Jakey I've been doing prog with the fateweaver trinket on painsmith; it doesn't always revive me (due to overkill damage limit; Shard of alar has same limitation) but it can save you a lot of times/attempts and allow you to keep progging. No matter how good a player you are..eventually you're getting spiked, something will go wrong...a chained player will punt you into a wall..something. And with Shield wall up you can get revived from ballwall damage, if you don't have 'blackened armor' from tank mechanic.
But yeah..most anywhere in the game, for most any reason..it's not good. But it has niche uses for painsmith, and KT.
like every trinket for prot warrior; it's just another tool for the belt..and I want ALL the tools.

and my issue personally is that, I skipped the 'mythic' shard of alar in my vault in S1..thinking "we're reclearing..i'll just get it next week or after that..someone will trade it to me.." because there was something else I wanted in my vault... of course a week later we were extending lockouts pushing towards sire; and...never..ever saw that trinket again. I had to get it in an ALT heroic run, and given to me..BY and alt. so my shard of alar is 213, my fatescribe is 239..so the Overkill threshold on the fatescribe trinket is a lot higher than shard of alar.

We may have differing ideas of 'small' shields... Something that doesn't really look like I'm able to block a huge mobs attack..I probably feel is small. The one exception is probably the Kyrian 'round' shield mog...it's just large enough to look legit'ish.

The dot ramps up in terms of dmg intake
So the closer the debuff is to running out, the harder it hits. So you have to use your CDs towards the end of it, aswell as not soak beams when the dot is hard ticking on your ass
Unless you have CDs rolling for beam + dot

The stats are more or less effective based on your target lvl. If you have a target you can see it on the tooltip. That should have been it

Sorry if this has been answered before.. I was running my alt prot war through SoD normal today. Got all the way up to KT, but the one boss where I found myself being rage starved was on guardian.
Have a base of 26.7% rage from gear, plus I took into the fray, which I would expect gives me another 10% considering positioning on the fight.. Was running reprisal for most of the run, and had no issues. Should I be running the wall just for guardian ?

I held off on revenge on the second pull since i went down quick without any mitigation .. but it still felt like i wasn't generating enough.. could only intervene ever so often to try to get rage up .. but just felt weird since didn't have the issue on other bosses

hey guys, im trying to push keys friends and one of them is playing a prot warr. we are failing higher keys because he dies a lot. I checked some stuff on detail and found out that his shield block has an uptime of 27%. Is this normal? How much uptime should a prot warr have through an m+ dungeon? We are currently stuck at 18-19 keys. I've tried to look around on m+ logs but warcraft logs still has bfa logs and I dont think they are an accurate reference point for SL. any help would be appreciated

Make him play reprisal legendary + heavy repercussion talent. Usually pumps up shieldblock uptime easily until he is confident play without the talent and go for anger management.

Yup. You should ask if he has problems with rage management. I had a hard time to adapt to 35rage shieldblock after playing legion and there it was only like 15 rage.

Make sure his UI is set up and he actually sees his active mitigation. It might be that SB is simply not on his mind because he doesn't have the visual information to notice

BV over BSC is possibly just because with HR you want to shield slam as much as you can, so revenge dips. and its a generator so it gives you more ignore pains. somewhat same reason some run into the fray too
and lastly, they run celestial because it has both offensive and defensive value compared to lightless force which is pure damage, and is capped at 5 targets
