So, there's your initial problem. Comparing yourself to the top rankings.

In order to hit top rankings the pulls need to A) be perfectly lined up B) need to be using the right equipment/trinkets for the job and C) bear in mind that quite a few of the top 10 DPS percentages will have a lot of min/maxing of external cooldowns thrown into play. PI, Aug, Windfury etc etc.
