapon skill can be a real pain, but using this strategy its pretty afk. Do some work, watch some videos, eat dinner, do whatever you want and raise your weapon skill to max while doing it.
If you enjoyed the video please be sure to like, comment, subscribe, a...
Make sure you get some green intellect pieces and a mage buff before you go, you will level your weapon skill much faster
If you can stack enough intellect, you can actually just go to rfc, or stockades and run through swinging at stuff
Also get a gray or green with the shortest swing timer you can find
any one there
thanks mate, geez is so consuming 🙂 349 > 350 especially
Yes that last level sucks but if you have a insane amount of intellect it will be quick
new warrior - is it best to get the get bs 1h maces now or just farm raids for 2h fury
should i get the 2hs from there instead
Fury isn't very good until icc iirc, so just go arms
Dunno how they are in prepatch
fury takes off with full bis icc
buy s4 2h axe come prepatch (this tue if na, wed if eu) its like 19k honor. axe is better regardless of race. for fury weapon type doesnt matter and for arms axe spec wins.
solo questing arms should be best choice and arms is most likely best dps spec for warrior in p1 raids
for prepatch raid shenanigans like talent buold suggestiions and more check the wowhead wotlk warrior guides. they are excellent
Takes off is an understatement, it's competitive in bis ulduar gear, it absolutely destroys every other class in icc
Idk if people are basing the fury performance on the 3.0 data, since back then tg had another 5% miss baked in on all attacks
Grox sim tool for wrath is out in alpha status so there is no reason to feelscraft. Just put in gear, config and see what it looks like at different gear lvls
Yup, I'll be honest, I'm a traitor, went druid for a change of pace, I also like healing but don't like paladin and at least as bur I have a rage bar
And feral has been fun on beta
The double maul on trash with full dps gear on is pure pog
I used to "dual main" war/shm to scratch the healing bug, but probably won't have time to play that much
Yeah I’m just making a toon to play with a bud extremely casually here and there, I don’t even know when I’ll be 80 by
Went too ham on classic/ classic like private servers the last few years
Will probably have a priest I was thinking
Can’t transfer my Tauren warrior with BT/sunwell gear to my buddy’s setup on alliance
Ynot
Not yet at least
I thought they weren’t adding it on release for classic
Could be a delay I didn't see
hey ,I know this probably has been asked a lot of times but I didnt see any pinned messages, what would you say is the best spec to level right now from 1-70 if I want to be mostly questing but being able to tank some pre-tbc dungeons?
Starting tomorrow, prot
Wotlk prot while leveling can potentially out dmg fury/arms while taking very little dmg
Doesn't matter much prior to 40 though
Yeah In retail
I'm seeing 2 specs for pre patch on wow head one for titans grip and one for deep wounds with 1 handers anyone know what the go to will be or is it super gear dependent I have t5 two handers but murumasa and mounting vengeance for one handers not sure what to go and might have raid like right when servers come back on any suggestions:)
gut feeling is muramas/mounting vengeance and deep wounds build vs t5 two-handers but s4 two-handers are 19k each and honor gains are upped. you might just go for those? in which case i think tg wins. but like raids are getting an across the board 30% hp nerf and we are gaming with 3.3.5 class balance. shit will melt so optimising for 4 weeks of gameplay is not time well spent. @late loom
yea definitely not worrying about it to much got a dk to lvl hahaha but which spec would you recommend slapping on if id have to hop right into a raid the deep wounds 1 handers or titans grip?
like i wrote, probably the better weapons which are your swp 1handers. main benefit of 1hr in tbc is they have juicy stats whereas 2hs tend to lack stats. 2hs have their weapon dps though but if your best 2h is from t5? then id wager muramasa/mv is what you go for. once again, wowhead wotlk fury guide covers it. there is a section about prepatch gearing 🙂
Can we have a little moment for our good friend? Goodnight sweet prince.
On a fresh prot warrior in pre patch does anyone recommedn any specific pvp peices ?
Is it worth to run 2x brutal axe 2h as orc fury in prepatch even tho it has AP and not STR?
Any wep macro for 2x 2handed brutal weps that work
equipslot does not go well with identical weps
I know I leveled as prot
Back in worlk
Stack sbv get autoblocker and one shot people in wsg
you guys regemming all str since the scaling with imp zerker stance i guess eh
Fury in prepatch
But yeah str scales great with sbv
did you figure this out? i want to farm s4 gear but unsure how to gem/enchant it to ensure revenge procs happen all the time - there is very little/no avoidance on the gear itself but I can gem for defense/dodge
U Don’t really need dodge, and don’t need defense for leveling (a full set off pvp gear should make you crit immune) so you should go some combination of hit, Stam, and strength
If it were me I would go all strength unless I’m getting wrecked by the dungeon mobs(which certainly should not happen) or missing a lot
Enchants you go mongoose on weapon and strength/hit/Stam on gloves, boots, wrist etc as needed
Make sure you remember Stam for shield too
@forest ibex awesome, thanks!
Shield block will force revenge alot
Yeah pretty much all the time
The 2x sunder glyph is awesome for dungeons too
Same with the glyph that reduces shockwave cooldown
Best part of prepatch, warriors start with 2h now.
60/40s cd for 10s
Not worth. Stam is waaaaaaay better be it raid or dungeon group or dungeon solo. Your not lacking dmg. You just want a bigger hp pool to either pull bigger (if group) or chain pull more (if solo) with one hp bar.
Depends on what you are aiming for? I assume not raid tank since Unrelenting Assault build is trash for boss tanking. If its for like a proper 5man dungeon blast then full S4 is perfectly fine as either UA or deep prot build.
But if your looking to solo Utgarde Keep its not good enough. You'll be taking a lot of dmg. Full pvp set offers 6 sockets so thats 60 defense or other combo of gems. Resilience does nothing, armor pen does nothing. Crit is ok but not enough to compensate a substantial increase in dmg taken. If your looking to farm/boost people in Sethekk you might be able to pull it off.
In general str is dogass to gem/enchant as prot. You want stam everywhere.
it's definitely more of the "solo Utgarde Keep" - not necessarily full send with the spec but what is my limit with brutal gear? can I easily two/three man the dungeon with a healer?
I mean if you got 1-2 lads with you there is no limitation 🙂 S4 will only feel limiting if you properly expect to solo it 🙂
okay that's fair - do you know brutal gear is a better option for this than say prebis tanking gear? trying to figure out how to best focus my time
Its gonna be impossible to beat the efficiency of literally every slot pvp so if your limitation is time then concede the pve choices and just settle for pvp setup. As I mentioned it is perfectly adequate if you are doing 2-3+ man shenanigans for 70-80 lvling. Honor you can do solo and requires no setup. Anything else requires substantial effort.
You can build a pretty good "budget" setup if you collect badges but that requires you running basically every raid possible for every reset left and and hopefully picking up some value pieces a long the way for free. I mean I didnt check the math on potential of maximum amount of badges left to earn but if you play around on eightyupgrades you can see the prices.
How worth is that effort for almost no difference? Its also basically just SWP pieces that are truly interesting with a couple from BT I suppose. Pugging is also volatile. Depending on who is in the group and what the loot rules you could be cucked expecting to get loot that 2 weeks ago was completely free as tank.
awesome, great information - thanks
So guys what would be the best talents progression for prot warrior in wotlk a Unrelenting Assault Spec or a Normal tanking ?
Doing dungeons and questing ofc
UA is good when you fight like 2-5 mobs and can secure revenge proc every 1s. It demands a bit more on gear to have high avoidance. You could pull more to create more opportunity to proc with less gear but that also means your taking more dmg but your dmg effectiveness is limited to 2-3 target cleave. If your gear is lacking then go deep prot. Wont matter when doing quests and is more versatile for 5man. On the flipside, we got dual spec now so why not setup both and try both out? 🙂
Yeah probably i will go UA since i'll be doing quest and 5-man content
Deep prot does not lack in aoe department, thunder clap only suffers less dmg on >20 targets and shockwave has a 20s cd
Couldn't take the anemic bur damage grabbed my classic warrior and just oneshotting mobs with revenge such joy
Why would you gem all Stam when the wotlk dungeons are meant to be run with tempest keep dungeon blues, and most have full brutal gear. Might as well push damage and get some extra sbv for the many small hits you are taking in the dungeon or for questing
The healer is going to need to heal more the more you pull no matter the size of your health pool
I could see Stam stacking for solo dungeons maybe though
doing 10x8 str equals 40 more block value whereas 8 stam gem is 1200 hp. you are not lacking in kill speed. pull bigger if you aren't losing hp. thats how you go faster. no copium amounts of added dmg via str is gonna solve that. swapping a trinket is a way more efficient way to gain 1200 stam worth of dmg.
Copium added damage via strength
It is not copium it is real numbers
If you’re not dying you want to be doing more damage
If you ar enot dying you arent pulling enough. Back to warmane forums lad
Wtf
There are limits to mana and dps aoe
U realize ss in the only thing that doesn’t scale off attack power
That means shockwave and tclap and revenge will be hugely juiced
1200 hp isn’t true make or break of pulling an entire room
It is pull route and comp
1200 hp vs 160 ap / 40 block value / 50 ap contribution to revenge
its pretty clear a trinket swap will do more
Then run str gems and dps trinkets
If you are crit immune and close enough to hit cap you go damage
There’s no tank buster you have to live through lol
ya dont need crit immunity in dungeon
your saying get crit cap but also admitting no tank buster [in dungeon]
Crit cap is something else
2head gamer here, no need to discuss more from my pov. agree to disagree 🙂
I mean you can be close to crit immune
Every level you will be further away
With the same gear
Crit cap has nothing to do with tanking
And a “tank buster” can easily be magic or blocked so Stam is typically the best way around it, none of which you’ll be dealing with in a dungeon
Also how can you say “you are not lacking in kill speed “ you are always lacking in kill speed if the mobs are not being killed in one global on pull , and the same goes for tanking, if you are not dying you are not lacking defenses
And if we go waaaaay back you see I recommend at the own player’s discretion
how would u level a warr now in the prepatch? prot? and is there an easier race to level? wanna get to 70 before wrath drops
basically the most optimal setup for leveling a warr
Way revenge is feeling I would just go sword and board and rush UA talent from 1-70
This
I dusted off my 45 war just to see how the lower levels are and prot can snag groups of mobs and just shred them while laughing off hits
yea revenge spec is so bonkers, definitely recommend
so with pre patch on the wing, which is the better dps spec to roll out with. i have some sunwell and brutal gear?
Protection
So I just hit 67 in nagrand, is it worth finishing up the quests there or just go straight to netherstorm now?
Im a human arms warr farming out brutal gear. Should I get the axe for the 5% crit? or get the mace for the expertise and armor pen?
Axe spec beats racial
Yeo
dont warriors rely on armor pen a lot in woltk though?
Axe is 5 flat crit and 5 crit dmg
I mean you don’t pass on the crit dmg meta either
there's a switch from Crit to Armor Pen for Warriors somewhere late in Ulduar / early TOC depending on your drop luck, and whether or not you get the Runestone from Thorim. We then hard cap Arpen with DBW and have to start watching gear so we don't waste stat budget. Arms switches earlier than fury thanks to Battle Stance. But for Tier 7, it's hit cap, exp cap, and crit all the way
What is the gladiator build for WoTLK I keep seeing mentioned in game? Google search just brings up an old stance that isn’t in game anymore
Prot hits like a truck in wotlk
Yeah I’m enjoying it and I found the build they mean. It’s an arms/prot hybrid build that utilized big revenge hits to solo 2-3 dungeon mobs at a time I guess. I’m just going to stick deep prot spec and play it out I think. Interesting build though
Since I haven't seen it posted anywhere in this thread, I'll try and summarize the axe versus sword versus mace thing. I haven't found the wrath EJ archive like we had for BC, but they did the definitive work, and it's absolutely Axe > Sword > Mace. Roughly speaking
axe = 3.25% damage (50% of 5% + 5% of 5% of 50%)
Sword = 3% damage (10% of 60 swings per min x 30% of total dmg) Sword spec can proc off anything, but only procs white damage, and white will be roughly 30% of damage for arms
Mace = 2 - 2.25% Damage (ignored armor is a really complicated calculation, but IIRC, is was about 2.25, without racial); the human racial is worth .75% dodge, bringing it close to 3.
While I don't know exactly what the breakpoint is when comparing across weapons of different ilevels - to be simmed for classic - the reality is there are axes or polearms off every end boss in every tier, with interim stage axes from earlier bosses. So axes will be your go to choice from heroic dungeon blues all the way to Shadowmourne
Are they going to give prot blood and thunder midway through wrath like before?
Thats cataclysm, not wrath.
Blood and thunder made my small wiener the big wiener
Hey guys got a question the talents Cruelty benefits the crit chance of revenge?
revenge?
Ye ofcourse
i tought it was only the autoattacks
Global crit
any guides for wotlk prepatch ?
Wowhead guides are excellent
yoo, i have an boosted warrior from TBC. Is there any content for leveling 58 ~70 with the WOTLK prepatch ?
It's called "the burning crusade"
The wowhead guide says to take points in upgrading rend yet the rotation guide doesn't mention using it, why's that?
what 2h should i go for after whirlwind axe? im currently 52
Its good for taste for blood
Anything that does more damage and is slow speed, just upgrade like normal until you’re 70 don’t worry about it too much
hey, is there an optimal talent tree to go when levelling 1-70 as a warrior in classic? I respeced to prot as revenge seemed op but im not sure if thats the optimal way
bladestorm big
Prot all the way
Prot, go to improved revenge ASAP. At 58 you can switch to arms/prot hybrid for even more revenge brokenness
Get glyph of cleaving, all talents that improve thunderclap, and mow down 3-5 mobs per pull in the speed of 1 mob in classic era....
yooo! i bring questions about raids in WOTLK....
is there any logs from PTR?
arms or fury? im a bit out about LK 🙂
Hey guys! If I’m a noob in the classic/wotlk field(i play retail a lot) would 2 and a half weeks(break) be enough time to hit level 70?
50% xp buff still up and running until northrend gates open september 26 so i think you can finish 1-70 in like 7 days without sweating too much
Oh yeah easy, levels absolutely fly, especially with a good guide addon it's a breeze now
Doing 30-50m levels at 35 now as a warrior
And I'm a slacker
Do you just spec up to Improved Revenge and then jump into the arms tree? Or you do you commit to prot tree until you're 58?
what resets the revenge cool down?
unrelenting assault talent in arms tree. doesnt reset. makes it 1s cd
i would go down arms starting from 1. you get too much juice from arms tree
alternatively, start with prot to get improved revenge and shield mastery. since you can get both of those at 23 already whereas to reach unrelenting assault you need 46. can also do one or the other and just respec when you've gained some levels. i am fairly convinced it wont matter too much. like, is it bigger to have revenge cleave early on or get sweeping strikes to cleave, with a glyph to boot? shield spec and parry talents are same as its another 5% to proc revenge. arms does have imp charge for more rage but prot could pick up thunder clap for a cheaper thunder clap that also adds to aoe dmg.
I'm already lvl 33, and started in Arms, so I stayed with it. I've picked up Sweeping Strikes. I've just been going sword/board with arms spec. It's been working so far. If things go south I swap to defensive stance. Trying to figure out how to setup my bars, macros to make life easier though. Way different than live. lol
Imo, 12pt into prot to get revenge dmg/cleave and TC crit chance, then arms until that part os filled out, and finish with the bonus defensive talents out of prot
Does anyone happen to have a pawn string for the prot wotlk stat weights? I found an old Elitist Jerks document with weights but it was for tbc.
fury is S tier in end end game
but for most of the game arms and fury are b tierish
ya they're both about the same the first two tiers
but arms brings bf and trauma for your raid
Can i stay in character select after getting out of queue
or do i have to log into a character
Fast for threat, slow for more damage
prot abilities are mostly based off attack power so fast is just better
and not weapon damage
Is this prepatch event live with the rare that drops Arcanite Rippere?
I believe so, yes
Is there a bug that stops deep wounds from proccing? None of my crits are applying it to anything all of a sudden
Hi, can anyone tell me what brutal weapon I buy as prot?
axe
doesnt really matter now that threat is effectively non-factor. speed is only a way to dump rage quicker via hs which is usually only relevant in raid setting
check wotlk wowhead. they have a guide that explains the event
anyone good with macros?
Yh
Do you have it talented?
Is it plugged in?
Yeah I did I had to respec and just talent the same way and it worked
Not sure what caused the bug
Do you have talent confirmation on?
Is your monitor on?
Did you feed the hamster?
if your car filled up enough?
Ah upgraded to a ratzen 7000 I see.
Totally empty on headlight fluid, that's gotta be it.
damn yeah, the blinkerfluid
could anyone link me a chart on how to build a lvl 60 warrior for lvling?
I've heard about this prot/arms build
I’ve been using the icy veins build with revenge and heroic strike glyphs. Start in prot, then dip into arms. Been working great.
Do you usually AoE with cleave/shield then or go DW?
I’ve been rocking shield and one hand since blocks proc revenge and that’s your major damage.
Awesome, will try it 😄
👍
Shield means you can pull big
is this build viable on a lower level character? i just started
do i just play 1hander shield
it's definitely viable
you just want to go down prot first, which means that revenge cdr doesn't come online until quite a bit later
Why HS over Cleave?
That is a very good question and I think the answer is, no.
Been using a deep prot build and soloing some dungeons as I level up, zf at 50 wasn't bad
I’ve mostly been soloing, so my pull size has been about two mobs. The extra rage from heroic strike is nice. If you’re more comfortable doing large pulls or instance grinding cleave would probably be a better choice.
Yeah, I've been leveling a new warrior (faction swapped) since prepatch dropped, switching back and forth between arms and this prot build to see how they feel comparatively
Overpower glyph adding parry to triggers, sweeping strikes back, and TfB letting you flat out force overpower once you get there...feels really good too
armor pen
hey fellas. is there an addon that displays when u have a Bloodsurge proc? looking for something minimalistic, literally just pops up somewhere (moveable preferably)
https://wago.io/mzhhXrejH I use this wa, quite handy since it also has taste for blood and sudden death in case of going arms
Hey! I was wondering what is the minimum gear for tanking in wotlk when lvling. i'm currently farming AV for brutal gear. can you tank early dungeons with brutal gear in wotlk or do you need some kind of deff rating? (new dinged prot war)
I mean, you CAN tank dungeons in Brutal gear, but you're going to have crap for avoidance, so you'll get chunked, that being said, it won't matter a whole lot as you level
Unlike druids, sadly warriors still need defense rating.
However we hit like trucks even in defensive stuff so...
Yeah you will be able to tank dungeons you will just need a healer which sunwell geared tanks will likely not really need until like 74 or so
I’m a feral Druid and we are just running me as tank with a ret paladin to heal with the instant flash of lights, should be all we need for awhile
As alch/ herb I can heal myself using pots, the herbalism heal and frenzied Regen without slowing down much, bur is stronk
5/5 s4, weapon and shield are excellent choices for fresh warrior. you will lack avoidance but make up for it massively in stam, str and armor so it won't make a difference. if you are going for proper 5man or like at the very least liek 3man for wotlk lvling it is more than adequate. ideal would be to fill out the other slots with badge gear or raid drops but of course requires more investment. even if you start your northrend adventures with nothing but the firstmentioned pvp slots and quest reward greens on the rest it will be fine. northrend is designed to be done as lvl 68 cuck anyways.
I wonder how the tier list will be. I’m sure we will still be C tier Andys. I remember when WotlK retail came out, TG had a huge miss chance, but the xpac is starting without that thank god. I wonder if it changes tier at least a little better…but without all that armor pen dunno :/
Fury is still very reliant on gearing so not really
Much better off playing arms for at least the first tier
Gearing easier, provides raid utility
As long as the rogues are getting the 4% melee buff they won't care too much on how the disc priests are beating you
30% on bleeds too
Feral thanks you for saving them a GCD, chances are most setups will be running a druid ot
is questing the best way to get gold on a fresh server?
trying to farm out epic flying before patch
Any arms warrior BiS lists yet for pre raid in wrath?
Gonna be hard to do heroic mode when you need 5 healers just for that squishyedgeboi
So that removes pal and dk from the tank pool
Combat rogue gives the same 4%
Unlucky
Won't assassin be the play until high arp though
Yeah if you have a warrior already you prefer Assa
I think you can play a haste/hit build for combat pre icc , post naxx, and compete but who cares about yellow names
quest the zones at 70 and do island dailies. if you can have a friend help you DE green boe items and flip that shit on ah. i reckon still plenty of fresh cucks pimping their pvp gear 🙂
how long does a brutal set take to farm this weekend? might be worth it
That is an answer with a lot of variables
worst case
All week
If you can log in
It will be quick just make sure you capture towers, capture hellfire towers, and do daily win
So I keep hearing about the 75k honor cap. Is that the kind of cap where you can only earn 75k honor in the pre patch or can you only store 75k honor? If I get to 75k, but I spend 10k, can I earn 10k more?
Thanks!
Hello fellow warriors, quick question - which one is better axe swords or maces ?
For?
PvE
......we have 3 specs
Oh arms
But arms will use axes
I see thanks
how is fury vs arms so far in the pre patch?
They're both great as long as you're geared
Not sure if this is the correct place for the question but has any one tried out the hybrid revenge build? Even more so in PvP
Yes, it's amazing vs melee
especially in rando bgs, most of these dudes just blow all their abilities facing right at you
with brutal pvp gear and honor whats the upgrade priority list like?
if lets say all ur gear is garbage
fresh 70
Yeee, just wait until you get your hands on more juicy block value and arp gear 😉
by weapon shield as well?
ya
oh just went through some tooltips and things scale with block value
makes senes
sense
ty
No, arms slam spec is good
is it faster to level 1-60 questing or dungeons or is it a mix of both likr spamming the scarlwt dungeons but quest the rest of the way
the time spent traveling/lfg isn't worth
ok ty
prot in general is lowkey busted in pvp. Go deep prot and shield slam fools for 10k
So, just boosted my warrior finally yesterday, havent really played warrior in like a decade now. I've got enough honor from AV to buy a weapon, or a weapon shield combo -- but most of my gear is still boost gear, would it be better to stay as arms, and get the weapon (I suppose 2h Mace) with the 19k ive farmed up now to keep farming, or should start getting the gear and replace the pieces wwith no stam first? (I eventually plan to tank on the toon)
what's the best way to gear up a boosted 70 for pvp?
by pvping
hey all, my buddy and I wanna go duo warrior to level in wrath.. is that a thing?
I know that revenge build is what most go, but that is contingent on getting hit, so both of us cant go prot. Just curious what yall would suggest in this instance.
full arms
for lvling wrath whats better ? fury titans boi or arms spinny boi?
Prot prot prot
Hm small stupid q, how good is warrior in wrath?
Like when does it shine
Or competitive
It shines when you know how to play the class properly
shines as in you can do decent numbers pre-icc
hey guys, everyone is recommending axe spec for arms but i don't like how the pvp one looks. how much worse is the 2h sword for human?
well you lose 5% crit and gain a crappy talent :/
if you want look, go for mace spec then xD
if i were to go mace is the arp even anywhere near close to that 5% crit?
to be fair, id go with axe spec
mace is arguably better early on for pvp
Wat
doubt, you need alot of arp to make it work in the long run
what
Arp is weaker at low % while crit is linear and good at overpowering resilience
this
in later tiers you have more arp available to you so there's no need for mace spec
There never is
Axes continue to dominate the whole expansion
Obviously there might be gaps, like if you get your hands on yoggs mace
not really talking about weapon selection. axes are generally better throughout wotlk + axe spec gets the pick but he's talking about brutal and tmogs lol
there's some value in mace spec pre easily achieved arp cap
sword, not really since 6s icd + only white proc
There is a breakdown there, in that the reason why you don't get alot of arp early in is that it's just not on the gear, then you're in ICC and swimming it
yeah exactly
once you're in toc/icc onwards, you prob don't ever wanna give mace a 2nd look
So that 15,% isn't going to bridge the gap
wtb mjolnir runestone or grimtoll from naxx
You go from having around 40% achievable to 100% between the tiers
/tableflip Runestone is a myth, saw one retadin officer took it
no way!
just wait until you see rets running around with scorpion trinket kekekekek
i tried searching but didn't find anything in this channel - i'm interested in soloing the tiger mount boss in ZG - I'm in mostly brutal with one hander and shield and using the revenge/UA spec but unable to stay alive long enough - is full prot recommended for this? is that enough dps to eventually kill?
full prot bangs single target so just try it and ur prob fine
Pallys could solo it in tbc with some decent gear
I would probably wait until you’re a higher level though to solo the zg tiger farm because If there is no video of someone doing a run it is probably easier to just wait until you’re level 80
Prot does horrible with brutal glad stuff
You've got no avoidance in that gear
Agreed! But it's the only gear I have as I leveled during prepatch - I socketed for avoidance and have a couple of kara tanking pieces to complement it but sounds like not enough
Going to need a full avoidance set for that kind of feat most likely
That or a full block value set
Would need to do some math to figure out what’s better/faster/easier to get
I see - might just retry at 80 - I’m guessing an arms build just doesn’t kill fast enough to avoid dying?
prot pal with seal of light = eeeez
This is always the answer
Block is so stupid strong for farming old content
Yeah it’s op
Iirc it's possible in za era items to hit full unhittable still by stacking block to the sky
It's what lead to the cataclysm roll revamp
Where we move to a two roll system for block
With BT bis and dodge gems and full raid buffs you can just reach unhittable by bosses
No block though
Yeah, I just remember almost crying when I saw the za gear because I could wear tank gear and still get rage
Was too much avoidance by t6
Yea unfair af
Bear gets a full rage bar with a white crit at like 53% crit chance
We get… to be uncrushable to 1.5 raids of non crushing bosses end game
And to make sunwell prog easier lol
At least in sunwell with the -25% avoidance debuff I got a lot of rage again but even full hit cap, expertise cap and high cpm threat was still not great
War should be fine now
It is ok in wotlk
I’ve heard less competitive as the tiers go
On warmane they have a myth that prot wars lose 90% armour randomly in combat
It's enough that even in ICC on full burn my HS spamming arp capped fury warrior couldn't pull off of our warriors
Threat should never be an issue in wotlk because how strong misdirect and tricks is
As long as you are wearing gear of the same raid tier
Like obv a combat rogue tiers ahead doing their burst may pull
LoL using tricks on the tanks
Misdirect still
It isn’t bad on pull either esp before rogues get the 2pc for energy on tricks
But yea a dps CD ofc
Also on trash as a rogue tricks is kinda mandatory on tanks
Tricks and fan
Very juicy
Whats the best spec for levelling in classic? I'm level 33 and grinding harder than I should be
Prot, tbh prot is the answer
Block and revenge is a match made in heaven
You can even macro swapping to a twohander when pressing revenge and watch mobs explode
Woah I didn't know that was an option. I thought the trick was to wait for the talent in arms to reduce the cd on revenge
Altho I haven't really struggled with arms yet and I just hit 40
About to get the second pt in imp slam instead of MS
I need to grab a swing timer however
Why reduce the cooldown when whatever you're hitting dies
Should I just follow the deep prot spec then?
Revenge legitimately one shots mobs into your 50s
Just leveled a fresh war to give 100% prot leveling a try
And no that's using 1h , some mobs live but a crit obliterates stuff
He's 57 and I'm still pulling 3+ mobs 3 levels higher
Block is op for not taking damage
I'll have to look on ah for a shield and weapon to give it a try.
Teach me senpai
Press block, press revenge, find more
Revenge does not scale with weapon dmg so 2h swap macro does nothing for it 😊 Its flat dmg + 31% ap
is it safe to say as a casual player that wants to experience both pvp and pve, commit to arms till ICC tier then swap to fury (dual spec arms for pvp still)?
As a casual player you can kind of do whatever you want
Are you asking the meta? Are you only planning on buying one talent respec once over all of wotlk?
meta enough to get into groups haha, happy to respec as and when required. Just seeing a lot of info about warrior basically being bad until ICC, and to play another class until then but I haven't got the time to level another class lol
You will have a raid spot in 10 mans at least
Even fury has a spot in 10mans without a feral
Yes warriors bring a lot to raid that you need
5% crit buff(if no feral) - fury
30% bleed debuff (if no feral) - arms
4%phys debuff (if no combat) - arms
Battle shout (if only one Paladin)
Commanding shout (if only one Paladin)
Sunder (depending on rogue situation)
Demo shout (if no bear)
awesome, sounds like I have at least a chance then
I'll go with arms for now then, thank you for your help
Yeah just pay attention to the add phases in boss fights because that is where you’ll be getting a lot of your padding on the meters
Or be a hero on trash damage, raid leaders notice that
I would say arms is ok not bad, I could see fury being bad just because lack of rotational resources
Hah ok I hadn't been doing that myself I was probably combining it with the overpower macros
Confusing with rather
any recommendations for a swing timer?
WeaponSwingTimer addon is fine
gracias
Thank you for showing me the path to enlightenment. Atm my highest revenge Crit was 1766. Highest execute I saw was 1046 as arms. Revenge hits harder as a normal hit than overpower crit. It's so silly
Guys is deep prot or UA prot better for leveling atm?
Interesting, can I ask why?
I assume you want revenge to be your main button to mow down enemies. This means everything in fury tree is ignored. To get Unrelenting Assault in arms tree, so revenge gets a 1s cd, you need to be lvl 46. And to actually use it every 1s you need to be either blocking, dodging or parrying every 1s (puts pressure on gear) or pulling more mobs to fish for procs. Pulling more is a solution but that also means you will be taking more dmg (adds downtime) when your dmg profile is limited to 2-3 targets.
From my pov, up to 46, both trees will function the same, from revenge's perspective. It will have a 5s cd. So the goal is to figure out what gives more juice while still being able to use revenge asap. It only scales with AP which means it is weapon independent (other than whatever stats mh would offer). Revenge also shared cd with OP.
I think prot tree offers more. Arms has 5% parry which is mirrored by 5% chance to block, but prot also has an additional 5% dodge you can take while going further down the tree. So its another 5% chance to secure a proc. You can grab thunder clap to reduce rage cost and increase dmg which helps with aoe, you can spec revenge so it does more dmg and hits +1 target and you can spec 15% flat crit chance for cleave and thunderclap which also helps with your aoe outside revenge. The 15% flat crit is quite massive while leveling when your stats are in shambles. Shield Mastery talent also reduces SB CD to 40 so Shield Block has a 25% uptime isntead of 16% - a 56% increase. Shield Block makes you 100% block attacks for 10s which means if timed properly secures 2 revenges guaranteed on CD. All of this by the time you hit lvl 31.
On the flipside what does arms offer? Well, more rage via imp charge, deep wounds, crit dmg, some qol for stance dancing and later Sweeping Strikes. Imo deep wounds wont do much as mobs will die before it ticks and the dmg actually starts adding up, and it requires you to crit. Crit dmg is only good if you are critting and when you lvl your stats a low. Sweeping Strikes + Revenge is no doubt good but the question is if filling GCDs between revenges with thunderclap does the job well enough.
On top of this there is the qol of being able to dungeon tank way easier and some other interesting choices down the line in the prot tree. Like adding blanket silence to shield bash, grabbing conc blow as another stop, improved disarm. End of the day mobs die fast in the open world so I am sure it wont matter.
Awesome explanation, thank you
Deep prot let's you Solo grind dungeon trash starting 40ish
Which blows questing xp out of the water
What dungeon? I hit 46 last night
Try zf
You do need some pots etc, and shit runs, but once you get the hang of what to stun and interrupt they fall over
Hmmm okay
I'll prob go at 47 so I can grab last stand. I avoided grabbing it cause I was just open world levelling
Really? which dungeon would you recommend?
Oh just seen above haha
Basically find whatever dungeon is a few levels away from going grey and go slap the trash, avoid shit that hits for raw magic though
Like slimes or elementals
Hey has anyone got any good weakauras for Battleshout? preferabley one that doesnt show when improves BoM is active
i have one, its not perfect but will hide when you have either battleshout or blessing of might active
I like how people leave before they can get any response
My kid does that to me all the time "Hay dad can I take this change jar and get icecream"? *sound of door slamming and feet running
You can’t say no if he’s not there to hear it
When you get 55 head to brd, the first areas with all the dwarves ez grinding
hi, any idea why i can't learn revenge even tho i did def stance q?
The defense quest is level 10 still right?
What level are you
51
And you never trained revenge?
I'd petition since it should just be there
Aight, thanks
Any idea who much xp/hr it roughly comes out to?
Also this is a more pvp orientatd question, but how do I kill frost mages as prot?
Guys whats the situation for arms rotation atm with slam build 2hander, do you just rend slam and if like over 50 rage u HS too and when super overcapping rage you mortal strike?
Forgive my ignorance, but should I be leveling as fury if my gear is decent? 😅 . only lv 62 but have enough fel iron plate for the set bonuses. and a grunt's waraxe from honor hold, can also afford another to DW them. for a 2h I just have a green fel touched axe of strgth (+38 strgth)
slam build doesn't use ms
rend>op>sd proc>slam>hs after slam if high rage
You should be able to queue a heroic strike during slam cast
ya
But bis is prot spec revenge revenge revenge
isnt better to pump one MS over heroic strike if at 70 rage?
I go rage starve when i que HS and get back to back SD procs
is the HS glyph mandatory for this build?
That would’ve been nice to have for tbc lol
Without bias, what’s the priority list for shadowmourne?
Fury>ret>uh
Then blood ^^
Can any1 tell me why my auto attack takes a good 2-3secs before going off when I charge a mob? This is the macro I use #showtooltip Charge
/startattack
/cast Battle Stance
/cast Charge
/cancelaura bladestorm
I tried to put /startattack at the end same result.
Does anyone know what proffesion would be best for a fury warrior in wotlk classic
engineering or blacksmithing ?
blacksmithing and JC are the best i think
Engineering and jc/ench/bs
Try ordering them as:
Cancelaura
Battle stance
Charge
Startattack
Or leave startattack from that macro and add it to hs/bt/ww/ms and so on
Idk, could be charge canceling it or startattack not buffering when out of range
Adding it to all your rotational abilities is a thing
aight will give it a try thanks
prot warrior leveling which dungeons do u go and how long? as solo
hey im kinda new to tbc and was wondering what my hit rating is meant to be because im only finding stuff for level 80 on wowhead
i have the whirlwind axe, im lvl 43, when abouts will i replace it?
i just got the 2H sword from uldaman 'stoneslayer'
Fury/arms will be the same speed
But PROT
revenge spec sitting in dungeons you’ll be 80 in no time
yo question
is it better the honor/arena wep the sword or the axe?
wowhead says axe for prepatch but sword has main stat and axe doesnt
its so weird
can someone explain me please what means woltk will be released on 3.3.5 patch? will warriors be good from the start'
?
i dont think warriors are good because of 3.3.5
warrios in wotlk are good because of gear
thats what i remeber when i played wotlk
so the more warriors get gear with more stats (armorpen)
the best they are
thats why fury is op af with icc gear
as far as i remember
for arms you want axe so you can get 5% crit chance AND crit dmg... as titan's grip fury it doesnt matter but just grab 1x 2h axe so you have the flex of playing both specs if you want 🙂
depends what you consider "good", "competitive" or "viable" and whast type of guild you are in. you have some information beforehand and know the end result, pick accordingly. if your coming from retail it is almost a coin toss whether your favorite class will be "meta" any given patch cycle. that really isnt true for classic.
if you played classic and wanted to be top dmg you picked warrior. if you want to have the best dmg potential in wrath then i would suggest dk is the safest bet. in tbc the circle jerk beforehand was play hunter or warlock for top dmg and the raids were so melee unfriendly raids would implode if you brought more than one. that being said, warrior turned out to be competitive in t5 already and hunter fell off a cliff later. mostly due to warrior gear scaling and the fact 0 downtime class with cleave is pretty good when content is push over.
same will most likely be true for wrath classic. similar to tbc, p1 wrath is piss easy so why worry about minmaxing that shit and look what will be fun and good later.
Is there anyway someone could link me a guide on wowhead that can tell me what the best talents are for leveling as a warrior (or just a full leveling guide for warrior)? I couldn't find an up to date guide. I will be questing solo and running dungeons occasionally btw if that helps with which guide I should follow
wowhead.com/wotlk has a guide dud
covers literally everything, consumes, talents, prepatch for the last stretch of tbc, pre-raid at 80
Just go deep prot, you get revenge at 14 and from there you're just going to murderball mobs with sword and shield
Thanks guys
Hello everybody, i have a doubt. Im finishing to farm the brutal gladiator set and im wondering if i should stick with the set and the b.g greatsword and lvl as arms in northrend or farm another weapon and lvl as fury. What would you recomend?
pls no fury lol
Get some avoidance gear and level as prot or just stick with arms and bladestorm everything
If you haven't bought the sword yet, go axe
if you can manage a full set of good tank gear, you can solo level in dungeons
but if you're just starting now, might not be manageable
will bladestorm get uncapped in wrath right?
any big bois i could ask a few questions about my logs some things i don't quite understand
@molten kestrel no
Thanks for the advice! I appreciate it
Is it much better?
Sord has a ICD now
will be leveling from 1 faster or slower after wrath? cause exp buff will disappear
i think you can figure that one out
We already have the wotlk xp tables so when the xp buff vanishes it'll be much slower
Only 6 days):
And I could only log into benediction or skyfury like 3 days out of the 3 weeks they’ve had prepatch up
They should just keep the xp buff forever there’s nothing to lose
No reason to not continue to conform to private server standards like they have been doing anyway- it’s how people like to play their game
Ugh yeah I need to belt out these last few levels in my warrior
Well the 2nd warrior
I'm sure this has been hashed out in a thread, guide, or video somewhere... I'm looking for info on leveling as prot/revenge spec. I know I can solo utguarde keep for a couple levels, but I've heard mitigation falls off pretty hard as you level.
Can warriors continue to solo/duo dungeon level, or is that just a gimmick for a couple levels? If there's a guide or anything with specifics, please point me in that direction. I've been having a really hard time finding concrete info on this
To 75 shouldn't be a issue
Then the cheese is over? Back to 5 man dungeons or questions etc?
Can it be done in old kingdom? Should I switch over at 73?
you can solo DtK
i have a question about which weapon i should use (out of the ones I have) as a deep prot warrior going into wotlk
Why do people ask half a question in here all the time
Young noobs who have never used a forum

hey dumb question sorry but can i get into northrend at level 68 when wrath comes out?
yep
Y wouldn't you just be 70?
Not related to warrior but does it break TOS to trade retail gold for wotlk gold?
Ask in the forums?
Like literally a question only blizzard can answer
Also that's quite the exchange rate
Live inflation is idiotic
Yeah but like I can buy infinite retail gold lol
Exactly
took 25s google to answer yes, its a trust trade you need to do. while it is allowed it is not supported by blizzard, if you get scammed its your own risk
Thank you for your condescending help friend 😊
yeah it was condescending but sometimes helping yourself is pretty good choice 🙂
Posts were from a year ago I was merely looking for an update after all the recent crackdowns 🙂
I need a way to trade gold from horde whitemane to alliance benediction
But df looks too fun for me to care that much
i wanna level a warrior from scratch as prot with revenge. is the deep prot build from wowheads prot level guide fine or is there a better hybrid build out there?
Deep prot works just fine
cheers
what race for PvP tho? does it matter much? Orc or Tauren
Human
Yeah especially since they nerfed wotf iirc
Warriors shouldn’t need will
Brage breaks more than fear
I believe they work identically, except will is a 2min cd
Identical in terms of cc immunity
Can use to cleanse, with a lingering buff that makes you immune to: sap, sleep, fear
I can transfer my level 60 burning crusade character to the lich king servers right? i can't login without sub
When would I use “slam” over “heroic strike”? It seems like they do the same thing
Heroic strike "uses" your melee swing and the rage generated from it.
You use slam when you have every other ability on cd (rotation APL)
Heroic strike only when about to cap rage and every other ability is on cd (Pure ST, cleave/ww in multitarget)
Hi,
i have a question about professions for dps warrior in LK... in some guides they recommend blacksmith and engineering... in others BS and jewel crafting... and in other Jewel and enginering...
i'm very confused right now...
(sorry if this discussion is not for this topic)
You always take engineering cause it's the best profession of all. Wormholes, nitro boosts, rockets fired from your hands...
Others just give you boring stat increases. Take what you like the most.
Thx!
engineering beats any combo of two others so do whatever you think is fun alongside it 🙂
why aint this working
#showtooltip Bladestorm
/cast Berserker Stance
/cast Bloodrage
/cast Recklessness
/cast Sweeping Strikes
/cast Bladestorm
everything else is casted but not bladestorm?
Is there a written guide centered around Unrelenting assault build?
Also, I presume the build is more for leveling rather than dungeon tanking.
Thx!
It'll tank dungeons just fine, if you can Solo mobs for xp imagine if you have backup
You may need enough rage to cast sweeping strikes for the macro to work
As well as bladestorm
That is assuming everything before bladestorm is off the gcd
I just tried it in a dungeon and it's disgusting. Granted you need bunch of mobs to attack you. But even then I think it easily outdamages deep prot
Yeah revenge with no cd is gross
i got the glyph for sweeping, bladestorm is just 25 so dunno
Recklessness is on the gcd
So you can't macro it to bladestorm
Bloodrage is on the GCD too.
We got all sorts of queue in there don't we
I have to wonder though. Does going deep prot give you better aggro over mobs?
If I look at the talents they don't seem to offer that much in the threat department.
Shockwave is pretty huge
Oh yeah that definitely is.
But I feel like I can't really hold aggro with thunder clap alone in bigger pulls
I'm just wondering how much I want to cater to the dungeon thing.
Because outside of dungeons the revenge spec seems to pull so much ahead
Yeah as long as you can maintain the avoidance to continually prov rev ua is just nuts
That goes down fairly fast though
I'm not sure if it's placebo but I'm struggling to hold aggro with this build
It’s not an aoe build
Yeah but the deep prot talents don't seem to bring that much more to aoe
It’s a low cleave solo build or mele dungeon speedy boi
Shockwave does a lot of damage
And gets d stance threat mod
There’s also some reflect in the tree
That helps on bigger pulls
Hmm, I guess for dungeons it would be better to go deep prot as my job would be to just keeps mob angry at me
Just kind of annoying I'd have to compromise so hard on questing speed
Oil of immolation and sappers can fix it
Have a pally put on ret aura
Get thorns
There’s little stuff to help but it is an accumulation
I would weigh it based on how many dungeons v questing you’re doing
Then again I'm competing with full brutal gear warlock xD
Warlocks have no chill on threat
They don’t have salv
And they don’t have any threat mods in their kit still… at least not really
I think they need to give up hit chance to get -threat so it basically doesn’t exist
You really don't though revenge still chunks mobs for half their hp
u also lose vigilance
But we have full brutal gear warlock here
That is a lot of threat fixing
6-10 he has to wait
Tell him you lose dungeon time if he doesn’t wait
Because it’s true
You being that spec is gaining more dungeon time most likely
Thing is everyone has aoe and pallys have 2 taunt- one of them is a 3 mob taunt both on low CD
And you’re running a lower target threat build so y’all have to play more comprising
Yeah I wonder if the other tank classes are better at holding aoe threat
I don't have many issues asndeep prot
Yeaaah, I didn't have as many problems with deep prot in big pulls
Deep prot nets you charge - tc - shockwave - revenge - tc
Reflect and vigilance too
That shockwave is key because it stops shit from scattering when nutty McAEpants nuts allover the mobs instantly
Gives you an extra moment to catch up
Prot pally has it pretty easy, but has it pretty rough single target with no misdirect
I'm not sure whether to go the revenge build or deep prot for wrath since I don't know if I'll dungeon spam or not.
You get gold like crazy
And the first few respec are cheap
Just test it no harm no foul and it’ll make you a more wise warrior
Apparently it's a good way of getting gold to do the quests at 80
It was the same in tbc
Yeah I fucked up the respecs a few times so now the respec cost is lik e 25g xd
That’s if you’re willing to do quests for no xp
You will need most of the chains for the rep
But at that point(level 80) I personally would rather be done with the rep and the quests, and farm heroics
And then again is the gold difference that big
Plus questing doesn't make my brain become jelly
The gold difference scales
So every quest you do at 70 will waste more gold than at 79 then at 80
The zones reward a ascending amount of gold correlated to the level of the zone- at least that’s how it was in tbc
It's so weird it works like that
I think when you do them at 80 you are getting max value
But honestly as you said, I'd rather be done with reps etc at 80.
I mean
That is personal preference
There is a lot of gold in running heroics quickly with an enchanter in the party
Eh, I doubt I'm dedicated enough
And somehow thinking about having to do multiple zones questlines doesn't sound appealing at 80
Yep
That’s my angle
You wanna be doing arena with the bois or heroic daily lockouts
Not like “sorry guys I’m finishing the rep questline”
I think you need the keys still yeah
But don’t quote me on that
Also rep gets op ez to get. Once you’re honored I think you can buy a tabard which makes the dungeons pour rep down your throat
So basically better to quest through the zones and when you get to max you have the tabards ready to go
Although some dungeons do give rep too
Some of the quests have you do the dungeons
So you just try and get a few runs in with that party if you want an item or something or are bored of quests
Yeah that's doable with any spec
Yep
hey guys for solo questing 70-80 which one is better?
ARMS x UA prot
Do you have good gear?
I wonder how great this trinket will be.
Anyone good with macros? (charge-macro with revenge-build)
Leveling spec? Arms? Thanks
@thin aspen not bad but wouldn't use it for leveling.
it's great for farming strat tho
gph mate? thanks
are pulls that hard or do we do it easy?
can just do the boss runs for about 200g/h and it's really easy
the big zambie pulls can be rough without gear tho
that's where that trink comes in
full pvp gear+ that trinket = easy?
nah you need avoidance
dogde u mean
thanks mate i appreciate it
where is classic disc?
would prot be a better way to go for gearing in pvp as boosted?
Hello, good, I'm new here, some new build is already known so that the warrior is not last in damage at the beginning hahahahahaha
In boosted gear it won't matter what spec you are , it's all 1crit from a mage
how good is our execute on woltk?
very
Gets much better later on
There's a couple that are better than us in early tiers iirc
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1mB7UjU7T4&ab_channel=ShyShuki its not easy for mages being a spell caster these days
Yoyo, anyone has a arms leveling spec for wotlk?
anybody else having that issue
high ms world but low ms home?
I got a very low ping on speedtest, and 1gb up and down
Sword, shield, unrelenting assault, prot points xD
is this way better than arms?
can anyone explain me what that "unrelenting assault" build mean? How it works ? Thanks
Arms/prot hybrid that has huge dps output potential with the use of revenge. You need decent avoidance gear tho to make use of revenge procs. The build is amazing for solo/duo dungeon grinding.
is this a channel to get info about wotlk warrior?
can we solo woltk dungeon for leveling/gold just like dk on blood furnace with this?
You definitely can, as long as you have good avoidance gear.
Imo, yes. By a large margin. Every 40s you are practically immortal to melee and get a guaranteed 10 revenge hits. With its built in cleave an sweeping strikes it hits like a truck and allows you more kills per time spent even if you did nothing between shieldblock cooldowns. It suffers a bit with caster, interrupt and hope for procs or keep a good 2h and use mortal strike
Or pull some melee mobs into the caster and make it your primary target for revenge hits. Need really good avoidance to dungeon solo but open world/group gear requirements are whatever you would normally wear. Revenge scales off of AP
do we use this shit in wotlk still ?
