To my knowledge, no there's no real difference between them
But this is also not something I've looked into, since as mentioned it's a natural cadence as Thane where you end up spending said 3-4 abilities anyway between your cleave enabler, and whatever the 4th ability would be, you'd just use again in the next cleave window

i think it works like charge or leap where you still need a path. so you can do it before the pull or while you have ground under you, but if you are off map it wont work
