1st step: Know your rotation in theory
2nd step: Go into your logs, find the casts tab, find timeline. Then check if you are following the correct rotation. Note what you are doing wrong (order, dead gcds, so on), then do an effort to try fixing it

The difference seems to be small and very heavily dependant on the rest of your gear

I tend to sim against a constant that matches my guild clears (1 boss light movement) , so it's a bit easier to read. The values will not be super accurate across all events, but I do a bit of everything. If you're mostlyfocused on M+ content, you can compare agasint the dungeon slice and see what it says there.

I am at 287 item level and while I manage to push dps at 140k average in Mythic+ I barely get to 75-80K in the Mythic raid environment on the usual single target + rend .
