Yeah, IP never affects your decision making for Prot in any way for either hero tree. You use it when your next global would cause you to overcap on rage. That is it

SCT is rather helpful for a lot of reasons for me both practical and just satisfactorily. Does it really impact my gameplay in regards to making me a better gamer? No, not really I suppose. But it feels a lot nicer to know execute crit for a couple mil as opposed to just looking at a bar at the end of a dungeon that says I did a decent average over the course of the event.

I tracked random buffs from runes/pots/buffs etc. via weakauras set to specific character/specs that I couldn't replicate with current stand alone addons that aren't a full blown UI. I built an addon that was a simple ability to recreate what I was doing with weakauras. This is not cooldown management, just QoL stuff to remind me I am missing something I want up. Adding a screenshot of the current interface. If anyone is interested in playing around and adding some feedback, DM me and I'll send you the zip. Potentially I'd push this out to Curseforge or similar but for now I'm planning to maintain for personal use. If you think there is a really good, well maintained addon that does this better, please point me in that direction and maybe I can use that instead of updating mine every time they make a material change to the game.

No. Arcui has nothing to do with unit frames and all that stuff. Won't change most parts of your interface.
Arc UI is an addon for managing CDM.
It's pretty confusing at the beginning but if you get into it, it's awesome.
But you can simply use the bars and ignore/deactivate the rest.

Yeah I’ll post my imports in a few here. Just sitting down at pc now.

Thats the ArcUI M+ and Single Target main profiles. Then the ArcUI Enrage bar import. Plus the Unhalted Unit Frames import for the player and target unit frames.

When youre in your M+ talent build, go into ArcUI profiles and choose the M+ one. Then if youre in the ST build, go into ArcUI profiles and choose the ST one. Thats the best way I've been able to switch back and forth so far without any constant bugs etc.

Improved Whirlwind tracker is what I'm using for stacks, but that doesnt have an export. Youre on your own for that one. (its ez)

I believe you can login on PTR without an active sub, and you can set up your UI there. You can also check out Luxthos if you want a (free) premade UI, although I think it's generally a better idea to make one yourself so you know exactly what's being tracked where and how

ArcUI had an update which made it a bit more user friendly when switching between builds/talents. So I was able to move some abilities around.
Stuns still stop left because they are really strong in M+ i feel like and I like good visibility on them.

Single target build has enraged regen where tclap wouldve been. and the utility on the bottom.

When midnight launches, if Bladestorm gets a buff, then bladestorm would just be where Avatar is for single target. and i think M+ build will prob stay the same.

I think you can add glow and stuff to anything you want. I just havent spent any time on those final polish type stuff.

I've just made it for fury. But its probably decent for arms too

The important part is just the sizing and positioning. So if you swapped to arms, you can just drag and drop the icons in different boxes

and it just resizes them automatically.

The new update fixed a lot of the centering problems and gap filling issues.
And, it respects when you put two abilities on top of each other. Like Avatar and Bladestorm. and doesnt cause the entire UI cluster to bug out every time you swap specs.

I made a small cd manager UI with trackable buffs usually set for CD"s during burst windows etc, and with just basic abilities for M+ and raid both work for Slayer and Mountain Mane, Tracking all the buffs of thunder blast, bladestorm stacks (slayer) and defensive cds' and in burst window CD's

There is no need to show rampage aswell, if there is no condition but rage, which you already show. If u use arcui, u can set threshold for coloring at specifig ragepoints.
And imo, not everything should be a bar for the sake of it. Having the icon show the cooldown and duration makes the information better digestable, cuz the information is directly linked to the icon

But also, if that interface works for you, thats great

And you dont need to track rend on thane, at all

Hi all, back to the game after a short break and am trying to get my UI/Keybinds to a better place. I'm relatively new to tanking and managed to complete +10 keys in time S1 and S2 of TWW. Whatever I do to my ui, I end up struggling to keep on top of everything going on, then end up with a bit of button mashing which isn't ideal for keeping IP up and my healers sanity. I've checked Method, Iceyveins etc for ideas and general web searches but nothing has quite clicked. Hoping for some inspiration! I use Elvui and am playing with Methods simplified cooldown tracker (using bliz ui). I use keybinds across the top left of the keyboard, with shift modifiers along with some mouse keybinds, so have access to all the binds I need, it just isnt feeling intuitive! If anyone resonates with what i am saying, can you share your UI/tips please!

Ok, Prot really isn't hard at all once you get set up and get your muscle memory back. So, if playing Thane, it's about managing your TC use - everything is built from that...your TC becomes Thunder Blast, is buffed by Avatar and also extends it, and calls down Lightning Strikes, which reset your SS and buff your Rvng and Execute.
So, you really want to monitor:

• Rage (to avoid capping)
• Shield Slam resets
• Thunder Blast procs and charges
• Avatar and Demo Shout CD
• Shield Block and Ignore Pain
  Everything else is Utility used situationally
  Here's how I set mine up:

And always remember the Golden Rule of tanking: don't die. That's your whole job. If you manage to live through the encounter, you did your job.

When you go to the addon menu in game after updating, it'll tell you which ones are no longer supported

I use ArcUI rage bar and enrage bar.

And the rage bar changes colors to yellow when above the threshold that you should absolutely hit rampage lol

I can put a fresh export here for anyone who wants it once servers are up.

Anyone know of any addons that keep track of FPS and can show like a graph showing your FPS changes over time?

It may be as simple as copying your folders to the ptr folders. Addons are kept in the Interface folder of your WoW game directory, and the settings are kept in the WTF folder, by account.
I can't tell you if you'll have to change the game version number for beta, though, you might want to do a little research on that.

This is going to be a dumb question most likely - but, with ARCUI am I able to move stuff like shield block bars independently? For example, with the default CDM it has Shieldblock, Shield wall, and ignore pain all together - can they be moved independently with arcui?

Yup. you can either place them solo on the screen or put them in box groups and make as many of those as you want

you can use arc for whirlwind, but it feels kinda clunky how it updates the stack count

Any idea if there is a way that I could write an addon that tracks Ignore Pain mitigation (to provide myself even an estimated amount of damage I would mitigate with it) or is that completely torn apart with the midnight addon changes?

Improved Whirlwind tracker can actually be pretty bad

I love the rampage fix, but the guesswork it uses isn't great. Not sure why it still does now that whirlwind stacks are an actual trackable buff

but say you are in combat and you whirlwind but dont hit anything, IWT shows you at full stacks when you actually have 0

Because blizzard decided that rampage should deduct its whirlwind stacks at the end of its "channel" and that ww should apply its stacks on its last hit

Both of which are extremely unintuitive and feel very clunky

So you can track ww via cooldown manager, but you'll get those delayed stack applications/reductions and a lot of people really don't like that

Buffs are secret

Cast success events are not secret, nor are a handful of other things that it uses to guess about the ww stacks

But it's only ever making an educated guess

FWIW that's what the old ww tracker weakaura did, it used the cast success events and then force-synced with the actual buff state
