the way it works is that you have SQW worth of miliseconds to "queue" up the next cast

so 0.4 seconds before global ends i can press my next spell

how long you want that number to be is your personal pref

some lower it to react to procs etc

Greetings! I am fairly new to Warrior and I have never fiddled deeply with my UI, but decided to change my approach this time around. Since I have no knowledge on how to UIs are set up, I looked at a few different warrior players. There's one thing I see that is common - two weak auras that are the same skills (as in the screenshot). Why would one want to double this or does this serve some purpose that I'm unaware of?

Also, reading through the chat history here, my main concern is where do other abilities go? there are some abilities on this weakaura that are missing and this concerns me, since you don't just have 8 buttons, you have at least twice the amount. Sorry for the ping OP.

Other abilities appear on the sides while they're on cooldown.

Generally, the "core" abilities (rotational stuff that you're looking at all the time) arein the middle, always. The sides are reserved for utility that you don't always look at, like interrupts/mobility

@glad pilot Here's two screenshots. In the first one, heroic leap and spell reflect are not on cooldown. In the second one, they are, and you can see the remaining cooldowns to the left of the "main" weakauras. (Spell Reflect is actually showing its duration, but once that expires it would show the cooldown.)

You can also see how the avatar weakaura in the second screenshot has transitioned from showing the remaining duration to showing the cooldown, since in the first screenshot it's still active but in the second screenshot it's worn off

Generally speaking, the goal with a core set of "spec" weakauras like that is to take various information and pack it together.

Most specs care about some combination of cooldowns, resources, buff durations, and debuff durations. In the default UI those are all in different places. A good weakaura pack puts them together.

For instance, that weakaura pack I have puts (among other things) Mortal Strike's cooldown, Executioner's Precision stacks, Rend's duration, and my rage all right next to each other. If I need to know anything to decide what ability I should use next, all of the info is in the same spot.

Pretty much any decent weakaura pack will do the same thing

You can also do things like make certain weakauras glow or change color under certain conditions, or add sound alerts if you want to

For instance, I have my Beacon glow for four seconds when it comes off cooldown so it draws my attention when it comes up. I personally don't use any audio alerts for my rotation, though

However, I like the way your healthbars look and how your enemies healthbars look. You mentioned it was ElvUI, correct? Are there any specific settings you toggled or is this out-of-the-box look?

but once you click through the menus its super easy to make something nice

and most importantly u can mess with it super easily

Elvui has a pretty robust settings menu where you can change all kinds of things

Its settings menu also has a search function, which can be handy for tracking down a setting when you're not sure which category it's in

IMO you start under the general tab and then change the font as the default is really bad

then work your way through to the unit frames n change those as you want

oh and if you use plater u can keep on using that - you can turn off parts of elvui you dont want

I'll also add that there's a lot of sweet tech you can do with weakauras for specific mechanics in raids or dungeons

For instance, there's a weakaura for Morchie in Dawn of the Infinite that shows the full 3d model of the Morchie you're mousing over, which is helpful since it means you don't have to squint at her to see if she has a hat or not

There was something similar for the spy finding part in Court of Stars last season, showing the model from the front and back, so you could more easily see if, say, they had potions on their belt

I'll start off with Luxthos WeakAuras and spice it up with ElvUIs health bars, since I find them very informative. I'll also include a Whirlwhind tracker somewhere near that WeakAura and after I obtain the cool T30 set or whatever its name is, I'll add the Bloodthirst crit chance to the mix.

So I always encourage people to evaluate what's actually good for them, so that they avoid hand pain

Going crazy rn because I deleted a few addons that I thought weren't of use to me, but I only realized later on that I lost a really convenient functionality I had where if I open my character screen there'd be a small list of my socketed gems at the bottom that allowed me to quickly just hover over and select what gems to put in my sockets (or replace current gems) without having to manually shift click on each piece and then go through a confirmation box to ensure that I wish to replace the currently socketed gem.

no worries, i was out for a bit, sorry for the late reply.

Two things:

1. I personally wouldn't recommend tracking Str% on Hurricane because you'll always be at max% by the time you stop spinning, so nothing within the spin duration matters as you ramp the %
2. If you really want to track it for some reason, set your Trigger to be the Hurricane Buff you get on yourself, and set the Display text to be %tooltip1%% (ie: show the first "number" that appears in the tooltip for the aura of the same name"

%tooltip1% = 30 (strength)
%tooltip2% = 30 (move speed)

for some background context, Hurricane will always go from 0% to 30% over the duration of bladestorm (even if you cancel bladestorm, which you can't, but if you could the buff would keep stacking because it's triggered on Bladestorm's press and doesn't actually care how long you spin for). The inability to cancel bladestorm just masks this effect 👍

so you can safely not track it, and just know "i'll be at 30% when i stop spinning"

Set it up to load only in combat. When you enter combat it will play once, and then should only play again when it falls off. I do the same thing for audio notifications when whirlwind falls off.

Course that means it will play any time you enter combat, so if you fly through a pack of enemies while dragonracing, you're gonna get the audio alert

Although you could also set a trigger to not load if you're mounted. That would get rid of that problem.

I have a problem I think is caused by addons but I cannot figure out which ones. Whenever I zone into a dungeon or even the portal room for m+ my fps drops to between 60 and 30, more like 30 in dungeons, but as soon as I exit and restart the game and zone into the same zone it's back to 75 and normal.
