Hello folks. I am 247 on my Prot War. AFAIK I am doing the standard rotation. But I feel squishy. Is it just because it's early in the season? I have just been taking item level for main stat upgrades. Once I start focusing on secondaries with in get better? At the end of TWW I simply couln't die. I was alway the last to die in a wipe. Usually by jumping on an edge. But damn it feel rough right now.

Going into a new pull, if you have shield block up, you’re likely going to be hitting charge, thunder clap, shield slam, etc which will push you into using IP so you don’t overcap

The point is that by playing Protection Warrior correctly, you won’t have to actively think about or manage your IP, it will naturally manage itself

As such, an IP bar is often redundant information that people focus too much on and end up neglecting other important things, like proper SB management

If you really want to use it, go for it. But we’re not going to recommend it

Hello! I am a Prot Warrior, Delve/M+ player only (no raids), I'm 250 i-level, 259 crafted weapon and shield, all my gear is 1/6 Champ, 2/6 Champ or 3/6 Champ with one Hero piece (Trinket),

Couple of questions:
Why can't I convert my vet crests into champ crests? I literally can't use them on any piece of gear?
Is there anything else I could/should do outside of raids to get my i-level up now? Or am I prepped for M+ next week?

and it will tell you how much dps your character can do

its nessecary for mythic raiding

to ensure you are doing optimal dps

probably a bit of a stretch, i would wager if you just equip haste crit/vers gear and the best trinkets you have from the wowhead tier list and enchanged on the consumables using wowhead build you're gonna be extremly close to optimal and wouldn't need to sim. we all just love to crunch the numbers and go fuck yeah, 0.4% upgrade now i can finally do damage

Am I missing something? I’m running my pro warrior in raid, and I usually set the other tank as my focus. I used to track my focus debuffs so I can monitor tank Buster mechanics however, that doesn’t seem to be working for me anymore. How are we tracking these tank busters now?

first time i tried that boss on LFR the tanks just refused to move the boss out of a controlled space so we couldnt do any damage

so I have a couple hours now playing prot. Got some amazing tips here from @lusty grotto .

If I understand it correctly now, basically playing around shield block properly is the absolute most important thing. It's the majority of my tankiness.

I have a little bit of self healing here and there, Impending Victory, IP, and some random little talents with some healing in it, but its all about shield block.

If feels like when I use that correctly, I'm nigh invulnerable. If i fuck around at all and get lazy with it, I'm kinda squishy. That sound about right?

I had another tank that was intentionally trolling LFR on first boss, saying "GG" and then not taking his circle to the add 🙁

But does the boss actually get dmg reduction etc from being close to stuff on LFR and N, I though tthat was H only.

cool. glad I understand. I have to say it is a pretty engaging and fun mechanic. it does worry me a little for dealing with aoe and spell dmg. I guess spell reflect is key there (so another thing to start being mindful of). not sure about aoes though

First thing I see is you're not hitting Shield Charge enough

2 times over the course of a 5:45 fight is really bad

You're also not keeping Shield Block up

So you're losing a ton of damage there
