The differences between different enchants and gems isn't big enough to warrant buying a sub unless you sim a lot or really care about the minute gains
Just pick crit/haste enchants and gems and you'll be fine really
You might get 800 dps more in a sim through another combination, but in practice you won't notice this

you don't need it in the vast majority of cases, but if you ever think you do want the stun, it's worth taking
you really don't give up much for it at all
and yeah, if it's a well coordinated group with anything but the most scuffed comp, you probably don't need it

I don't think anything is inherently bad, but I think there's some fluff you could probably get rid of, like knowing the duration of your pot or dancing blades taking up space I don't think is necessary knowledge, could move frenzy up to the top bar if you'd want so it doesn't sit alone at the bottom

as for the rage-cap part, in the current tier arms swims in rage and it's normal to be "Rage capped" before execute phase, since a lot of our kit doesn't spend it currently. This is normal, and you want to focus on your priority and ignore the rage you have since it's not relevant for dps until execute phase (where do you do care about rage spend)

And our healer was apparently using tiptac, an old tooltip addon that hasn’t been updated since 2020, which was randomly drawing gigantic tooltips across the screen mid combat

Yes, but the issue was that something was wrong with the dimensions, most tooltips worked fine, but occasionally it would just draw out a super large one for a split second
We finally paused raid just to open their stream and had half the raid watching trying to figure out what it was lol
My favorite thing though is that a few years ago windows added a new(ish?) shortcut that swaps desktop profiles on the fly, it’s like win+ctrl+arrow or something

it's what the sims do as well. On single target, the initial hit from TR doesn't do a lot of damage, you mostly care about the DoTs it applies, so you can just send it right away and forget about it
