Hello. I'm trying to decide my vault item but there's so many hypotheticals and weird variables.

For example, does anyone know why spending 30 crests to upgrade this weapon to 629 is better than spending 90 crests to upgrade my crafted weapon to 636?

I'm trying to decide between getting 4 piece with hero track pants or getting a hero track weapon, while also trying to decide what to do with my gilded crests (Great Vault choices):
