legs, unless you want to get the mythic SLG legs
idk if I will get that far lol
just do legs
even if u get M SLG legs late, there's no guarantee that next tier will have high ilvl legs
ok here is new discussion with my haste i have good uptime on SB so why would i go for reprisal ?
are you already running AM?
reprisal gets you 85% effective SB uptime while running BSC and AM for dam
no i feel more comfortable with Bolster in pugs
well that's why you'd run reprisal tho
reprisal will let you feel comfortable with AM in pugs lol
what is AM and BSC?
i just use Bolster for self healing
Anger Management, Best Served Cold, talents
Ah
hmm i think i have to get used to it without it
reprisal feels spazzy for the first few keys but once you get the timing of it it starts to feel really good because you have much more avatar uptime and retain most of the SW CDR that you'd get with wall
i used reprisal but i so used to 25 rage on SS
you save so much rage with reprisal if you get in the habit of using it
the free revenge + bonus rage
Never Surrender or Indomitable?
Indom
indom always
Indomitable
itf = raid, ravager = m+
makes sense
Best serve cold simming better than booming now?!? I guess all the revenge procs huh
Booming is great for tnw though to be honest i did average 5k dps with the weapons in tnw lol
I thought damage buffs weren't meant to work on non-class stuff
Any bosses in SL dungeons where its worth using shattering throw?
how about conduits, does this looks good?
Replace the ignore pain one with a potency conduit
but I just got it as 226 '-'
icebound aegis on last boss of NW
blood barrier on hakkar
and idk if it's worth it but I do it
ist worth, or those meat horror that does shield if u didnt inturrup
I'm not sure, 2 shield slams
or maybe an execute crit
you do see the shield chunk down
Yeah execute crit I would say
reminder that aegis happens just before comet storm so you have to time it
don't be standing there casting and get blasted
LF TANK FOR +13 SOA :'(((((
shattering throw does like 10-12k
it is always worth using against hakkar and nalthor, try to get the timing down so you're casting it when they're about to shield/casting shield
Prot brothers - question for you - this is Le Vault for the week and for the first time i'm conflicted.
Just got a 220 Shield from Denath and I have a 207 Emitter and Heraldry already. Thoughts?
Is heroic Denathrius supposed to hurt real bad?
shield 6 ilvl is huge
Yes. Particularly Phase 3. With gear, he's started to just kind of hit like a wet noodle in Phase 1, but there is potential for some scuffy moments in Phase 2.
i always pop SW when we go through mirror cuz he gets some juicy back hits
also let your healers know not to neglect the non-active tank in P3 since scorn hurts a bit.
taunt swaps happen pretty quick in P3 but its a very scripted phase so the rhythm is easy to settle into
yeah you can go lower but he can actually go taunt immune
generally it's pretty safe to taunt when debuff falls off (which is usually 4-6 depending on if you taunt durin the combo)
Right
i'd just aim for taunt when debuff gone
This was the cause of more than a fair share of tank deaths in p3 for my guild before we had it comfortably figured out, and it irked me and my co-tank every time lol. I strongly agree with saying something about it to the healers early
it still gives us anxiety on carry runs lol
half our healers DPS parsin n we're like...plz gib helth
is prot better for main tanking or off tanking sludge or does it not matter
it is better to main tank by pulling agro off your step tank to demoralize them.
How can I see my effective shield block time in logs?
It’s hairy when your running through the mirrors that’s where it can get hairy
Did they change anything to HoA over the last month or so? been having a hard time with it lately in higher keys
I know that feel. I have definitely been slapped in the back of the head by Denathrius. After the first few "O shit" moments I started to just pop a CD as I go through the mirror.
If I swap to a covenant today, can I start working back towards my previous immediately? Or do I have to wait til reset?
Does anyone know if you can use Kyrian Spear in Spires of Ascention on Pride mobs?
@jaunty vector the MC'd gargoyles do way less dmg now
If you're using them heavy it's a p significant dps nerf to your group, otherwise not much that I can think of
tfw you go seismic on sun king and still don't rank 1.
Blame the healers
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/zone/rankings/26#boss=2399&class=Warrior&spec=Protection i did it, thanks homies
Dat bad if your using reprisal on sludge on a bad pull it show be 85% blocked hits if its a normal pull 95+% blocked hits
What leggos are you guys run ing for m+? It still the thinderclap one?
reprisal
If he hits the combo I just taunt before his last hit (6th stack on other tank), but I have stupid pally tank in my guild who don't gets it and uses fucking bubble when I taunt the boss sadge
The Wall, still waiting for all nerfs to settle down to craft 4th 225
Doubt reprisal is getting nerfed
🦀
I wish it was better though
Imho if they buffed it back to pre nerf from beta itd be better than reprisal
And it would go further to fixing our actual problem area
But that's my 2 cents
TL?
Yep
I'd take much higher uptime on DS than more block
Blockable damage doesnt scare me
And if we had prenerf TL itd be nuts
Ok now im confused
Blockable damage doesnt scare you, so why would you not have higher block uptime?
How so?
Blockable damage isn't normally the issue in m+, it's non blockable stuff. Bleeds, casts etc.
Yeah
Yeah ok i agree to some extent
Reprisal lowkey fun tho
I dont like it
Honestly

But yes I'm coming at the legendary selection from a perspective of I wish we had some that helped out in areas of weakness instead of trying to just make what we're already good at better
fix base class instead of borrowed power
i dont want it
I agree
But also
We got what we got
And they like fixing through borrowed power and not changing the class until beta
What is the current thinking on reprisal slot
legs
I'd assume that legs are the play
unless u can get mythic SLG legs
but I see a lot of top players playing feet
'unless u can get mythic SLG legs'
☝️
makes sense
Show feet
Hey, I just started prot a few weeks ago and I'm starting to tank keys. First time tanking, so its been fun.
Anyway, someone recommended I go seismic reverberation as my lego... I'm currently using reprisal and its doing okay. Is seismic even good?
Seismic is good for lower keys where damage intake is not a problem but if you are just starting our and learning tanking then a more defensive option would probably be better.
In general The Wall is easier to play with but Reprisal should be the "go-to" for most people.
I was gonna use the wall for raids when i get that far.
Honestly, even though its my first time ever tanking and playing prot, reprisal is fun AF imo
Then keep on playing Reprisal. 🙂
Solid! Thanks amigo, appreciate it
Can you do Twisting corridors for legendaries?
yus
I just realized I somehow do not have Reprisal even though I've definitely done upper reaches
go into layer 3
reroll it till u get upper reaches
rince and repeat till u get the boss
Reprisal is really easy to play with if you do two things. Use raid style party frames or get a UI like grid etc, install clique, bind intervene to a button you use easily and just hover over party frame to intervene to friend when needed.
You can even kinda use it to generate a bunch of rage and HP if needed in dire situations too by intervening to ranged, then charging back in and just spending the close to 100 rage you’ll have then
just around to help
My companions also just clutched a lvl 60 mission for soul ash, else I would be down like 50 ash to make 235 Reprisal

made signet this morning as i did a key as dps last night and got sad i didnt have it
Personally using a heal harm mouse over macro for charge and intervene
Saves keybinds and makes it pretty easy to get the most out of reprisal
Did we try mass bug reports to blizzard yet?
its not broken difference spell id
Because ravager isnt bladestorm
Arms ravager is bladestorm
Prot ravager is ravager
I do enjoy ranfomly spinning
@sand condor reprisal sludge comming soon
We got stuvk oun reclearing coincil
Signet 📈
😦
when the range can learn to break the last chain so we dont get early chrage
and for them not to die
Wow I cannot type
Nice
My dps still have to figure out how soaking works
And am getting paired with ANOTHER co tank
Woo
A 4th one?
A 5th
You sure that the sim accounts that our ravager doesn't proc signet

I dont know
Sim without rav

Fakin copy cat
But grats
Dod you go fury to mog it to artifact weapon?
i study from the best
nah theres a little scumaz go to hammer of justice discord tmog channel and look at the pins
But 🤫
yer shush
bruh
So nah
Jake...
Interesting
How dare you
also sad times if we kill sludge i may have to give the tmog of chest away
its 130 ilvl
i lvl everything
but dont play them 🤷
got to get the mission tables ticking over for the gold
ogey
Heresy
I got passed on for 4 pieces I won last night
Cus the hpal we’re gearing got them all
But that does probably mean I’m getting a main tank spot
So sacrifices
what are you venthyr for?
Single target slapping probably
how does venthyr even work
You press condemn instead of ignore pain
I was. Too and now im nf cus I don’t care
what about in m+
So not ideal
For damage id go night fae
But kyrian>venthyr
Trying necrolord this and next week
Then probably going kyrian
APL was adjusted to Revenge more, IP less and for Venthyr they don't use IP anymore in Execute phases.
hi what is better for M+ haste/Versa or Versa/Haste? I can push me to 19% haste and 28%versa or even 21%haste and 22% versa. But mostly i run RND and i have the feeling that they don´t get healed me ( SB and IP is all time up)
did i read something here about a list of pwar streamers?
yeah think a lsit was added to the pins, haven't checked yet
Yessir, Mwahi added some to the Prot Faq's in #268491842637660160
thanks!
think this guy could be added? https://www.twitch.tv/tattman
Hey, I'm Tattman. I'm 23 y/o and I love to play games, therefore I spend the majority of my days doing so. On this stream you'll mostly see Path of exile and World of warcraft, but I do try out new games on occasion.

Hi guys, does the mythic plus talent build change when going from thunderlord to reprisal?
I swap from Booming to BSC
BV to BSC
Bolster to AM
cool thank you, is there any value in taking double time or bounding stride
Bounding Stride is already a default in m+ for many people.
Double Time does gain some value with Reprisal but you will be losing a ST stun from Storm Bolt so use your own judgement there.
I prefer to run DT the vast majority of people are running Storm Bolt.
how is VDH damage compared to pwar damage atm?
great thanks for the help, is the play style with reprisal charging in and then intervening our and then charging back in again? basically what im saying is do you want to by using the reprisal proc on charge and intervene CD
out*
it'd be best if you had another melee in your team
so you don't intervene out of combat
IV will have a update soon regarding Reprisal usage in m+ but in short:
Charge in->SB (to get one charge of SB on CD asap).
Use Intervene on a melee player so you do not move the enemies too much - Be sure to position yourself in a way that you do not rush through the pack of enemies you are fighting or you risk getting hit in the back.
To Charge mid combat use:
Heroic Leap->Charge
Shockwave -> run out -> Charge - Not always doable as stuns DR.
Soulshape -> Charge
Intervene to a ranged->Charge - this will lose you one 50% damage Revenge tho
Oh, how will IV be changed?
I just added explanation in the m+ section for Reprisal usage/talents etc .
It should be updated soon.
Ah alright
fear -> run out -> charge
Fear is kinda iffy tho. 😦
Top kek
Since it brakes so easily.
i always start running before i use it
Thank you @ionic fern
Oh kek, my group once pugged this tattman when I refused to do a key
seems to work most of the time

i get the song scatman in my head thanks to his name
Lmao
Smh..Covenant campaigns account wide when
Torghast Logs
JEah, but i got tiny dwarf legs.
DID
hmm seems like bigdebuffs and elvui unitframes is fixed
Is it just me finding reprisal frustrating? It's not the actual use of it, that's obnoxious but kinda entertaining, but finding all my movement shit on CD when I want to use it feels horrible.
Probably not only you.
It takes some getting used to and thinking ahead.
E.g if i know i have to kite i'll save Heroic Leap.
And just make use of INtervene etc
- i'm NF so i also got Soulshape.
👀
Then it feels bad then that I'm not getting as much out of the lego as I could be.
It's not like you save HEroic Leap for everything o.o
There's some specific packs you end up kiting.
Work hard, play harder
ANd you should know them more or less.
- just the base Charge and Intervene on CD is usually enough.
Especially if not running DT.
Mostly. It's when something goes wrong I find I don't have the tools I normally use to deal with it
Jeah, i get that. It can be frustrating.
I don't find myself Heroic Leaping a lot in dungeons for Charge tho.
There's usually a caster in the pack anyways that stands still.
So i just step like 2 steps back and charge to them
Not giving up stormbolt 😅 can we have gag order back please? Then I'd consider it.
This
Gotta use your head on some packs
Mmm, I'll keep at it. Still only managed 1 15 timed so far. Getting super tempted to jump ship to bear but don't think I actually could do it
Warriors is in a really good spot right now.
Just keep on going. 🙂
It'll get better.
Hi guys been playing fury/arms so been venth, wanting to know with the necro changes if Nec or Kyra is best to change to for Raid focus and M+ in spare time 🙂
if you prot as offspec no
if it's just in your spare time you'll do fine as vent
No sorry i meant i will be swapping to maining prot
just had the dps and the guilds shifted roles so i will be doing tanking 🙂
Sorry worded that real bad haha
banner (necro) is only really viable in organised groups, plus you lose out on your own damage compared to other covs, still enjoying it personnally though
otherwise the go to is nf or kyrian
The necro looks really nice for when i raid with the Coord as you said but i think M+ might not carry the same power. Apprently the mastery can screw peoples timers tho with necro
as it throws their CD's out
It's not as powerful as people hoped, overhyped it
You need to hold it very often to align it with others
It's just clunky
The gain isn't big enough to justify it outside of very specific scenarios imo
Thinking Kyra is also just a safe option with the heal flask
Has some good uses to facetank annoying packs more often
i think necro is only very powerful if you've got super coordiantion
it's very "passable" at best
^
in arena though 👀
It's solid in dedicated groups but nothing ground breaking.
thas proper gouda
PvP is dead.
your hair is ded
/cries
sounds like some other thing
Looks like you have a moehawk in that pic with the roof line xD
Mwahi cosplay when

TC is still kind of bad post-buff right
or rather - revenge is better aoe spam for sure
for damage its comparable : P
you'll almost never not press tc on cd though
if you're asking if revenge now higher than TC in damage then yeah, but like Mael said, TC is still going to be used pretty much on CD all the same
from BSC? Yep
well, yeah
It deals 20% more dmg!
^
Prio is still the same
TC on CD
nah i cant english
is owkei
meanwhile I’m hovering all my abilities to figure out which one is TC
cause I got 6am brain
theory crafter ofc
Taunt Cooldown
(it's thunder clap)
This is next level, on so many levels
Thermonuclear Catastrophe
Highmountain tauren charge, charge.
Priest pull coz you about to die, charge.
I wonder if HMT charge can stop you from getting exiled on NW last boss
Since force movement abilities can prevent you from getting gripped
Like lifegrip and warlock Portal
I am going to keybind it somehere nice and start bullrushing more on CD
Probably drops you out of the map like it can on rogues dance
Does it stop the HoA dogmasters from making their doggos go crazy?
anything that stuns should do it
wait you dont like giant friendly doggos
they just accidently claw u and u bleed
they just want hugs

One of my dogs has a habit of doing the same thing, overexitable furball that she it

Pretty much hoa doggos
Ideally, where do you want to craft Reprisal. Legs or Feet?
legs - if you do mythic SLG you can craft feet since you can get 233 legs but for the long term its probably better to do legs
err... i feel so embarrassed... i should stop playing prot and just go to smth simpler, like dk.. -_-
how come?
Anyone else struggled on nalthor? 4th boss in NW. Like taking too much damage
you blocking?
Are you using SB?
Yeah.. took me multiple runs of that place and multiple wipes to find out that i just need to keep up SB for the icy shard xD
Well..keeping SB up and dodging away from the storm is all you need to do in order to survive.
👀
Try not to waste a SB charge when he's about to cast the storm.
Literally jaina
The boss would be impossible for like 90% of tanks if it wasn't physical
It was impossible on beta when it was magic
Unless i made that up
Not sure
Is mythic slg hard on prot warrior? Compared to other bosses (or other tanks)
Both tank mechanics not being blockable sounds kinda rough
best tank for the fight
Because you take so much melee damage?
Or just because of intervene
Both i guess
Oh the goliath
That thing
Slaps my dh
Alright fair enough, checked log and it's 70%+ melee damage. pretty hard for the tank mechanics to be threatening if you just block all of the rest of the damage in the fight
It was blockable physical in alpha when they first released wake so...
Count them as extra ilvl
Gems are kinda weak atm so sockets are like 6 extra Ilvl?
Depends on slot
Yeh
And ilvl gives you more stam?
10-13ilvl on rings and neck, 7ilvl on wrists belt
3 ilvl on head
That's the worth of sockets
More armor more primary stat
@signal plover 🤡 ye i thought about it and realised i might have made that up
Ayyyy
people think halls of atonement is easy... it's literally my least favorite dungeon
It's easy if you're not the tank

HoA is running away from the dogs 90% of the time lol
I hate how the shard packs are spaced out and then dont move because they're casters
cant group them up
and then the dogs 🤮
I hate that the shards don't allow you to do different routes.
I do a decent amount of my runs with a friend that's a monk tank, man I am envious of ring of peace
There is 200% trash in that dungeon
how about.. sigil of chains
But 60% of the trash required to clear the dungeon is funneled into the shards
^
So you don't actually have alot of room to work with in terms of pulls you wanna do cuz you're so hard forced into the fucking shards
I hate halls as well, for that reason..the pride timings on first boss/etc are so jank because you have to kill 80% of the dungeon before you touch him basically.
yeah i pretty much always go for 80% completion at halkias and then invis skip up to the second boss
Except on non-Fortified weeks and then we wreck that shit with manly Shield Blocks.
I don't even hate the mobs that much; being dark iron dwarf and kyrian eliminates fear of the bleeds on the bears. There's tons of room for kiting (that I hate..but at least it's EASY in there).
In fact it's the casters that worry me more than any melee in there.
My usual route has a 4 caster pull before stealthing to second boss...yo it's dank.
and then the second boss is rough with the adds if they dont die fast
6 casters kek
Or if people don't stop attacking the adds to let them come into the center easier.
That's a hard lesson to learn in Halls as you get your ass beat into the ground.
Vang yeah that's what I do..wel it's 79.9% ? literally I think...then pull the 'non' stoned gargoyle up. (Remember boys if the key is fortified and angry enough; tank that last gargoyle near the pillar at top of stairs, and quick strafe LOS his swipe/claws cast)
You don't take damage, you don't get knocked back..that gargoyle goes from mad nasty, to absolute free regen time for mana/abilities
i just outrange it
You can do that too...I just tank him at the top of stairs near the ? whatever big square column/s on the right side..and just strafe behind the corner of the column when he casts it.
how do you get him to stop moving xD
He doesn't move if YOU don't move too far.
You bring him right up to the corner..and you just dodge around the corner of the column..he finishes swipe..you strafe back into his face.
he literally refuses to stand still for me
you're just going too far, OR..you're inside his hitbox and the ai is moving to re engage you at a 'proper' angle to face you.
you know what would be nice? If they matched the hitbox to the selection circle
the 'inside' his hitbox is why large modeled mobs move like ASSHOLES in raids; IE Sunking. Whenever a mob is a 'large' version of a normal sized/smaller model (scaled up) it scales up their hitbox size and it gets jank AF.
Anyone here venthyr and using Draven souldbind?
You sold out to vampire hookers?!?! (guessing you play dps as well)
So have we seen the great Bonelord Migration as expected or are we all still kinda split down the middle?
Yeah my guild's tank spots have been taken for like 4 years now lol
https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/character/eu/thrall/Huska
Hey guys, i am currently running 21% Haste and 29% Versa... Would you recomment to exchange the haste sockets to versa gems? (change haste food to versa food)
We've seen it. :) People are starting to realize that it's not as good/easy as they thought tho. :)
Hard to argue with more Haste. Stats seem pretty balanced in that situation. Depends on how you like to roll.
Xirek lots of people have switched and are enjoying it, but for a lot of folks it wasn't a huge bonus like they thought. I know pika was doing some keys last night and saying he was likely going to go kyrian next week because 'coordinating' banner even in very strong well oiled groups was just irritating and ultimately not super worth it (the MAJOR reason you went for necrolord). Which is the same feeling a lot of prots are getting about Reprisal...everyone is almost afraid to admit they kinda' really don't like how much busier it makes you, and takes you out of position, mobs out of position..for a small block window and not a 'huge' increase in actual blocktime IF you've dropped the bolster talent.
Frender I think most every really high key runner uses cardboard assassin...it's even made me consider dropping herbalism to get it.
I've found it very useful
You don't have engineering for the wormhole? 😮
I did one key with reprisal when it gave the 6 second block window...the 2 sec they took off I thought "bah..it's fine, 4 secs, on 2 charges and 1 intervene..that's TONS more block.." the reality is that 4 second 'nerf' really made reprisal feel/play a lot worse.
yeah you feel it for sure
When it gave the 6 sec block per 'activation' it was AMAZING.
I really didn't think losing 2 sec would be a big deal, then when I actually did real content with it only doing 4 sec block windows...it fealt a lot worse than I thought it would.
well there is not too much i can change. Still need to kite more the question is do i need ti kite less with more Versa or is the Haste reduction that bad because of less rage for SB and IP uptime as well as Revange spam
The nerf to 4 seconds didn't actually make it any less good, it just made it more obnoxious to play.
I can understand on the Necrolord angle, but Reprisal feels like old school Prot Warrior. The 6sec version was busted as it gave us 100% SB uptime, but when you couple it with other talents it's frigging amazing. Charge in, shield up, slap fools with Revenge and get extra rage on top of it. If you don't like being a pinball of death, then go back to the Wall.
Kiting meta sucks. Plain and simple. Tanks weren't meant to kite, we were meant to smack fools in the face.
agree i do like the reprisal a lot!
)The issue is; it IS worth the effort...but with a 4 second block window, and probably running double time (yet not always being able to use both charges on all bosses/etc) and trying to run AM instead of bolster..etc... You end up with a spec you're doing a LOT more work for, monitoring 2 additional abilities now and 'having' to use them to make use of your added defense.. it just feels like you're doing so much more micro management for "ehhh? it's ok?" type of results.
there are plenty of annoying circumstances on bosses with reprisal. like halkias if you acctidentally go for it when he slams. i intervened a buddy and he got chopped cus suddenly the slam is on him and not just me. i expect first in soa to be similar if the beam between boss and bird clips your team
I made weak auras to monitor intervene, charges..and leap where before It was just "use 'em when I need 'em, they'll be there" instead of "I NEED another intervene...I need to wait until the boastful blast (the X on prides) ...ok leap/charge.."
it's just..exhausting.
Reprisal is great. You just need to know the dungeon/pulls and pay attention to positioning. I have had 0 issues thus far and i really really enjoy the faster playstyle.
is dreamweaver a good soulbind for prot or are one of the other 2 better?
Where as, HONESTLY...seriously; you can run bolster and seismic reverb up into mid/higher teens and it be less to worry about and you'll do way more damage.
i agree. its a lot more to manage. i like it more than the wall so far but i dont like either when they bandage fix shit like comboing mobility with mitigtion. like pretend paladins got fire on the ground from divine steed full crsuader d3 style, serious dmg as well so you feel you need to use it to deal dmg. what then? you sac your mobility for dmg
It's obviously harder to play than other options but the benefits it brings are great.
Idk I've found that in most circumstances just the charge on pull and a mid pull intervene are enough to cover the SB, which either allows me to run storm bolt or save a leap/charge if a pack lives too long
Which is a small price to pay for playing AM
But IS it? like seriously ...I've had to stop looking at things through the "omg this used to be SO good..so I REALLY wanna go back to it" glasses.
and really look at what I'm gaining for dps, losing for management..etc.
You either play korayn with first strike, or you play niya with burrs
It is. Sw and avatar are not negligible CDs
And it's ..? eh? It's good, it's useful...it's way WAY overhyped. Like..beyond Chick Fil A levels of hype.
It's not overhyped. :)
I mean if you consider folks saying it's our best m+ legendary "overhyped" then shrug
It's got a noticeable benefit over other leggos at the start of each pull in a dungeon
As I said; it's worth it..but how much are you gaining? In what situations are you not able to utilize it fully, or is intervening to someone quickly getting you hurt..."oh you just have to watch" Ok now I gotta' watch for MORE shit as a prot warrior? ..that's what I'm saying.
sounds like user problem
If you dont enjoy it..dont play it. I gain a ton of damage/defensives/rage from it.
It's a game. If you want a easier managed Legendary just run The Wall or Seismic
The 6s version (which I know wasn't the intended one) lived UP to the hype, the 4s (intended) one.. is a lot more grounded and it's 'good' but the benefits vs the work to get it often times isn't fantatsic.
What work???? Pressing intervene once evry 30 seconds?
Id even go as far as to say that ppl overhype how difficult it is to manage
You gain like 20% more dmg by playing reprisal + am and a ton more guaranteed SB uptime
Ontop of a ton of rage
It's hyped for a reason
yes not broken at all
It is more management than other legendaries for sure but making it sound like a full time job is also wrong
You aren't wrong for enjoying it and feeling it's a nice upgrade to the way you played for a worthwhile upgrade in your block uptime. I think what my issue with it is; I got to play with it at it's pre nerf power...and that 2s more of block time per activation made that legendary VERY substantially better.
Before..for leaping/charging, intervening...and then playing normally; I was at INFINITY BLOCK. Now I'm not..but having to do all the same shit.
I'm used to playing BM hunter where our best legendary has us pressing 2 non damaging abilities mid-rotation...
Hitting charge and intervene to get reprisal to work is pretty basic imo
I think that's really where my 'deflated' opinion of it is coming from.
I mean that's fine
Mages are all in the same boat now; a lot of them spent money on race changes that they only needed for 1 day.
I just don't think it's necessarily fair to project that onto the benefits of the legendary and marginalize em
Why did mages race change?
The new leggo that's now their "BiS"
requires you to cast 'non' fire spells to get a buff to your damage.
Mages live for one thing, and one thing only now...outside of combust they are nearly worthless...like..almost literally.
Should I put Haste/Crit on Reprisal legs if I'm only doing m+
still go hase vers tbh if u start going to higher keys
if not go crit for the damage
So their entire existence is lining up trinkets/buffs/etc for combust. The new legendary gives you a buff that requires casting a frost spell and ? arcane? then fire...then it triggers. The void elf racial is a RANDOM chance to trigger a 'frost' effect (shadow frost, but coded as frost)
and every alliance mage, was void elf.
So that new legendary required them (if they wanted to..keep being competitive, like all dps wanna be) change to dark iron dwarf.
wat
DID can be a mage?
Think he ment void elf?
a bunch of them did....because it was ON a reset day when the new leggos hit. So that means...raid reset, new leggo...that means, you're changing INSTA when servers came up.
No I mean dark iron dwarf. (from void elf..TO dwarf)
Ooh.
TFW people pay 25$ for a 0.8% Increase in DPS.
So those same mythic raiding mages...were doing their mythic raid, and then that night..it got fixed.
Blizzard sure knows how to bait and switch
Ikarikaze...ANY serious competitive dps would do it. You know how much money is spent on world first races?
Yes, world first
which was done a long time ago
If you're not first, you're last.
serious competitive dps finished their stuff like 2 months ago
Yes..and people who are serious competitive dps, have the same mindset. Because they don't care if they aren't world firsting, because they can compete on parses just the same.
anyone else doing it is, essentially, "tryharding"
Lol one of our mages is a bald bitch gnome, the other is a panda and the other was VE and was getting triggered by the frost proc
This, anyone who is poneying up cash for a miniscule increase at this point is a chump.
Yeah sure...because that's how games are right? There's world champions...like..a few of them...then the other MILLIONS of players are all casual, don't care..don't really try right?
imagine paying 25$ for a sub 1% dps increase in a world 600 guild
You can say what you want, but I'm telling you a LOT of people did it.
That is basically how it is
Lemmings
Blizz would make $$$ by mega-buffing alliance races in the name of "faction-balance"
No..it's not how it is, stop being unrealistic. There's players that play at the same level of the world first players, all day..every day..but they're in world 400 guilds.
Its like a 5 year old using a safety pin to put a red towel around his shoulders and saying I"M SUPERMAN
Some people like to max out every detail of their class/spec... why does that make them dumb? Lol
wut
I mean paying the $25 on a patch day makes em dumb
If they played at the same level wouldn't they have finished Mythic sire months ago?
If they have the money to spend, and they get enjoyment from it then who cares? Lol
This is also a true statement.
You can say whatever you like about "nuh uh..streamer G-Eazy is so much better than ERRRBODY else" that's not what parses say. that requires a full dedicated MORE than 20 man roster to accomplish that man.
You can enjoy being dumb, I do it all the time
theres more to raiding in top 10 than parses
The point is this, and it's a fact.
but w/e
if they indiviudally play at that lvl but the rest of the raid may not so probably not
a bunch of alliance mages spent money, or tokens..or tons of gold...to race change for one evening of raiding. and then it got 'patched'
The worst part about M SLG prog is having to take the train emote off my intervene macro :*(
you can equate what skilled jimmy getting r1's in his wr 150 guild with timmy private logging in his wr 12 guild all day
Jakey, you've waved your dick in here about your parses on 'irrelevant' shit right? you're irrelevant because you're not world first?
No you play like crap because you aren't in world #1 guild right?
Tru
No..you play just as well as any top prot warrior
eh?
Jakey plays like crap he can't even beat nom on parses
Tru
buncha twats realy
Maybe someone has a better reaction time? slightly? But mostly it's how hard you really want to commit, and then the 'group' of people you're with to DO that.
Yo I am Da shit aite
you're a boomer bro
Fuq
your reaction time is gone
Your personal play is still at that level. There's lots of DPS players out there that really care about their performance even if they aren't in Limit.
its me
we're all boomers for wow standards
i literally have a t-shirt with a floppy disc on it that say never forget
am a boomer
Yikes
You're also confusing parsing with performance
☝️
You're confusing ANY of it, with how people actually 'are'.
Dude we had a hpal lie about his age on our app by saying he was over 18...but then later on he mentioned he was a sophomore in HS
parsing + performance = pp
Parsing isn't what makes you a WF or W200 player. Execution is.
the performance that is actually required from a tank is to live the fight
They ARE competitive. They have jobs, they don't care about 20 or 25 bucks..they CARE about the 1% damage.
i already have done that on sludge and waiting for my dps to do the mechanics so they can do the damage
i mean
hence im waiting for them to learn
some people care to not get vaccinated soooo
Yeah...guess what? me too jakey
the tanking part of that fight was solidified in a couple pulls, it's very easy.
the rest is "how can you miss that soak..AGAIN?"
i dropped the V bomb, everyone run
Maybe he's ape and got held back 2 years?
That was literally his planned excuse rofl
its not the soaks it the last chain they need to break it and ppl just stand there mongo dpsing
The point is..some people do care, weather they are in a top end organization or not, they're willing to drop 20 bucks for whatever reason.
i have fun on sludge tho playing reprisal is great fun
This class discord is way more interesting than the hunter one lmao
But he's a good kid so whatever
Can someone explain to me how Reprisal works on Sludgefist? I feel like I'm missing something. Intervening a DPS or charging back after stomp?
tbh i miss prepatch/beta
Autism
im making a vid so some peeps when i kill it but tdlr charges and stuff
You can charge after each stomp
yes
I Wouldn't zip to a DPS tho
I Mean you could
I'll be honest, I hated reprisal on sludge and wall (legendary) timings work REALLY well in that fight
yeah; you can get free uptime from the charges...I wouldn't recommend intervening ...and certainly not under 30% of his hp 😛
4% wipe
was the perfect pull
Right that makes sense
just have your co tank cancelaura
Oooooh that makes sense
doesnt work
(paw I still play wall on it; I don't have issue with block uptime on it running bolster..I'm not trying to dps parse on a fight the rest of the guild is trying to catch up to killing basically)
we tried it
Gdi
well then my co tank is a retard
I'd go with that
Haha
He hit arcane intellect!
My favorite part of sludge prog was the tank solo(duo?) soaking rubble like 300+ times and the getting flamed the one time per night we missed
As a paladin that'll OOM ya
nah i got him to macro it into his abilities
I know but I'm not putting that on him to monitor that and have to hit a cancelaura every time I'm trying to squeeze in 4 seconds of block; I'm just forcing my cotank to do more work for some minor convenience for me..that I ABSOLUTELY do not need.
Meanwhile our rdps stack had 8 ppl and would still somehow miss soaks
before or after his cast?
i dunno
Paw that's how tanking does always; you can literally be perfect for 90 pulls of prog..then after one night of 4 or 5 hours and you're tired and you just drop the keyboard...a huge spotlight hits you and everyone thinks "man ..that WOULDA been the kill but the tanks messed up in P2"
u dont need intervene tho tbh
just bind it to spacebar for the sco jumpers
Having your cotank cancelaura intervene is actual try harding lol love it
maybe he typed cancel aura with a space 😄
yeah..nope; you'd have still failed the mechanic you've failed literally 68 times already.
100% without so 🤷
Yeah "Why'd you taunt Sire at 3%! You caused him to TP for the knockback!!!!"
*checks logs
Paladin Co tank Bubbled himself at 3%
Sire jumped to me.
do you play with towely
IKR
Especially on sludge, it's monotonous. I did one pull where I just forgot to go soak the 'first' soak before the split even...was just dps'ing his foot then went "..OH ..godda..wipe"
🤮
SLG is a long progression ramp; but it's fine..it is what it is. That's raiding in "not" seriously competitive guilds. like 8 people are tryhards who pay 20 bucks to get 1% more damage...the other people don't prepot.
lol yeah I have.
been prot since..forever
Remember when IP wasn't reduced by his healing debuff
good times
single tanking
varimathras was as close to a patchwerk as has been in the last few years.
Dude I actually fell asleep on this boss even on Mythic lol.
...There has only ever been prot warrior... I've never logged in and seen anything else. Ever.
We were so cheesemode in Antorus
'Who didn't run plague out"
Yeah but tanks didn't do that shit
it's literally taunt when x...maybe...sometimes
(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
i liked vari we killed him then went and killed council on the same night on attempt 4
Da fuq
yer
I'm just glad to be through council...council is like mythic Guldan. it's like 8 mins of everyone doing garbage crap...that they fail..still; THEN the fight starts and they ..STILL fail.
we were like the fuk
are +15 "higher keys"? xD
At least sludge is ...2 mins "oh you fucked up a soak..cool...respawn, go"
not really no
Higher keys are 19+ imo
high is relative tho
it is till u get to final phase wipes then it gets annoying
Sludge prog was very chill
☝️
I only have problems with +15 when we are carrying someone, like a 3k overall dps
kit strengths and weaknesses
shit just doesn't die fast enough
well lets be fair for some people 5s are high keys
Sameowell 15's are considered the 'goal' everyone is intended to be able to get to...towards the END of the tier. (yes you can do it way earlier..etc..but this is how the devs tune it)
Ah
"high" keys is where the cracks in class design start to show
Some ppl take a rip of the devil's lettuce and all keys are high keys
Mythic Guldan was easier, than heroic IMO, right until you hit "Don't blink or you'll miss it"
So we gucci doing 15's consistenly
yes
IE "keystone master" mounts are supposed to be a 'bit' of a challenge if people want to get them, towards the end of the tier. So that's why 15's are often not thought of as really 'difficult' or higher keys.
ngl that was christian af
Bless you son
but i'm muslim
Keys are 90% paths and not having flipperhanded monkeys for DPS
Shalom
you need to inshallah me
Oops
damn
Threw you a bit of a curveball
Yes but the tank knowing the right path, DPS not being awful. and NOW a days the healer not being awful due to pride/bosses/etc... that's legitimately a tall order for your average pug group (average wow player)
Or as they say in the home country, a kurvaball
That's not..being overly critical or toxic, that's just a fact of the playskill of the average player in wow.
I rather do SD +16 than plaguefall 14
Pugging keys...lower keys open the door to levels of cancer you legitimately never thought possible.
Legit pugged a Hpriest that had 1200 io for a 14 PF, died twice on the first boss and left. Pug healers is a nono
Seriously go post up a '10 plaguefall' see what kind of 9th circle of hell bad melee dps you get trying to chase down a phial trinket.
in a sit on a chair made of broken glass type of fun
dry humping a cactus fun
anal play with cacti
Go on
balsawood slide in short shorts
This is the way we describe PUG fun.
lmao true
Then you get the "why are tanks always such assholes...and toxic" Because we're expected to know every mechanic, build the routes..tank the boss int he raid, keep it in the right spot for people to dps..etc...do EVERY mechanic right or ..it's a wipe, in a dungeon or raid .... And all we want you to do is like...INTERRUPT THAT SHIT MANNNNN
JUST KICK..ONCE >>...EVERRRR
.../rips hair out
+15 DoS had to remind a 219 hunter that tranq shot is a thing.
no, i dont think its tanks that are toxic tbh, (well i am) but thats only when ppl are toxic to me first like blaming my route to be shit when the dps body pull and fuk it up and act like its my fault
all roles have toxic people. surprise.
everybody is toxic
Legit back to the point where I can point at the DPS meters and be like "WHOS SHIT? MR.IGOTBEATBYTHELOWESTDPSTANK"
i mean
There's just zero tolerance for tanking, you do it bad...everything collapses. The same can be said about other roles as well but they have gradients; You can get 'by' with not great dps in the vast majority of content. You can get 'by' with healers not being fantastic ...as our mythic raid progress is absolute factual proof of...
Is there a good Spell Reflect Weak Aura, that says wich spell is reflectable ?
you can always scumbag pulls to make yourself look good
But if tanks don't know their job on a fight..poof...it's over.
Ther's one but idk how up-to-date it is @rich helm
there is a spreadsheet
pins (or faq, idr)
the wa marok made should be up to date
im not asking for a spreadsheet
You can't bumrush a tank in m+ 14 keys for chests, it's painful
i just pump then dps are like have they buffed warriors?? or never never seen a warrior tank like this before.
then u hit them with the nah im just good 😎
The only place you get 'by' with tanks being poorly played is very weak content...where strong healers can literally just PUSH you through the death you should have had by failing every taunt mechanic.
meanwhile as a dps you can do it pretty easily even if he has no clue wtf to do
Does it track only ones you are targeted?
I took Mwahi's advice and pull like a slacker until they pop CDs and then the next pull I go full mongo and slap avatar/IQD/AA
thanks, tbh i didn't click the link yet cuz I'm at work so thank you for your patience x
But as far as pugging keys, even mid teens+ like..17's+... "do you know how LOS works on mobs that fixate and attack you, regardless of a threat table?" "why do I see the interrupts on the mage and shaman healer...never being used..ever...ever?"
anyone manage to charge back in for sludge with a dh co tank?
yep
becuase big pump
TBH Shaman healers are legit normally my #1 interrupt
yer
all the time
do they leap or do you just give them a headstart
@uneven mason this is what I say as a healer main too. im dead scared of puging tanks tbh
Rectooor my cotank is a bear, I let him walk a few feet ahead of me (like give him 1 sec or so..) then he skull bashes and I charge.
they just walk
no
the chain is 12 yards
once they are in range 12 yards from boss just charge
@uneven mason I feel like communication between tank and healer is essential for a good run
thought 10 on mythic?
maybe
no
i think its 10
Same deal with DK, if you have a DK cotank, let him walk a few yards ahead of you, then you can charge in to boss..and you'll never have been over the 12 yard threshold to break the chain.
its 12
doesnt matter ither way
¯_(ツ)_/¯
let them walk ahead of u
yeah either way
if your that worried so they are closer
i really want to run reprisal
you can; nothing says you can't.
the dh was leaping in when i was charging and it was snapping chain so i dropped it
but if they dont leap should be fine
As the other guys pointed out earlier; you can even have the other tank cancel aura the intervene if you want to use the intervene (you can still take a double melee from it insta before he cancels though) IF they're willing to coordinate that with you.
i was planning on intervening the other tank to fill in sb gaps
you can; true...a lot of other players honestly get WAYYY too close to tanks on sludge, when you're moving positions for pillars...running away from the stomps..etc.
murdered a DK a few times because they some how managed to get in front of the boss.
i havent tanked it with reprisal yet, and i was being a parse monkey with the wall/bolster and having a few gaps
I feel that its my job as raidleader to step on top of them to teach them a lesson
hello guyz, starting to war proting around, there are any compelled faq for the spec ?
Since I'm still kyrian/pelagos...I still have to get the FKN orbs...god I hate them~ But of course..in the second I'm getting an orb..a mage manages to blink?! in..or something? I don't think it was part of a chain pull, it could have been? but my spear is long gone by chain pull... But he got insta clapped.
We were like "..? how? in the 1 sec I moved 4 yards to get an orb..you managed to get next to the other tank? Like..WHAT?"
But yeah a mage got deleted on a pull and he says "uh? I died to..."giant fists"??" how?
I AM the OT
I have tricks AND MD going to the bear.
so I can get orbs for free.
100% yes
I was pulling aggro due to burst..even over the tricks/md...so I dropped booming and went with dragon roar.
and as im reprisal i get 2 avatars in execute
mage get bonk
He ran through the tank after chain slam or got blown back by a roar
so I went Droar to smooth damage out, so my opening bursts wouldn't take aggro so I could get orbs clean.
people always forget these types of mechanics
at least last time on fetid you had a giant fuck you room to maneuvre in
lol
Because there's some Xmog in there that matches the color scheme of the mythic nathria plate set
We had just..rando people in there, on super low geared alts..etc. (normal mode Uldir)
But even on normal mode uldir..we forgot about the stupid hydra head attack on fetid.
The sword from there is pretty cool yeh
does it actually match?
Normal is the red one?
uldir had some sick weapons
shield mogs that look good, and work well with Dark iron dwarf, and that nathria set...are limited.
No, normal colors is yellow
Mythic nathria armor is black and copper/gold'ish
so yellow stuff matches it nicely.
The helm I'm running is actually LFR dragonsoul helmet.
m uldir is the red/bronze one
The mythic is like beeg gold
You wouldn't htink it mages..but it matches PERFECTLY
dragonsoul had shit tmog don't @me
you can hate....and I agree; I never wanted dragonsoul plate.
TRU @brittle owl
Until I was looking for stuff to match the black/gold look of mythic nathria set.
And the LFR dragonsoul helm, was perfect.
Yeh M nathria is dope but a hard match
thats where u steal Nomes tmog @fringe marten
the only thing that is passable from dragonsouls as plate are the warrior shoulders
rest are garbo
Dragonsoul still has one of the top 2h mogs too...you know this to be true, search your feelings~
nah
best 2 handers are in hyjal, BT and OG ashkandi
Ashkandi looks like 4 polygon trash.
its the best trash
BUT! mog is ..literally personal taste so..that's cool.
it shows refinement
the only old old school mog I can still stomach is the..? the oversized 1hander from Onyxia?
it's like like a super fine wine
you know what it is...errybody knows what it is.
But yeah; for matching mythic nathria plate... Normal mode uldir's yellow weapon/s (the sword from mythrax, and even the 1h axe from fetid...and shield from Ghunn)
👋 🎤
just run the set and steal the chest from nome @fringe marten
i wish i could mog it with the hidden artifact shield
you what?
I have that sword, and that shield is what I'm using right now (if it's the one with the yellow gem in it)
what's wwrong with panda
u can change the sheild mog if u want
That sword looks horrible with that set..just saying.
everything
My warrior wants a swird back so I can trsnsmog back to my lovely TF
Huh
You can tmog every weapon we can wield with TF
I'm using a..? not sure what it is...it's a large spiked morningstar mace...with uhh? Sunfire..? enchant? and that heavily horned/spikey looking artifact shield you're using with the yellow gem in it (the edges of shield color match better than others)
the fury one is not bis
It is
normal jaina
I generally don't care for swords...they're never thick/wide enough. Blades are wide but..vertically wide. so the character still doesn't round out properly...on dark iron dwarf I like maces generally; One of the best maces in game is the ? Monsoon mace from blackrock foundry.
^
Eww
that one ye
So fucking ugly wtf
its literally bis
It's Hella trash
you're excrutiatingly german
It's so bad
wheres the 2 h?
Not a single colour fits
You gotta' get a good balance of width on weapon/shield to make dwarf look good. and you cannot..EVER ..use any of the 'large' boot models. And belt is key, a good belt makes a dwarf xmog.
your haircolor is trash
You love me shut up
Is Vic trying to legit kill us? dude..those gloves, the off colored swords?
😡
oh

yeah sorry about my mog
Like..that's ...so bad it's making my stomach hurt.
