Did anyone catch that Prot warrior I ran into? Ilevel 248, 2400 Rio, stacking crit and mastery, 0 verse and like 200 haste. Telling me the goal of a prot warrior is to not die. His 2k dps on heroic eye was laughable. Even if he mitigates 1k more DPS, I do 2.5k dps more than him, which honestly is more of a gain than a healer would get throwing a few extra heals.

He was so adamant that he was right. He left a group I was in due to low DPS, he was doing 1.7k DPS. I pointed him to this discord to offer help and he claims he's on here.

It's a shame because his belief is a tanks only job is to survive. Sure that is true especially for mythic raiding but there is a balance of damage taken in vs DPS. Most passive hots can keep you alive in heroic raiding while taking basic hits and those will be going out regardless. The difference between his DPS and mine is that of a Hpally in the raid. Like the difference between a Hpally doing zero DPS and a purple parsing damaging Hpally...

Hmm. Usually the meele blast the aoe dmg. Arms, dh, retri, ect usually blast in p2. A nice warbreaker with ancient aftershock or spear of bastion deletes mobs and then you sweeping strike the 2 important mobs.

Warbreaker is almost always ready at the right time.

It's not a one man show, you should coordinate with your team as well. Trees, earth elemental, amz, stuns, interrupts, everything helps.

A lot of people struggle with those 2 pulls - but the reality is that it's not just a tank responsibility. A lot of things to be interrupted / soothed and with Raging people should also help you kite if needed.
All you can do is try to track the interrupts and SR when needed and plan your CD's (try not to blow them all in the first pull, rather kite). Another option is to just skip the 2nd pull and do it later once you have CD's up.

So you do first pull->Skip the "2nd big pull" on the right -> go to the third platform and do that etc.

Something as small as turning your back to a raging warlord melee can kill you

Get in the habit of slowly moving in circles around mobs , but not too much that your dpses get griefed , reduces damage from melees quite a bit if there is some sort of slow on mobs which there likely is

watch back your keys and identify what's hurting you the most first is what I'd advise

im still a fresh raw meat prot warrior with a casual raiding guild but i have been comparing parses between other people in the server

for example between me and some other dude

Pretty sure the main page you're checking is just keeping the "highest" you got at that point of time. If you check his logs date it's 15th of July which is months ago. People have gotten a lot more gear since then etc meaning the actual "parse" compared to current logs (if you click on his log) is 49.

im not familiar with this tactic since on my main dh with another guild we use the limit tactic which is alot easier i suppose

you are playing with the offensive nightfae legendary if you are really concerned about dying play with the wall,
this will help you keep up your shield wall timing.

i just went through some of my logs, but they look nearly identical in terms of cpm

so generally you should do fine

if you are out of personals and the dot is stacking too high call for a healer cd or let them be assigned to you

yeah i feel really comfortable with reprcussion talent than anger management due to the shield block extension

if you checked out the healer i think he might be at fault

if his healing on the low side
