hello everybody. quick question: when do i use def stance in m+? I started playing recently and in a guide i have seen they stated you do not use def stance at all as fury in m+ low keys. now i am getting better and higher and i am wondering when i need to incorporate it, Using it already on COT 3rd boss aoe for example in +13. Am I wasting DPS or should i use it more often? How can i know when to use and when my spell reflect / 2min cd is enough without dieing or depleting others key?

You use def stance if you need a defensive for a big hit

But rather you use it liberally than not, especially if you don't have SR/Enraged ready and against bigger hits, like the frontal from first boss Necrotic

The loss of damage from using def stance for 3 seconds is negligible compared to living

There's also a site called not even close that you can test to see if you live or die to an attack, depending on what personals you have active

With weak auras and addons honestly. Plater with a profile from Quazii will color code what enemies are about to do, little wigs will announce things like “AOE” and there is a weak aura that will tell you you’re being targeted by something you can reflect.

Can you reflect? Reflect it. Can you move out of the way? Move. Is it unavoidable? Either victory rush right after, defensive stance right before, or both. Is everything about to go to shit? Rally Cry.

I mean once you're fully geared you shouldn't really run into a situation where dstance will save you in low keys since the damage shouldnt be that uigh but until you get that point you will probably have a make or break scenario during the gearing phase at the start and for push keys after

It's better to recognize the damage pattern w bosses and mobs and just keep it in mind so pushing will be easier in terms of defensive usage

Since the scaling is fucked this season the damage instances hit significantly harder once you had the +12 affix. it wont be a thing next season since there is one less multiplier and that +12 affix is getting replaced by -15 per death affix instead so the jump isn't that nearly as bad but I couldn't give you a key level where dstance will matter next patch.
