Yes you pretty much want to demolish* on cd and it will usually be at 10 stacks

Sometimes it will align where you’re cs is ending in 3 seconds and you have less than 10 so you’d send it anyway

(Assuming it’s logical to do so)

(It could be better to hold the 10 stack for next pack or a damage burn etc)

But then has then left me wondering if i should wait for my overpowers to come back - and what i should press in the mean time if i do. Better planning required on my part i guess.

collat is not that important to track as it kind of plays itself
Merciless Bonegrinder also doesn't really change how you play but you might enjoy seeing that bonus dmg window on your ui
Rend tracking is important
Overpower buff is important to track. It helps you understand when to ms vs when to cleave as colossus build. if you dont track it then you might just end up blindly sending ms after overpower instead of cleave during an aoe situation
sweeping strikes is important to track. It fundamentally changes how you play in some situations.

Fury's rotation right now is a very good example of that kind of overengineering, bulking up a simple rotation with a series of insignificant gains. At a certain point you gotta ask yourself whether the three extra actions are actually worth the extra 0.2% improvement, or if you lose more in mental bandwidth than you gain in actual damage

from memory, I personally track sudden death (for slayer), executioners precision (mostly for slayer but sometimes relevant in colossus), rend, overpower buff that improves mortal strike and cleave, opportunist (slayer only), juggernaut (for slayer) and sweeping strikes. I also put a small colossus might stack number directly into my demolish button so the button itself has a number showing the stacks.

It's not actually that many buffs to track. I just have them sitting on top of my rage bar, only tracking them when i have the buff, they disappear when i dont have the buff (or rend isnt applied).

Well first off, I don't do everything solo; we have several helpful warrior brains collaborating to put stuff together. In fact, I was less involved this PTR cycle due to some health issues

But to actually answer the question, it comes from a combination of testing and experience. We spend a lot of time on the PTR and playing with sims to figure out what works and what doesnt, but after enough time you also tend to get a feel for things, so you can get a pretty good idea of how changes will affect a spec or rotation even before you've plugged the new numbers into a simulation
