the really ironic thing is that guilds like Overrated hacking out C'thun walls actually opened a lot of eyes at Blizzard - they were very up front about why they did it and (for the most part) weren't salty about the bans, acknowledging that they deserved it

I think it depends on what level of content you're pushing and how fast you expect to push.

Going straight for gilded is more efficient since there's a cap on crests and you don't get a refund on the runed you spent.

But you're not losing all that much, and if you're not hitting the cap or racing for high-end mythic raid content it's not a big deal anyways

Also keep in mind that if you finish the Undermine storyline, you get a free enchanted runed crest for crafting

So you could just use that for your weapon until you get a gilded

Real talk though is enrage uptime really that much of a problem? Like you could split the difference and end up with like a CS type thing where it feels more impactful but lower uptime I guess, but not sure if they want that for the flavor of fury

What about your thunder clap aoe 4 attack proc, I’m finding myself after a couple raging blows when I’m ready to rampage I have no aoe up , a thunder clap before a rampage I’m assuming, hard to explain but I hope you know what I’m trying to say

Fury is probably worse for overall damage in most cases, but more overall damage doesn't necessarily mean a faster dungeon. Fury's strength is prio and boss damage, which may be more important than aoe damage depending on the dungeon and your group

OF should do damage on the press, as a niche.
Throwing in CDR to just cast it more often doesn't give the press more impact, just overall DPS. We already got a CDR value button via AM Bladestorm/Rav in the tree.
Would be nice to not have everything work exactly the same. Have some more things line up with the 45 sec and 1.5m windows.

Thane does a lot more AoE and is close on ST. If your group needs the ST in particular, then Slayer ain't a bad choice, just got to weigh the tradeoffs in your scenario
