so far this expansion added 4 new tweaks to my main mog

s1 added a neat belt, which im still not super happy about, but there isnt a single belt in this entire game right now that im 100% happy about for this fit

s2 added the pants which work pretty great but still arent perfect

s3 added these swords which are honestly kind of a banger and I dont see them being swapped out any time soon

legion remix added the gloves which work pretty great and also may stay for a long time

one last fun fact, during WoD the helm and shoulder animations were always in sync, they retracted together and expanded together. somewhere mid legion it broke and they get desynced and it was never fixed since. i wrote a ticket about it once but i knew they would never fix it since so few people have it

i know many elite sets caused me to participate in pvp seasons i otherwise wouldnt have participated in. thats an objective fact. and in return ive gotten good memories from it, as well as a fun thing to show off which tethers me more to this game and causes me to think twice before trying a different mmo. it is a very beneficial thing to an mmo.

The Elite sets are purely cosmetic: they have absolutely, positively, completely, unequivically, ZERO (0) impact to the actual game.

I have played since Vanilla, but I, as someone who was a teenager when Wrath was out, only was seriously playing since End-of-Wrath/beginning of Cata. THANKFULLY, Blizzard has allowed me to still get teh vanilla Grand-Marshall/Warlord gear for completing specific parameters in PVP. In other words, while I was nowhere near ready to compete and play at that level when the set/transmog was active, Blizzard allowed me the means to still get the set if I accomplished certain goals in the same game-mode/activities.

Imagine, 20, almost 21 years later, and there's absolutely no way to get the Warlord (I'm probably remembering the Horde name for it wrong, forgive me I don't play races with innate scholiosis)/Grand Marshall appearances. That'd suck. And there would be no way for me to get that appearacne from 20 motherheckingThralllovingGarroshflicking Years ago

Same as PvE. PVP has enjoyed exclusivity in their mogs, despite the fact that the game has NOT existed and persvered for the pvp community. Love and/or hate pvp for any and all reasons, but this game has never relied on the PVP community, and that's why it remains the only P2play game in MMOs. Every game that has forced/relied-on/leaned-on/focused-on PVP has died excrutiating deaths.

PvE gear is always obtainable, always. The gimmick is, if you want the mythic coloring, you either play mythic/competitive that season, wait till next xpac when it's easier, or wait 2 years/xpacs to where it is solo-able.

It's literally only the minority of the community that gets exclusive mogs.

And I'm not saying it shouldn't be earned, for the record. You shouldn't be able to just get BFA Elite gear with honor points. Fair Question

You can only work towards VS after getting the seasonal mount and then working in that pvp bracket (2s/3s/SS/RBG) above 1200; you bascally have to grind the seasonal mount, and then grind it again for the saddle which is excrutiatingly long and arduous.

You get AOTC, you get the current seaosn's AOTC mount; now every boss you kill in the raid grants you X-Percent towards a "Heroic Saddle", with the final boss granting a higher percent than other bosses. That "Heroic Saddle" then allows you to choose a previous AOTC mount to purchase. Same logic for Mythic+; dungeon completion above +10, or whatever key level, grants you progress towards a "Valorous Saddle" which eventually allows you to get a previous KSM/KSL mount

MoP challenge sets should still be obtainable IMO; use similar coding to the Mage Tower where your gear is ilvl blocked after a certain ilvl (so it doesn't matter if I have ilvl 10,000,000 it gets hard-stopped at 100 or w/e) to maintain the challenge.

When they re-added the Mage Tower it was still pretty challenging and at the time I was in peak gear for that season

you did earn it. you earn a set that shows you managed to get 1800 rating in blitz, but the people who had it before had a set that showed they can get 2k~ rating in rated BGs (i think its 2k i dont remember) and that person is now left with a set that makes people think he just got 1800 in blitz, making his memories of doing lots of pvp sessions with a pvp guild against other pvp guilds and getting something to show for it - now diminished slightly, and some of them may not care, but im sure some do

I don't care they have Mythic Uldir appearance. I don't care that they have any mythic coloration/appearance, even and especially for the tiers I was actively doing heroic and mythic raiding.

If anything, I'm glad that I can go back and complete the set I didn't get to finish while it was active, adn I'm glad that people who didn't have the chance or community to mythic raid can eventually go back and get that color for their mogs. I got it for my efforts when the content was current; now they have to take time out of their usual game time, away from current M+ or raiding, to run those raids and hope for the drop; it's extra, it's out of the main path; but if they want to grind it, it's there for them to do so.

If raids worked like PvE, we'd never be abel to go back to legacy raids and get mogs, and that would suck abysmally

there's a few glory of the raider achieves but those are tedious because some of em can be screwed up pretty easily since 1 slap can kill mostly anything below DF and SLs
