I mean yes but no
Can't complain about a hard cc when it's something that keeps you from dying when you would have just been dead anyways
Iguess, I just see the bonus HP and extra damage being more beneficial
Like, Niya literally gives you almost as much padding as the podweaver does
but has damage tied to it
avg stacks when slapping AA is around 18, so 18% Max HP, compared to 30% Heal where you're CC'd and they can safely focus your healer for 10s without you being able to peel
Niya also gives you Run without tiring which is a 20% heal if you need to escape from CDs etc..
I would go Night Fae, if not for the fact that I think 75% (or more) of the DPS I play with are Night Fae
want to get that Cov diversity for dem dungeons
cause, AA big dam, and me like big dam 🙂
stone legion heraldry vs sanguine visage
which trinket should I run
both same ilvl
Do you have a 5 man group for herald?
ah forgot to say I only do raids
so i'm unsure how many heralds are around
but I could ask I guess
If you have less than 4 I would go with Vintage personally
I see I see, ty, I kinda agree
It's debatable though on what you prefer
One is pre-mitigation and damage
the other is reactive mitigation
I love passive mitigation
but tbh I love the shield, as ive found some really efficient uses out of it
easy to use
boyz did your alar trinket is broken too ?
Nope
shield at 220 is equal to a health stone iirc
Also, my Alar trinket is killing rogues just fine
hey are Prot warriors good for Mythic + ? ? thinking about trying it out
thanks -
The better question would be, is M+ good for prot warriors?
Or does it give us heartburn
Is m+ good for your health?
Short answer: no.
Long answer: Nooo.
Then again, if you can put up with 3 DPS'ers doing god knows what you can probably put up with anything that life throws at you.
Is pugging good for your health
If you don’t care about timing shit yeah it can be fun
pugging gives me enjoyment
watching people let bolt casts off
ending the dungeon with 6 interrupts
me with 20-30

is necro worth it?
nah
hi is night fae prot warr viable now?
i dont like it anymore
I'm actually going all the Covenants the next few weeks, so far I like Necro more than Venthyr
i prefer venthyr over necro
NF / Kyr are both great for prot
^
NF slaps harder Kyrian gives phial
NF has the advantage of being good for dps specs too and dps as tank
Kyr has more group diversity + phial
yea cuz i wanna try fury nf too so i might pick nf for my warr 😄
📈
went against a NF Arms in arena today
Play w.e you want you can parse 100s regardless of covenant
AA kinda slapped/was annoying
NF means you gets tree armour which is the best plate set
hows NF prot in m+?
high keys
I enjoy necro prot and kyr
NF is probably the biggest pumper in M+
I like necrolord so far and on my arms it’s decent to have an extra 10k shield
Its a non DR stun that knocks NPCs in it down every 3s for 12s
so its a 2nd shockwave that hits for 25k and chain interrupts
but i play with a boomie 24/7 and banner feels fun to watch him bomb bosses
its good
but am kyrian atm cus it feels better
low key, going Circle + Necro on my Druid this weekend too
Yeah I think NF might actually be better for tanking than Kyrian because of the knockdown fucking with casters
sadly the REALLY scary mobs are immune to its knockdown
But you'll take away my owl buddy over my dead body
this is objectively wrong
I'm Kyrian for life because owl buddy rules
One draw back with Night Fae is that Afterschock's rage generation scales based upon targets hit
^
Its factually incorrect

Vent looks dumb with wings sticking off the boots
and the shoulders are horrible
Necrolord>Venthyr
wrong
EASILY
WRONG
You take best served cold for reprisal right? Nothing else changes coming from thunder boots?
FALSE
Vent > necro > kyr > fairy warrior
they don't look warrior, they look Styrofoam cosplayer
yeah bsc and anger management
just swapped nightfae and got bugged on campaign chapter 1 🙏
my issue with the Venthyr armor, and its small cause it does look good, is the boots are very 'slim fit'
I like Kyrian armor
I like the bulkyness of the necro boots
:)
Switched to maldraxxus from kyrian last week
I do enjoy being a Paladin lamppost
Maldrax shoulders are amazing
NF is cool too. I don't super love the Venthyr and Necro armor, it's very edgey feeling to me
You can use other cov armor once you get it
no
i honestly feel like every single covenant plate set looks awful and rally overdone
Same tbh
Got a mage with full vent gear, switched to nf
you have to mog as that cov then swap back
I don't love any of the plate sets
I like the Kyrian stuff but it doesn't knock my socks off or anything
Just gotta use the armor
Kul tiran in full mal armor is scary
if youre kul tiran though why would you use anything except their heritage armor
nathria armor would be cool if it was class specific
like the only heritage set that looks good
I can't get excited about shared sets
Need some viagra if I have that set on
and even then
half chub
nathria does have some top tier weapons thogh
the raid 2h sword? thats some good shit
sword is only for venthyr yeah
Whoever decided they should get rid of tier sets can eat my ass
I fucking love tier sets
diaper babies!
Honestly my favorite part of mythic raiding is getting the extra particle effects on gear
But it hasnt been the case since legion :/
Yeah it's ridiculous that high end raiders aren't allowed to have cool special toys for just them
And I'm not a high end raider, I'm a heroic boi
Plate has had some baller TMogs from M raiding the past few xpacs
The only cool set from BFA for every armor type is honestly BOD Plate
@dapper coral you must be a human then. That tentacle on the helmet clips on every horde race lol
I'm actually Mag'har and Vulpera on my Warrior
and I have the mog on my Zandalari Paladin too
necrolord covers your toes!
until blizzard realizes fun detected
Cause didn't some legion sets have covered feet and people got all excited and then they patched it
I think the ToV set sorta does
Hm I'm frustrated as I don't get it to reduce the damage taken. I try to keep SB up, use my SR, kick on CD and using LS/SW on boss attacks, but still i take damage as hell and get blamed by healers 😦 I think I do something completly wrong.
thanks for reading my mimimi -_-
It's kinda hard to know exactly w/o logs
Against blockable damage, Warriors should have the smoothest intake of all tanks
Yeah sure. i always forget to start creating them
SD should have a lots of blockable damage, shouldn't it?
Basically everything in that dungeon is blockable but first boss smash and the kickable casts
It's just that the gauntlet can be quite taxing and tedious
some routes have a pride going into the gauntlet, which should carry til the lantern
SD, to me, is scarier on Fort than Tyrranical
Same for me personally
might be just the healers forgetting you dont have self healing like the other tanks
Tyrannical is harder on the other four people in your group
Yeah, made 4 keys last ID (for KSM)
Fort is more tank dmg, tyr is gonna deplete your key if you wipe to a boss, if you wipe to trash you can maybe still do it
So tyr is 10x scarier for me
I think fort is a lot harder to execute on as a tank but it's definitely way easier to time in general
Tyrannical is braindead to tank
Are you running Reprisal or Wall
Isnt ip when sb on cd?
Also what kinda keys are you running
running is an option
I hate kitting
I do as well, but it is so useful
Im no damn DH..
Working on my KSM (did 4 keys last id, 2 this id, and one some weeks ago, now SD is missing)
W/ grievous if your dps are getting smacked around it puts a ton of pressure on your healer and you gotta help them
Priority for ip is higher this week
Stray dps damage taken compounds itself so badly in grievous weeks
Plus, you’re dps might not be doing the dps it needs?
My general defensive rotation is charge SB intervene sb sb sb for 32s uninterrupted SB, heroic leap away and sing the gingerbread man song for like ten seconds, then do it all again
F it, blame the damn hunter/rogue
Thinking about that too, most around 3k
For a 15?
Fucking yikes
But far away from the DPS Pika reaches with this 8-10k crits I saw on his stream
Anything over a 15 and dps isn’t 5k+ is auto kick
Well, more like auto leave
But you get it
I was gonna say 4k to be conservative but, uh, yeah
I do 3k as the tank, and warrior tank damage is bad
Yup
5k as tank? 😮
I ain’t no DH
I've been playing fury for literally a week and can do 4.5k dps at like 210 ilvl
On ST
And I'm not parsing purple lol
Lol
Can you advise an addon which is creating logs automatically?
But yeah point being if your dps are only bringing 3k to a +15, get the fuck outta dodge
You were probably doing your rotation right, dps was idiots
Yeah esp on grievous week shit needs to die yesterday before grievous stacks overwhelm the healer
Keys do get ASTRONOMICALLY harder w/ shit DPS
Gotta sneak in IP more though
Yeah you do have to play a little more defensively for sure
But I still blame the dps lol
In my last run at least, 4k owl and almost no one was kicking spells in SD
But I don't count this as an ex..ex... excuse (?unsure if this is the right word)
An excuse implies you did something wrong
If the DPS is that terrible you can't carry them
I'm not sure if I do - except taking to much damage
No kicks means you get reamed with magic
My whole life I was told to first search for erros at myself
Sure another point to fhave logs. I'll google for an addong
https://raider.io/characters/eu/wrathbringer/Bukama thats my profile btw
is necro good for m+ dont wanna change now
its fine but if you are nf or kyr no real reason to change
nah im necro but dont wann go kyrian or nf ;D too much kyrian/nf charactrrs
stay necro if you like it
ye
I gotta do some soulbind for necro warr research
heirmir or emeni
I just threw some crap in it lol
Heirmir kinda stinks sometimes b/c you can't really get a potency into it
Enemi is a lot easier to slot one in
Is gen draven really amazing for prot?
it's considered the best overall defensive soulbind
maximizing defense is overrated a lot of the time
Where do we craft reprisal?
o.O
In Thorgast
Why not
Charge with Reprisal, condemn, enjoy your condemn shield
I use revenge too much 😦
Unless I'm crazy or misreading I could see using condemn on casters in AOE over IP
Occasionally
sometimes I forget to use SB/IP. I just spam revenge and hope for the best
dead stuff can't hit you
Cause condemn says its shield only applies to the thing you hit with condemn
And condemn is about 30% the shielding of IP for, if you only spend 20 rage on it (a big if to be fair), 50% of the rage, and you get back 20% of the rage spent on condemn if it doesn't kill
It's probably not a great idea but it's fun to think about
weird question. if i'm tanking with signet (don't have reprisal yet) and i avatar -> bladestorm in a pack and i'm in no danger of dying, should i cancelaura to spam revenge once i'm rage capped or should i just let the bladestorm rock?
are you guys having trouble keeping aggro aswell on packs? somehow i am severely low on threat and lose aggro quite alot
what's your rotation crex?
i charge in - revenge - tc - ravager to start, then use another defensive and by that time i atleast loose 1 add
with avatar up if possible
the only downside i have atm is using a 210 weapon, but that can't be it i think
yeah i am using reprisal
just waiting for my mission to get the last 80 ash for an upgrade from rank 1 to 3
i recently turned back to protection and got thrown into +15's right away, but i feel like im getting alot of dmg and generate low threat
you kyrian?
ahh, no idea how to weave in condemn with prot
im guessing going NF would solve some aggro problems, but i can't afford changing yet i guess
i'd go kyrian over nf
you can throw ravager before pull to save a GCD for another revenge
i barely use condemn tbh
reprisal -> charge + Revenge should solve most
also toss ravager on pulls
the one annoyance is making sure you hit everyone with reprisal and don't pretty it too early
er, revenge
just made reprisal last night as in i had no tank legendary i feel way tankier now that initial block from charge is nice and i feel like more rage generation
kyrian is 2 fold since it holds the targets in place while you build threat
i am losing threat to mages and boomies atm, and a demon hunter instantly meme beaming
o
Trying out Prot as I level 50-60 in dungeons. My main BDK is going to be retired once I hit 60. Feelsbadman but Warrior feels so fun.
they need to learn to not balls to the damn wall then
run BSC + reprisal?
Venthyr for m+ is like having no covenant
i wondered if it's a warrior thing atm having low threat, when i'm dpsing and see other tanks i don't see any issue
i totally feel you there
ravager -> charge makes a big difference tbh. we can generate enough threat, we do have to work harder for it than some other tanks though
sigma is right, that should solve your threat issues, if not the dps are critting to high
yeah i am
should i go kyrian but im going to lose my 38 level of venthyr
stay ven if your prot is offspec
if you're losing threat with that you're probably missing someone with the revenge on the charge in, which I find is pretty common if you're hitting it early
if its MS, i suggest moving to something else
i keep getting into groups being atank im thinking to make it my full time career
And its really good for fury
it is an offspec yeah, both our MT's hardly play outside of raiding so i stepped in to tank more and help guildies
I'm probably gonna try out NF this week or next, AA is better against casters but Spear against bears is ace
i'm venthyr still, doing fine
NF is just 5 capped
that banner is amazballs
mainly I love spear for bears and the jumpy maldraxxus dudes
Venthyr is just no covenant ability outside of ST which is why its not very good for m+
So youre reliant on your basekit for threat
no o shit button
And warriors basekit is kinda sad atm unless you have bis gear
or pre shit button
my crazy hot take is that everything that affects execute should affect revenge, give us aoe condemn
yeah if you're optimizing for m+ and don't care about anything else don't pick venthyr, but it's totally fine, can do big keys, just gotta work a little harder
if they did that sigma, i'd never switch again.
i really want to go NF, but i'm unsure how much i'll get gimped in raids as fury then xD
i kinda wanna switch to night fae now
Not at all
is NF ability on par with condemn?
NF is maybe the best middle ground if you're kinda doing everything
For fury iirc its pretty much even and in some cases even better
i think NF is alittle behind in raid atm
on some fights it'd be better, but single target fights it's falling behind
is it me, or did blizz basiclly say " Night fae is for everyone!"?
I was just simming myself and NF was neck and neck in ST with venthyr
it's just less useful damage
as it's not execute
if that's what you need
niya is just real overtuned
Just glancing at the top logs for fury you can see nightfae and venthyr are both competitive
link me please lime
Our warrior was topping sire p3 damage as nf fury this week so its not like the execute is bad
is it just fury, or arms also?
arms also has NF close to/at the top
hell, i cleared torghast today for shits and giggles as arms and it went faster then what I thought it would
but you'd rather by NF for prot/fury than venthyr for both
if you are trying to find a middle ground
truth
that was more the point i think
hmmm
now i'm going to reseaarch more
i see that a lot of people are switching to NF fury
i would like to play NF for m+ but nearly everyone that i play with is NF
i think blizz made that shit intentional
am i looking at this dressing room right? Mechagnome have pants with night fae armor?
I mean 2 of the best m+ dps specs just happen to be NF
I guess theres bit more variance now with Ele shaman rising aswell
i tried to make venthry work with my fire mage
i just can't keep up with that damn cooldown business
can someone show me what the talent build with reprisal would look like?
i cant seem to find it on icyveins or pins
?
switch to best served cold
and AM
OHHH
my bad
i was looking at another page with talents
sorry
i found it now too

storm bolt share DR with SW right? or am I having a slow moment
Stuns in general do yes.

@ionic fern why is CT not the most optimal choice 🤔
Why is there variance
Like its by far the best talent in the row regardless of situation
You don't really need it.
Most people prefer to play without it in general me included.
Yes.
Its better for your overall threat especially earlier on in pulls
The pack sizes are small enough that the extra range doesn't matter + you have Ravager/AA/Spear etc for AoE threat so it's a non issue.
But it's still a solid option and some people prefer it, hence the "?" on both.
I mean theres multiple packs in m+ where thats not really true
hmmm
And your tc wont hit all of the mobs without it
It's not like i'm advising people not to use it,as i said, it can be played. 🙂
Ye im not saying that
you have me thinking about switching from Maldraxxus to NF with that link @elfin nova
I was out dpsing some of our dps tonight with reprisal in heroic CN 8l
i think both the kiting meta and reprisal make bounding stride more attractive
double time would be worth it more then bounding
double time is less worth
it's harder to slide in that many charges mid-fight as tank, easier for dps
i would intervene my healer, then charge. but i guess less buttons to push
that wastes a revenge
is the cooldown on reprisal not a thing?
the shield blocks add
cooldown on reprisal?
what conduits do we wear 2 endurance or 2 potencies for prot mythic plus
o, i didn't know they add up. I thought it resets to 4 after every 1
they add up to i believe 18 without bolster, including your own casts
yep ^
does the reprisal effect gives the 50 % damage to revenge when BSC ??
yup
its not like the necro dungeon bonuses are game changing
the necro transmog is the reason I haven't
same
same
all dungeon bonuses are nice to haves imo, but i wont change NL i'm loving fleshcraft and i like the conduits more too, also my raid team is happy with the banner buff haha
not to mention the transmog looks awesome in my undead 😛
well dwarfs looks so badass too :D, almost all clasess but orcs, they awful imo haha
if you're 200 item level, you are at least mildly potato
Hi, i really want to get memory of reprisal, all guides say that it can only be obtained from upper reaches in torgahst but wow head says that gherus he chained in skoldus halls can drop it. does anyone know if this is right?
Recommendation on covenant if you MS prot for raids but still play a good amount of arms and fury...across all content
it might be better, but it's also not in the mix here
Hmm NF it is then...damn really was liking condemn..wish it wasn’t ass for prot
it's not bad for prot in raid on single target, but it does feel bad sometimes
esp in m+
it's booty
I’m the off tank for raids so maybe it wouldn’t be that bad..
nothing to lose by trying it out
I’ve been dungeon grinding as I level to 60, trying diff covs
your covenant choice will not be the deciding difference between success and failure on a raid boss
True
and all four are genuinely valid for prot and generally valid for warrior overall
necro is the only one that's iffy for dps, but it's not actually that bad
Yeah necro is def out
Honestly it’s between NF and Venthyr
i think necro fury loses almost as much dmg as two boomkins would gain by getting their banner with each cavoke
where it basically becomes a wash
venthyr is best for damage on raid bosses specifically, though night fae has effectively bridged the gap for dps specs
so if your sole priority is raid boss damage as your different specs
then proceed with venthyr
otherwise i would say nf
or i guess two aff locks are the biggest winners from banner simp
is this the prot channel 😄
no, this is patrick
But ret is the best melee behind dk 🤔
Well yes
who brings melee in raid, you only have to bring them for their unique buff
yo guys @strong forum is stalking me in twitch
Its behind the most broken melee spec so i wouldnt really say ret is bad
if you're a melee and you don't have a unique raid buff, and you aren't a death knight
hope that 3 ranged dps are absent tonight
so basically if you aint a dk or warrior
the perennial wow design
make melee fun, add more melee specs
and then make being melee bad
Melee isnt even bad for last 2 a.k.a the only fights that matter 😪
Its just matter of people playing what they are best at instead of blindly following fotm outside of top20
hi guys
i read guide and faq, but i can't decide, i'm new to protection warrior, which covenant do you suggest? i only do m+
kyrian or night fae
necrolord

😄
why?
depends on your comp
i dont like necrolord
In my mythic group I got a fire mage and a balance druid and we all do comps so we can communicate
best covenant for multispec?
night fae
Necrolord to embrace your inner simp
prolly NF
U shouldn't
too each their own
They should
and is still good as protection, right?
realistically you can play whatever covenant you want and be able to do a +15 on time
night fae is great
its aoe is nice until mobs move out of it or you have to kite and its useless in boss fights
in my opinion
its not useless on bosses
per target
you control where the mobs go (for the most part)
every warrior convanent ability say for venthir generates rage
second question is revenge
It also does decent damage but for sure if you play with controlled group and actively communicate you can make a case for necrolord
should i cast it only if free?
cast it a lot
but thunder clap has major prority, right?
time to switch covenants again
is their a time frame on how long you can switch back to your old covenant?
NF beats out every other covanent in aoe damage, kyrian provides burst rage and consistant damage in aoe and ST while providing us a nice defensive cd with the phial since prot warriors got issues dealing with bleeds
you spend rage on SB>revenge>>>>>>IP @stone sonnet thats the priority for 95% of all m+
ip?
ignore pain
oh right
do you have a suggested wa and plater profile?
i use luxthos but i don't find it so good
hello! thinking about joining the tanking squad, the WoWhead guide says that prot war can be a bit boring, is that a thing?
Not since reprisal, I've rediscovered my love for prot war
the guide also says it can be a bit complicated
and ive literally never tanked before
will this be an issue lol
coming from a healer standpoint, i felt warriors were the most smooth to heal compared to the other classes
never having tanked before is always going to be there
fucking up, costs you more than other tanks
until you try it
dude prot warrior is fun af
its soo to hear yourself block an attack
or too spell reflect and finding out which boss mechanics can be spell reflected
when the main healer I run with found out prot wars can spell reflect Reaping scythe in ToP he basically shat his pants
i was thinking of leveling a warrior from fresh to learn the basics
as opposed to boosting
if you run dungeons from 50 on youll be fine
pretty sure you can SR Rite of Supremacy in Sanguine depths\
Made the swap to necro for fun and so glad I did that with the change to the new leg
Man what a day!
i debated it seriously for a while, decided to stay NF.. cant give up ancient aftershock
Only bummer now is having to grind out the Anima
The shield is really nice and useful 2 min is not a long cd at all and the banner is amazing for alot of mechanics
people wont be pissed i cant tank if i level from 50?
I love SR mazhuella in mythic. People freak when they find out it works
is there a list of spells that i can sr?
pins
DPS mess it up a lot...or maybe because I pug a lot.
Switched to night fae, f it
prot paladin > prot warrior
ok
blind squirrel eventually finds the acorn
arguing that prot paladin or prot warrior is best is like choosing your favorite flavor of mealworm
also give it until more stats become available prot warriors scale the hardest
ehh id slow your roll on that
being buffed to shit and getting broken items at the end of an expansion
thus making them "scale hardest"
sure
how ever you want to put it we also scale well with stats in general due to passives
they way i want to put it is outside by the dumpster along with all other discussions of scaling in modern wow
it's just patch by patch tuning and borrowed power these days
inherent scaling or lack thereof is just not nearly a factor in comparison
Wait for Blood DK lol
Once the double legendary comes, who will be able to stop them...
second leggo = borrowed power
y
blood Dk's kit is really good for raiding
yeah im not really a fan of the whole barrowed power thing it feels bad
trinkets and set bonuses still fall into the same category, just to a lesser extent
you'd like the game to feel more the same from expansion to expansion?
nah i just think set bonuses would be better
isn't that temporary borrowed power too
correct
A kind of borrowed power i enjoy is weapon with cool effects
Like Gur'thalak etc...
so artifact weapons
Yes and no
Artifacts weapon worked well
but i'm thinking more like cool effects like... The 2 handed sword from BFA
i think it would be kind of cool is if later in the expansion they allow us to turn our artifact weapons into rune blades like they did with Schalomane and anduin
since we cant delete them
Yeah but they wont do that because it means people will have to unlock them through legion content
which they wont do.
they would probably include a sort of short cut to get one. Id just like something else to be done with them since its sitting in my bank taking up space
After wow 9.0.5 patch, can I get information about legendary and covenant bis?
hey if i did torghast after already have 8000 soul ash
do i get it mailed after crafting something?
Afaik yes
you sure
I would doubt it as it's a cap
Pins
Wasn't there a problem where people forgot to loot soul ash and they didn't get mail? And even Blizzard said it was intentional
Pretty sure
Nah they changed it so it goes postmaster if you forget to loot
But if you're capped
That's different
Yeah a cap is a limit.
Mistveil Tender in mists if you forgot to kick her 😄
im just reading that blood elf is master race for m+
but highmountain is a good race for warrior tank
and ive never made a HMT before so that could be cool
just trying this b/c it's new but you guys think bolster is still required pretty much?
nah
nop
reprisal fills the gaps
^^
im a bit afraid to ask, but what IO are you guys
i'd probably play storm bolt instead of DT as well, its super hard to get good use out of the second chage imo
is BSC > booming voice?
yuh
seems like it may not be super valuable
with reprisal
we get the rage that BV gave us and more with reprisal
What trinkets people like for 15ish keys
Reprisal bis is legs?\
So, what covenants are you guys playing for prot ? I'm currently playing as Kyrian, have done all 15 keys
Has any of you tried Necrolord ? Is it worth it ? Or it's just overrated ?
I feel it’s the safest going into next tier but if you can get mythic slg legs you can also craft boots
Am I right in reading that Condemn does less damage than regular execute because of the AP scaling? Or is it basically the same because of the whole, shadow dmg ignoring armor part?
it does a bit more because of the shadow damage
am i the only one who doesn't really like the new reprisal style
If you're pugging it's not worth it.
You need to be in an organized group with classes that make use of mastery
So only in organized groups.. thanks
in subcreation it seems like this is the best build for higher keys still
It's taking some getting used to, but I enjoy it for M+. Raid I still like my rage from The Wall
i used to hate it too.. but it takes time to learn the playstyle
@limpid pawn There's people doing +20 with AM too
@dark lark should i stick to this tree of Pelagos ? Or go with Phial of Patience ?
Lmao, snipping tool bro
I would put Spear conduit in the bottom potency slot, that way you always have it.
I also saw some Kyrian warrs playing Kleia
Phial of Patience is nice but not required, I personally go that row if I need a finesse conduit like big rally or safeguard.
Should i get ashen juggernaut ?
Or what else ?
Your dps is only increased a tiny bit
I was tryin' 2 work with what i have 😄 And what i saw others used aswell
Nah if you go second potency then yes go show of force. I'm just saying it's a very minor dps increase
I personally do run Phial of patience + finesse conduit based on situation
Nice.. thanks for the tip
I'm also not Kyrian anymore lol
As for Brutal Vitality against Unnerving Focus ? What do you think... ?
I thought that Unnerving Focus got a bit more value by running Bolster..
Mostly doing keys
But now that we're running Reprisal with AM it feels like it doesn't give us that much value anymore
2min cd
Mechanic where there's lots of bleeds (i.e. sire p3, millicent manastorm, etc) ? Last stand and ignore pain spam. Execute range? Last Stand and spam execute
It's was very versatile with bolster, but without bolster you have more freedom on when you use it
Brutal Vitality felt very underwhelming to me, even the 226 version
Ok.. so it also increases rage generation from other sources aswell
I thought it increased only rage generation via auto-attacks or smth like that
Yeah. If you hit execute range and drop ravager + spear, its a shitton of rage
I'm night fae
I tried necrolord for a week and it was extremely underwhelming for my group and raid
(my m+ comp is pwar rsham mm outlaw ww)
I run with a boomkin and fire mage for my push group, and necro still felt not fun to play
As night fae, I'm doing a good 1k more overall in dungeons than when I was necrolord
Oof
And the extra dmg wasn't game changing for us
I was about to say that would've been THE comp to run with
Like, they enjoyed it. But it felt awful for me
Yeah, only thing I liked about necro was the transmog
If you're running The Wall, how important is Anger Management? I've really gotten used to Bolster...
And a good xmog is worth about 5% dps
At least with night fae my damage is huge, my dps off spec is actually relevant, and I'm a beautiful butterfly
So, you like night fae more than kyrian ?
Before Reprisal I used AM in raid and Bolster in keys with the Wall.
That kyrian potion feels quite useful in Necrotic weeks.. as for spear of bastion, it's kinda good damage and rage generation
AM let's you use your shield wall extremely liberally for mechanics in raid
AM is great for more avatars and more shield walls.
But if you need to have the extra SB uptime for some fight, then go bolster
I've never actually timed it but by most accounts: shield wall conduit + the wall + am = about a 1.5-2min cd on shield wall
They're both viable and I swap depending on the fight.
Definitely, it's situational. For early CN, I used AM on shriek, bolster on Huntsman, AM on Hungering/Darkvein/Sun King
Thanks for the tips @dark lark, best wishes! ^^
I run bolster on Huntsman because I tank hecutis and I don't move at all
When I timed it, best case I could get SW down to 55-57sec
Spear is indeed good damage/rage gen, AA is similar just bigger burst. Kyrian is just awful for arms/fury though which is why I went NF
Oh.. i tried a bit of arms and it didn't feel that bad. But i'm not pushing 20+ keys, so i guess you know it better
I'm used to kiting necrotic stacks from BFA, I've never actually used Phial for necrotic
I did use Phial a lot in plaguefalls though
Stupid diseases
Sadly the bleeds you want to Phial off don't work, like the vanquishers in sun king and sire/remornia
Fuck those bears
😄
That bleed in Sunking they changed like 2months into the tier too. Such BS
If your Kyrian you can spear+leap to reset stacks on the bears
Yeah as NF I literally just avatar ravager AA and then haul ass
I hold my ground and tank for the 20ish seconds of avatar and some demo shout and then I'm kiting
Dogs' jaws of stone hit me through block for like 12k each
- deadly thrust + bleed
I low key hate hoa the most
For M+ should I change anything from the norm as far as talents if I run Reprisal?
You can run AM instead of bolster if you want to
Reprisal m+ build is devastator BSC indomitable ravager AM
Ya bsc is pog with Reprisal
Double time/storm bolt row is preference, crackling thunder/bounding stride is preference
I also never run ravager, but maybe I'm crazy
Sometimes I accidentally run ITF in a key right after raid but I just roll with it lol
Not a big difference maker
Ya, I personally find I waste the rage from ravager too often. But that's a me playing shitty thing.
So BSC is worth it with Reprisal? That was what I was fishing for
Absolutely
Revenge is my top damage by a lot now with this build
The extra procs of Revenge! looked like it would be. When I saw BSC reworked I really wanted to run it
Tbh I like it for the snap agro at the beginning of pulls
The rage is just a bonus for me
WHich item slot for reprisal?
Legs, unless you already have mythic SLG on farm
My guild might never kill mythic SLG so I crafted legs
Haste vers
Still haste/vers
thanks
o
Funny story: when I first crafted my 190 the wall in like the second week of the expansion, I accidentally put on haste mastery. But I didn't want to get behind on upgrades so I just kept it and upgraded it all the way to 235 /shrug

Anyone have a weakaura or something to track the two closest people for Necro Banner?
plka, is necrolord better than kyrian for M+
can you give us your opinion if possible please
@patent osprey
Sorry what is BSC?
"PlkaKO Is Necrolord Bis for Prot War in 9.0.5? PlkaKO
I think the change for Necrolord will make Necro BIS for Prot warrior in Raids but I think itll make prot warrior bis for High keys in a very coordinated group. If you are doing keys less than like 20, then Kyrian or NF are probably better for overall play and performance. Trying to align banner in pugs is more difficult than one would think and doesn't help you with initial threat or aggro."
That's from his discord
Best served cold talent
Thank you
Will that weakaura trigger when combat starts?
It is always active unless you change the load
Is it sad that I left kyrian because i think they’re a bunch of whiners?
Nah Im with you
I imported it but it is not showing up
Are you in a party?
In raid atm
On CD?
Nope
I mght have to reload
Are you NL lol? ^^
Lol
yeah lol
Might be spec specific also
in prot
Well Im out of ideas
The owl buddies were the one redeeming factor to that band of self righteous zealots that wipe their memories
Can you see it at all when you have WA open?
Well, do it
mid pull
with this new legendary its still haste>vers=crit>mastery or mastery gets higher?
Yes
yes what
Is thier a haste cap? And can we hit it?
Reprisal gives us even higher uptime on SB so mastery falls of more in my opinion
There are soft caps at 25%
But only a 10% penalty
hey guys, Head piece 213 major versa + socket
or head piece 220 major haste no socket
considering im going push towards 20 keys and higher after that
minor haste i mean the 220 head piece
and major mastery
btw, i also have 226 glove minor crit high mastery, would u guys trade those for ilvl 220 haste versa?
Guys, Any opinion about Beating Abomination Core? is good? 194ilvl does anyone have some comparation
@woven trellis I would go highest ilvl for those slots regardless of socket. You get a lot of main stat which is most important. Jewelry is a different story.
wdym jewelry is a different story
jewelry doesn't give main stat so it's a bit more lenient, but for the most part it's the same
it does if u chose to put 7 str
that's not the slot itself, just socket
im sorry i feel dumb im just not sure what u mean like related to my question
are u saying that having a socket doesnt change that ilvl wtv happens
like
we talkin about a helm with no socket a major main stat which is the worst for m+
against a helm that is just 1 bracket ilvl lower (220 to 213) with socket, and a huge bunch of the most important stat
What's the difference in str
Helm is (one of) the slot where ilvl is strongest, it has high stat budget
If you're going to push 20 keys you should just farm darkfrost helmet and upgrade that to 220 (and add a socket), if you can't get mythic sire helm or a 226 pvp one that is
But str stam and armor all matter and secondaries are not that impactful. If you really want to optimise for vers you just have to go and do pvp
its 5 str diff
ye i started pvp but pvp gear is 213 for now and i have a lot of 226 for m+
from m+
Sure
Re: the helm question, it will be pretty close together because of the socket but it really won't make that much of a difference
im sure this has been asked a million times
but is this beating abomination core good
Nightfae
No wait
Uh it's not bad for the ilvl but if you have decent options from raid/dungeons it's probably not worth using
If you are still gearing it's not a bad choice. Queensguard vigil was up on eu the other day and is decent for the ilvl too
i just have pvp trinkets atm cause just starting playing prot again since bfa
Definitely gonna be better than your medallion then yes :p
hi guys, im wondering what the usual uptime for ignore pain in m+
im having around 30%
is it too low
uptime on Ignore pain is not all that important, and should only be used should you need it; the rage spent on ignore pain is rage that couldve been spent on SB. Purpose of ignore pain is to eliviate heavy magic, bleed, dot damage not necesarrily melee
not saying dont press it if you have the excess rage, I jus wouldnt worry about uptime
also, looking at a couple of random logs of prot wars in 18 keys, it looks to be around 35% uptime
another guy at 25%, so you are probably using it fine, just make sure you are using it at the right time rather then using it all the time
Up time is dependant on rage and what content you’re doing, there’s no rule for it
IP is just a filler, it’s not active mitigation
I need to know how to improve at these m+ keys, right now im stuck at barely timing +7-9, or not timing at all. One group ive singled out as special was a +9 DoS, and was one where we were going to lose on time by a few minutes, until we wiped on the last boss due to grievous but the packs of mobs in there were hitting me super hard, and I was wondering if it was me, or just an average healer and slow dps (more info: one dps pulled 1.7k, the other two pulled 3.2 and 4.7. And the healer pulled 3.1 hps)
What's your ilvl?
196
That should be fine for +9s
1.7k is awful DPS, but with the other two it's not crazy bad overall
for reference that was for the entire dungeon and I pulled 2.3k
what about the healing because I noticed I was getting hit hard by packs that normally dont hit as hard
Using Shield Block and cooldowns at appropriate times is what keeps you alive
yeah I got a weakaura that allows me to keep pretty high and efficient uptimes, but the packs were dying so slowly, Id run out of defensives
Grievous+Fortified can indeed hit you hard, DoS has some nasty trash packs
Kiting is also an option to keep in mind
If you're out of defensives, tclap for snare, then leap away
yeah thats usually what would end up happening
then id get sniped by a cast
thing is for the first group in dos I usually use last stand, and for the second I use shield wall, and usually save my kyrian pots, or healthstones for oh shit kinda moments, but by the end of the first pack I was depleted of every cd but shield wall, cause the packs werent dying
It's usually smart to bloodlust that first pack since at a normal pace you'll have it back for hakkar anyway, so it doesn't drain you as long
But depending on gear, it's often right to get as much threat as you can during your opening CDs and then start kiting as soon as they run out
For the second pack, do the same thing with shield wall, but interrupting shadowcores is important there so it's not all on you
yeah I usually try to maintain a presence at the pack until the one big guy enrages, when I heroic leap or intercept out and kite until it ends
then pop a round of shield block and ignore pain until they die
oh that reminds me of another thing. No one was interrupting, after a while it got a bit better, but every scribe, and shadowcore was coming straight at me
well
and im sitting over here low health trying to kite out of range of the caste who I marked as skull and said to interrupt but who still had as much health as the melee
getting sniped by magic dmg as a warrior
best you can do is spell reflect basically on cooldown
yeah which I will admit I am shit at
but im trying to get better
ill get a couple spell reflects a group
im gonna run a key and see how it goes with my my new information
DOS is those three bad packs (one of which has a jar) and then good ardenweald pulling and that's about it
but those packs are among the roughest
yeah, I noticed the dungeon was much easier with a group all pulling 4k dps and actually stunning/interupting
hi, i noticed prot warriors are doing well, so figured might swap to protection,
what is the best covenant rn and best lego?
mainly focusing on m+ but tank
all except venthyr are good
Necro more for grps that known each other to coordinate the banner
pvp wise kyrian is the way or necro?
Kyrian and NF are more general with some like NF more due movement etc, others kyrian for phial
I don't play pvp
thanks man
I'm kyrian, for spear and phial
most say; reprisal for m+, the wall for raid. I go fine with this. reprisal is fun
thunder was m+ before the patch, when repirsal got changed completly
Have fun 🙂
Nah nah
Go Nightfae
@cobalt marten
It has little to do with the movement
Nightfae pumps damage and AA is far more valuable than spear in terms of its actual CC
necro master race
Wait, if AA knock them down every 3 seconds, for exaple, almost none of those nasty spell on first big pull in DOS for its duration?
That big boi is immune to stuns!
AA has a stun? TIL
The knockdown is a wee stun.
Hey fellow warriors ✊🏼 I’ve a question regarding Mythic raiding. If you are abit undergeared (215 ish) What legendary would you recommend for best defensiv mitigation? Thanks
the wall
Always the wall!
Ye, but there are still 3 more casters there, I mainly interested in them
I mean that's what we all started as
Well a bit lower
The earliest kills were both lower iLvl and had lower renown, so less Stamina and fewer Soulbind powers/conduits
Kyrian is best for pugging right?
kyrian pot is undeniable, night fae and reprisal lets ya get in there a whompin and a stompin hard
aint wrong to pick either
but i would say if you multi spec i'd lean night fae unless you pvp
Yo guys, im starting to do 19+ Keys now, and somehow i feel my conduits are not ideal (Kyrian), Currently i use Pelagos with "Piercing Verdict", "Stalwart Guardian", "Show of Force", "Unnerving Focus" [2x Potency, 2x Endurance] ; But somehow i dont feel "Show of Force" in higher Keys, what do you guys think? Im thinking about going 1x Finesse (Rallying Cry thing), 2x Endurance (same as above) and getting rid of Show of Force. And what do you think about going Kleia and Mikanikos? Probably not that good huh
For the fun of it, I swapped to bring a necroboi. It does make be a little more tanky but it... Feels a little.... clunky. The 3-sec channel just doesn’t fit with the speed/fluidity of using reprisal and Banner feels a little.... lack luster.
Swapped from Kyrian so I might give NF a go.
In general you shouldn't have any issues with Show of Force on those levels .
You can obviously still run a finesse conduit if you want to, a lot of people actually prefer it.
Kleia has some potential optional uses on Necrotic weeks etc but in general Pelagos is the go-to jeah
Kleia Sims higher for me 👍 on ST and on multitarget so I just roll with my girl
@odd verge casting fleshcraft while moving
Well, dmg is not my highest prio bro on 19+ keys^^
fml
Why not
It's not that big of a change from survivability pov tbh
Yeah conduits and soulbinds have an irrelevant amount of power behind them for us
Like teensy tiny power
what if I wanted to multi-spec as fury what would be best cov for prot and fury
nf
Playing better and coordination with your group is the biggest and only relevant survival gain for keys
Besides ilvl
Which last COnduit Slot u takt for Kleia? Prolly the endurance one right? gives us some crit
Ye
Kinda stuck with with Emeni and the route if wanna move and channel fleshcraft.. 😦
Kleia is only good cuz of the crit
Ye, prolly the show of force thing gives us good dmg in the overall dungeon. Can i track it somehow how much dmg that thing deals? would be really cool to see
TC hits like a noodle tho. It just makes it hit like less of a noodle.
Ye, thats my point 😄
On ST it's ~1% DPS increase.
On AoE(5 targets) it's around 2-3%
Just finished implementing it in SIMC yesterday so both this and Unnerving should be in soon.
TC is like 6-7% of your dmg in total
@odd verge i really like emeni, on big pull i generate aggro and if i dont have big cd up just fleshcraft and dodge shit on ground, poggers
Buffing that by 20% is not really huge
why is it in Mythics when i get a 5% fort buff my hp jumps to 70k+
but in bg not?
214 ilvl
im trying to find the best soulbind for prot as venthyr, but im sturggling like all of them seem good, any advice what would be best, i like the haste from nadija but theotar has good ones at the end of his tree
Maybe different soulbinds/gearsets
