Exception is when you take pretty much pure magic damage and need to mitigate that. Since shield block doesnt mitigate magic damage Ignore Pain becomes your main mitigation then

revenge is your offensive rage dump, IP is your defensive rage dump

IP is off gcd however which makes it more flexible to dump with in e.g. your opener where you generate a lot of rage very quickly

IP by itself is pretty meh but it can help out in smoothing out your dmg intake

be careful that you cant stack several IPs tho, it has a cap

a WA can be helpful for that

revenge on the other hand is your major AoE damage ability and should be used very often

(oh and any rage generated that ends up being wasted because youre already at 100, is better spent on IP even if it's weak)

In reality for majority of gameplay all thr tanks are relatively close like you guys said. But at the highest levels within that 0.1% it feels like a big difference even though it technically is small but being able to survive 1 key level higher is actually a big difference to the 0.1%

so yes all tanks are relatively close for majority of content, we are by far the weakest tank at the 0.1% level because unlike alot of other groups, the limit of a key level may not always be speed/damage but ability to survive.

Yes if andybrew picked up prot war to push keys he probably would be 3k in record speed but he probably wouldn't be 3.15k io

I will personally use it in some dungeons as it add survivability through fleshcraft which is what prot war really needs against high magic dam but if there's any downtime between pulls like RP angels in spires or even back tracking like in TOP, banner won't be 100% uptime. So probably still play other covs in m+. In raid though it's pretty solid but you offtank and melee healers soak up the mastery buff quite often

I get really annoyed how there are 4 different versions of a dungeon now, normal, heroic, mythic, and then mythic+ but on top of that as well, you also have different levels of keys, and those have to be pulled a certain way too because enemies are too strong or not strong enough.
then you have to also contend with the +10 affix and later +20 affix of "does everyone have grear/brain/microphone", and so you got like 10 friggin routes you have to know for 1 dungeon,
the geometry changes and enemy count placements, the bosses don't do certain abilities on normal, thats fine but they literal fall over to weird smelling farts or pose a challenge

hi! new to prot, made the wall and reprisal. The reprisal usage looks a bit complicated for me, atleast I couldn't get it to a level of passive rotation, more like "oh, i forgot i could charge/intervene, lets do this now"; which sometimes lead to turning back to mobs and dying. So I've got some questions here and there:

1. what is the cap on shield block buff time, should I worry about it?
2. do you use reprisal to a level of charge/intervene always being on cd, and if so, how do you manage it? I found the easiest way to weave charges into pack is to charge into casters, but pack usually gets too spread this way, and Im getting stabbed into the back sometimes
3. when playing the wall I bring my ,khm, wall to a 1 min cd roughly, so it becomes very convenient to close sb downtime with it, am I correct? So looking at the defensives, considering 2 sb charges and sw ready on pull, can I safely assume sb into sb into sw into sb is the way to go, and what to do afterwards?
4. conduit for rage gen from the last stand, why is it recommended here and there?
5. if playing booming voice, am, ravager and bastion/mikanikos, do I drop all those cds at the same time for damage buffs under the Avatar, and if so what us the order, starting with ravager, correct? And this grants me 90 +rage (voice, am, charge) , how do I consume all of that? I feel it is too many globals, like it was in early bfa
6. A lot of guides place heavy rupercussions under the other two options in that row, but top r.io warriors use it; does the magic there hide in 100%ish uptime on sb if play with reprisal, and why it is not recommended for a lower level?
7. IP feels very meaningless to press, is there any way make it feel better, or I can use it as a rage dump when Im close to 100, and sb is on cd? (for 15 ish keys level)
8. what to do in dungeons when group decides to ignore kicks, do I memorize caster packs, and keep all my defensive cds for those?

   3)Roughly yes. You use your other CD's like The Wall to cover for SB downtime. After you have used everything you can kite
   4)Because our other Endurance conduits are bad and Unnerving is one of the best ones. It provides a ton of rage gain which feeds into AM,damage,defensives.
   5)Yes, use them on CD. Drop Ravager from afar before charging in. Use IP (it's not on the GCD ) to dump rage and avoid wasting any.
   6)HR is good thanks to Reprisal - if played correctly you can achieve near 100% up-time on SB. This is not needed in lower level keys. Playing the class correctly will provide you with enough survivability so you can just pick up AM and provide benefits to your team via more damage. You CAN play HR in lower keys if you want to.
2. It is kinda meaningless. You use it to dump rage or when having a heavy DoT on you (or generally facing majority of magic/unblockable damage..which is almost never)
   8)Yes, you try to save CD's for those packs. Also be sure to utilise SR/Fear/Stun to interrupt the casts. When things go south just kite.
