AM is much more competitive next week, and on paper practically equal with RA in many areas, but in practice RA is generally still better

in raid:

• Slayer is better everywhere except Silken Court - I'm not sure Thane is actually better either, but it is at least fairly competitive due to Thunder Clap dealing better 2-target damage
• RA is better everywhere in raid, except Mythic Broodkeeper, and only if your group really needs more reliable add damage instead of boss dam
  in M+:
• RA is the same as its always been
• AM desyncs a lot, which makes it much harder to time and play effectively. It's competitive on paper, but whether or not timing happens to work out well might be something of a crapshoot
• similarly, Thane is more sustained damage but the rotation is a bit more complicated and the burst isn't nearly as quick as Slayer, which makes getting all your damage out a little less reliable; overall Thane is slightly better, but it's not as pronounced as it might seem

the issue with Transmitter is not that it's hard to do, it's just that it's something else you have to do

• you need a separate keybind
• you need to use that keybind before cooldowns
  Once you get it down, yeah it's "easy", but it is another level of something you need to think about and conciously do, whereas you can just use a similar ilevel Mark or Skarshard for 99% of the same performance

there's not a whole lot of reason to play it in raid, but frankly unless you're a parse whore, there's not much reason not to play it either - at least on farm

Slayer is better for burst AoE fights (Rasha, Brood, Queen) because Bladestorm just deals damage a whole lot quicker than Ravager does, though that certainly doesn't mean you couldn't be successful as Thane, you'd likely just have someone else getting more damage in on those adds instead

For the ST fights, RA Slayer is still a little ahead, but again... there's no reason you can't just play Thane if you want to (you're already playing Fury, so it's not like you can make the "competitive" argument there lolol)
