wowhead is most likely defensive focused with ilvl>haste>vers
and if you want to sim for damage i recommend using top gear, as stat weights like that fluctuate a lot with every little change you make with item/enchant/soulbind/legendary etc

People have different approaches to 'how to leave a key'. Some leave after 1 wipe if they are going for IO since they see the group as 'a waste of time'. This is most common at higher key levels when the only reward is score.

In a 15, its more common for people to grind it out since it is generally done for the ever important weekly lottery

However, there are also the people in higher keys who after one wipe will say 'we continuing?' and then the group comes to a consensus on what they should do and its much more polite and well mannered

the thought process behind "ilvl>all" is that you're getting mroe value out of more stats than you are better stats. This is lost on dom slots because the gems give you more than the difference in ilvl's stats would - even before sets are taken into consideration

the 5th slot is defintely up in the air

i personally only use the 4

(and not cause i only have the 4)

My advice though; if you really want to push keys look for people in your guild who want the same and team up. Or find a new guild that fits that need. I'm going to tell you now, there are lots of guilds out there, heroic/mythic prog guilds, that love to have extra tanks hanging around to just do keys 🙂

Because they provide a full 1%+ damage bonus or absorb shield OR MORE in addition to base stats. If you did a lot of Sims you would notice that small stat changes rarely change a full % of DPS where itemization is concerned. A full 1% DPS increase while still giving stats is insane.
