See if you're actually interested, mandarin & korean both use a denomination of 10k (that i don't have on my keyboard) for counting big numbers. Say the denomination is x so you'd write like "5x" and it'd mean 50,000. So when they got into western games which did units in sets of three 0s instead of four like they were used to, they just started using the western k as the stand-in, rather than converting it. So k = 000, kk = 000,000 etc, because m=million doesn't really exist in those languages so you just write 100x (where x=10k)

I think I just got aggro about getting flamed and was looking for some sort of validation about how much the packs hurt but you guys have given me some insight in general about doing content of this level

The best way to handle it is to ignore any words from flaming that aren't directly related to content and what was done in it. If there are those words, think about what you yourself could have done, and whether it's valid. Words that aren't related to the content are just wastes of time to consider and come from butthurt, but you can often still find ways to improve

And if you ever don't have the answers to what you could have done and if it was valid, you can always ask

heres an example:
if a pack is going to take 3 mins to kill, and you pull pack by pack, with a total of 5 pulls, youre gonna have a 3min x 5 pull situation = thats 15 mins

if a pack is taking 3 mins to kill and you make the pull bigger, your efficiency skyrockets saving you time

thats how keys have always been done

thats why bosses are often combined with pulls as well

Don’t greed too much on the number of casters in your overall big pull, 3 it’s start to get tensed for pugs already sometime

some mobs are also more efficent to kill than others

snakes in AA for example are extremely inefficent so they are often skipped

its too little count for the time spent, etc, they have way too much health and so forth

It's also important to make sure you're doing efficient pulls; it doesn't really help that much to combine packs that will stagger for too long due to differences in HP in a lot of cases without chain pulling, since you were going to be gated by the high HP mob anyway. This is loosely part of why trash is often pulled into bosses, since bosses are really just a mob with a shit ton of HP

Generally things will go faster the bigger you pull, though, since you'll get more damage out from the AOE/cleave/etc, though it's important to note the higher HP mobs that will end up effectively gating your progress, slowing you down

That's why ST DPS is really important in highest level keys to still have, since bosses got a lotta HP, you have to fight them, and they're generally ST

Hiya, new to prot, hoping someone can help. Pretty much main concern is m+. Debating between a myth solarflare prism or myth boots and converting to night ender boots from vault (I'm behind on sparks for crafting because originally crafted a 2h wep before commiting to prot, have now crafted a 1h wep and will likely do shield this week). I see a decent amount of the top m+ prot warriors are running solarflare prism but I wasn't sure if that's just because it's early or not and limited options. Simming surprisingly looks like boots would be more dmg but I don't know much about other factors since being new to prot. It also mentions the sim being inaccurate for prot 🤷‍♂️

If you’re not going into mythic raid, then boots are a fine pick. Prism is a fine trinket, I took one myself this week. Follow the robot for those kinds of decisions though
