it just depends on how much you want to gamble
its about 35s till first add spawn, so it's close and you can presend, but you're not going to get a whole lot of extra damage out half a CD window on ST
suppose it also depends on how much damage you do to adds - about half my damage was against adds so I erred on the side of ensuring that damage was maximized
once you have 4p you can OF on the pull and have it back up in time

but the big difference is that Slayer is very RNG, whereas Thane is extremely reliable

the issue with Slayer is that they keep nerfing Reap every chance they get - it currently averages every 5th Bloodthirst, which means you have very little control over whether it happens during CDs on a fresh pull or when one target is left at 10% health
Sudden Death reaps help, but suffer a similar issue - SD procs are also random, and you don't really want to hold them for more targets since you want to use them for BS CDR (another thing that ends up being very random, sometimes aligning with Reck, sometimes not)

Its a very consistent rotation, you always know what you're doing, you always know when your buffs are going to be up
Sure, Thunder Blast procs may be a little random, but while Blast is a little stronger than Clap overall, you don't need them to deal effective damage
- if Slayer gets bad RNG on Reap/SD procs, you're quite simply not going to do any damage, especially in big pulls
- if Thane gets bad RNG on Blast procs, it's still going to put out 90%+ of its max
and Thane also resets that every time Reck/Ava come off cooldown, which are blessedly synced together at all times. The worst thing you can say about it is the priority can get a little wonky (ingoring SD/RA) but it's incredibly smooth to play and probably the best Thane has ever been

- nerfing Reap proc rate is stupid, performance in WoW is all about consistency, not super rare powerful procs that never happen when you want them

- Ravager adds nothing to the gameplay, it's just an extraneous button that buffs the ability that's already doing the vast majority of our damage
- Crushing Combo adds a lot of damage, but the gameplay is stupid - spamming the insanely overpowered button 4x in a row just means completely ignoring everything else - SD procs, OP procs, even Bladestorm and Demolish take a back seat
