hey guys - I asked this question the other day but didn't get a reply - maybe someone here knows the answer - according to Wowhead guide, when it comes to gearing Sockets are valued higher than haste for example. This seems to imply that an item with a socket that you can gem haste into (even if the stats are not desirable) is better than an item with desirable stats (haste/vers) is this really the case?
