id respect the folks on your side of the fence in regards to this topic if instead of trying to talk about fomo and game design you'd just admit youre kinda jelly and dont care about other people's accomplishments and simply want the cool stuff anyway
fomo is bad when its a monetary thing like shop exclusives. but when it comes to time limiting some rewards for actual game participation, its crucially important for the life on an mmo. you must create drive to incentivized engagement and to reward ppl for trying new things and helping people set goals for themselves
you can complain about pvp participation numbers all you want, but elite sets as a fact have multiple times caused me to engage in pvp and if i could just wait out the season in a different game then log in once the season ends to get the set for marks of honor, then firstly the set would lose some of its coolness and two it would just further disincentive participation
and yes, i do think that CE players (which i am not) deserve an exclusive reward for their achievement beyond a lame famed slayer title

Boosting and purchased titles have been a thing for a long time. It is sad, and I'm guilty of boosting people in M+ for gold. It's just some people still think there is anything that could be considered scared or important. M+ title, CE, etc, are all meaningless. World First is about the only thing that I would call exclusive.
