*New to Prot If mastery increases chance to block and chance to crit block, why is it listed as last stat in EVERY guide. Wouldnt you be trying to stack Vers/Mast gear for defense?

Ideally you're in shield block at all times when tanking mobs so the increased block chance is kind of a non-factor
other than that crit block is just unreliable, but don't get it twisted, all of our secondaries are good
Mastery is particularly good when you're taking just a whole lot of regular blockable attacks, and it's a big boost to our damage since it increases our attack power
Honestly, it's less about following a strict stat priority and more about just knowing what your stats do

You're never going to be able to get enough haste to get 100% block uptime so you're going to want to rotate through your cooldowns to cover gaps in shield block
That's why the bolster talent is so good

Like if I'm at 7,000/10,000 will the add be the same as being at 14,000/20,000 -- or will it always be the same because I'm at 70%

Even just looking at the extra healing received, I'm usually doing like 1.8k self-healing in a key
.4% of 1800 is 72 which is already coming close to the maximum value of the revitalizing jewel
And obviously you're taking external healing on top of that and taking damage
Just a quick napkin math assessment, though, I'm sure someone will come along and tell me that's not how numbers work

Any have both a DH and Warrior tank, and actually notice any performance difference? Got my all 15s done this week as prot warrior and can't say I was particularly troubled. Never played DH though, so always curious if DH would of actually been easier to do that, or if its all just hype. I do have a BrM, at similar ilvl to my Warrior - and he gets trucked compared to Warrior - even if he can kite better

VDH is tankier and has more damage, but it wont suddenly feel easier, you will still have to kite 50%+ of the time as VDH

in raid you can play whichever you prefer AM or Bolster, im running perma AM
necro has high potential be it in m+ and raid if you play specifically around it, if youre just gonna casual play and not min max the living fuck out of necro banner, youre better of playing kyrian/NF 100%

Unless you're consistently, and effectively maximizing the benefit of the mastery buff on other people, I think you'll get more value out of another covenant. Like think about first tank Pelagos, right, You're getting a 13 second 350 mastery buff on a 1 minute CD vs Necro banner which is 400 on 2 minute, without the added value of the banner buff on your allies, Pelagos is just better

even at max its only a 7k dmg hit
if you dont take a single point of damage
to get good value out of the 20k absorb, youd need to take over 100k dmg in 12 seconds

I use my spear independently from Avatar so I have an emergency rage generator if i need it. I used to use spear in avatar for the damage but I ran into the same issues. I have low haste but since doing that my rage gen is rarely an issue.

Yeah I feel like my haste is really low as well. I am at 13% haste. I tried doing a 14 tirna scithe the other night with into the fray opposed to ravager and still ran into the same issues.
