question: so fury aoe in thane is partially capped at 8 and mostly hardcapped at 5 right, with the 4 targets cleaved directly scale off how hard you hit the main target, as its a % of your single target damage. now thats a really "similar" damage profile to arcane mage, which obviously is way burstier and funnels for increased single target damage.

without funnel, is there any reasonable number our ST damage could be where our damage profile would be "as" desirable as arcane is for keys? If your main cleave is a % of your ST damage, the only real way to get that to work out in a balanced way is to have your ST damage go way up in cleave situations or am i completly wrong

(id rather them finally cave in and give up with the damage hardcap than them trying to get funnel damage into furies design, but just like, as a thought experiment)

As long as our ST is stronger than others in their M+ specs, and as long our prio damage is high enough compared to the accidentally prio damage done by pure AoE classes - we bring value.

If we through our higher ST and prio damage allow for bosses/lieutants to die faster than without us. Lets say we werent there in this scenario, the AoE boys would be stuck there for longer on the prio targets and they would simply be overkilling the pad adds. Making their individual DPS less effective. Us not being there in this example would make the group actually slower, not faster. This is also a problem funnel classes are there to solve.

The main problem this season was that we were so undertuned (arguably, other overtuned ), that the value brought through prio damage did not have a big enough lead compared to the AoE weakness.

Fury wont be 'as desirable as arcane', as we are two different niches and part of two different comp spheres. One could argue we are as desirable in a phys comp. Both bring a dam amp buff, both bring focus target dam.

The problem Fury had in S2 wasnt our targetcap, it was a problem. The problem was our lower tuned damage profile. Or that others were tuned too strongly on prio dam (remember mid season, as ST got buffed for others? I do). Having the DPSprofile value difference we add being too low to be a felt impact.

TLDR:
Dont worry about it, it is a tuning issue. Dam profile is fine in itself.

I think its hard to say right now. Trinkets will likely be changed right up till release. And possibly in the week or two following if some prove too strong

Though I didnt see too many amazing trinkets for fury this time. A lot of 2 min trinkets not many 90 second ones. I havn't seen the sims though

From what I was guessing based of no sims at all is that we take the stacking trinket from raid and just use it with avatar. I know it stacks higher but at least it can be used every 90.
And a passive trinket dunno which

I didnt notice any other use trinkets that lined up. But I didnt look super hard

but thats only if you hit the proc every 10s

I can see maybe saving it for the damage amp windows on bosses. I think a few of the bosses have a %increase phase. But yeah I dont love the design in general

u have a bunch of bosses that favor high damage cd windows and a bunch of trinkets that do the same

but fury doesnt have a cd window and none of the trinkets even favor fury's cd's

Yeah it might not line up well for us this tier.
I think some of the fights have decent burst cleave though which we are generally pretty good at. I didnt notice if it was spread cleave or not though
