Its a shame that blue quality set for the expansion will be the Arathi set, the raid will be a bug set.
Which means the dwarf stuff is likely going to be the much lower effort green set.

The changes are going to allow you to unlock the appearances, not use them. So basically my warrior runs Nighthold, I get a mage/cloth armor piece, it unlocks the appearances for characters who can wear cloth armor

Things are a bit screwy this week but I think once the new raid comes out it’ll function similar to last tier
I catalysed and upgraded a time rift helm all the way to 450 on one of my characters and it retained the S2 LFR look throughout each step, I don’t think it’ll work like that next week (but who knows I guess)

[midweek] item upgraded to 437 -> Normal tier
[weekend] Dreamsurge gear (424) -> **LFR *** changed
Time rift (428) -> LFR
[weekend] Dawn of the Infinite mythic post-nerf 437 drop -> Heroic tier
So it's very inconsistent. I'd like to understand how items are modelled internally and what their logic is for determining which appearance to grant.
Pre 10.2 it was strictly based on item level but now they're encoding items with when and how they were obtained and that impacts the appearance that's spit out.
