As for prepatch, WoWhead and Skyhold in general have put in the very minimum of effort. As there very little to gain from minmaxing solved and completed content.
As Maxroll is the new hot thing; it is logical to presume they put in that extra effort to stand out. So I would give that site the benefit of the doubt.

I haven't tested in raid yet or run any sims but was just hitting dummies for a while last night and AM was significantly ahead of RA with the s4 4pc
It's prepatch so not like it matters much anyways, but (assuming the echo raiders will continue to update the maxroll guides) it's always good to have more options, and you can always just run sims and test for yourself

I don't know if that's your issue, but if it is on a lower setting, its possible that so many sounds are being played at once some are getting munched
that could potentially happen at a high setting too, but I'm not sure I've ever noticed it personally

likewise, you can macro Reck + Avatar together, but Fury commonly plays with Odyn's Fury & Titan's Torment yet does not always have Titanic Rage, which means you still want to desync them sometimes (again on the pull, you want to Reck to get Enrage up faster before using Avatar)
So I'd recommend getting used to using them separately first, then looking for shortcuts once you have a good grasp of where each button fits into the rotation

This is my single target build:

-Critical Strike: 33.38%
-Haste: 36.92%
-Versatility: 19.27% / 9.63%
-Mastery: 58.35%
Usually what i do as an opener i Charge in, and uas all my CD's ..all 5 of them.. and then i just Rampage whenever available, Raging Blow and Bloodthirst.
But i have a feeling that's not how it should be played...
The "feeling" comes from other people doing more damage then me at almost the same ilvl.
What is the cooldown "order" that you use?
What am i doing wrong?

cd wise i dont think youre too far off on the "mostly spam them all at the same time" tho single target is a little more nuanced
starting simple with aoe just yea charge avatar/reck > roar > rampage for prio damage ideally then > bladestorm > odyns after that and continue as normal
st would be like kinda the same tho i think youd want to av/reck ramp then ravager > spear > few buttons > odyns > more
normal rotation wise yeah after you rampage should def try to hit both bb and cb almost every time
both aoe and st
things u do want to pay attention to/avoid is not spamming avatar and odyns fury at the exact same time
as dot will clip and you lose a decent chunk of damage
so its like avatar > hit some other buttons for 3-4 seconds > odyns
completely ignore slaughtering strikes stacks too
and just pmuch hit rampage as soon as its available

so tldr kinda takeaway, separate avatar and odyns from eachother by a few seconds in all content when you have both up, hit rampage asap without even thinking about ss stacks for the most part, and try to hit a bb and cb after every rampage
if you want to get a little more scientific youre kinda supposed to not hit bb during ravager because it auto casts bb for you
so for the duration of ravager youre basically just spamming crushing/raging blow > rampage until it wears off

but now its fine to hit normally so i think you just get the whatever 1 stack afte rrampage you get
and it helps that bloodcraze now procs off raging blow too
so free 15% crit chance on top of 4set crit chance buff
generally get "pretty close" to max critrate on bb
