They update but usually in aoe ravager damage doesnt matter that much, its all about unhinged so you mostly precast it before hitting reck/ava. With roar though I do usually prefer to cast it during ava/enrage for the extra damage on use, it aint that bad and you're usually waiting for cd anyway.

This is why it's orders of magnitude more complex - damaged targets are only tied to damage events, not cast events, and there are a ton of edge cases regarding when adds spawn/die and shit like that
You can't just say "it's a single target fight so don't calculate roar efficiency"
