This probably has been discussed already a million times but I need some advice for mage tower .
For back ground I am not horrible prot war ( tho certainly far from being great) ilvl 244 in shadowlands gear but I also did spend some g’s on AH to get some outdated gear that has been recommended by wowhead .
Thing is I really struggle on damage in the encounter like I can just barely get the first guy only to like 20-30 percent before I die . I know that easy advice is git good casual but honestly I just want some more pointers . I watched some guides on YouTube but beyond understanding the mechanics they didn’t help much .

This probably has been discussed already a million times but I need some advice ...
I did the prot challenge in 20 pulls or so. The first part is just getting into the flow of rotating damage on the boss then the adds. I typically took 6 stacks then cleared eyes/small adds. First phase wasn't that hard since I'm used to playing dps and the defensive check isn't too bad. P2 on the other hand. Haven't played prot since Cataclysm so I had quite a few attempts before I didn't get instagibbed from stressing about cooldown usage.

You shouldn't look at it like that. I stressed the healing challenge, took me 120 pulls as resto shaman. I used some of my old siege gear, so the dps check was a walkover. I could've played more aggressively

I’m usually just pressing revenge. Like the boss doesn’t do much physical dmg right so I’m fine with mainly using spell reflect + ignore pain to prevent rage overpooling so I mainly spend my rage on revenge

If you're doing it for the warrior transmog you should just do the fury challenge. It's probably one of, if not the easiest of all challenges. For tank challenge tho I think prot is one of the easiest. VDH is easier I think (someone confirm?)

2x the DPS amount needed to do the same content as Nighthold gear on May 17th, 2017. Tomb of Sargeras was not released until June 20th, 2017. People are not wrong when they say that the current implementation is MUCH, much harder. Neftank would need to be doing on average 1.3k dps to have the same time as Mage Tower 1.0 that’s DOUBLE what tanks currently can do.

It’s insanely hard for me. I know people say it’s doable but for me it feels insurmountable. I’ve gotten the best weak auras and an mmo mouse just for this challenge. I’m demoralized, tired, not having fun. I know people enjoy this challenging content but I just want the transmog because this set is like my dream tmog set from the days of TBC. I just wish it was a tad bit easier is all. The nether adds sometimes take so many cleave sotr to kill. I am being ravaged by them all over the arena. 1400 HP per add is insanely hard. There’s just so many things to take care of. Im convinced I don’t have the brain power to focus on so many things at a time.
I know no one is forcing me to do this and I’ve heard all the insults (get gud) but I’m just tired. Not to mention the materials, pots , flasks, drums and repair costs. I’ve lost over 98000 gold now.
It’s just insurmountable hard. It’s just not reasonable is what I feel. I know I’m not the best tank. I’m only 10/10 heroic and 2106 rating. I just want the transmog because I’ve got sentimental value for this set from the days of TBC is all.
I feel pathetic for having tried so hard so many times to fail miserably. That all this time I’ve spent in this game is useless because I cannot beat this challenge that many people say is doable. I know I’m just ranting at this point and it feels pathetic. But these are not the feelings I wanted to feel from this special event. I don’t know what to say.
