The hidden appearance being up is specific to your character. Also you still need to go into the cave for the macro to be useful (if you didn't know). The only use the macro has is as a double check in case you didn't see the emote.

I've now had 2 different +21 ara kara attempts brick because one of the spider adds in the first boss fixates me after some CC's go out on the adds.
Every single time I do that fight the same way, I shockwave the adds when they spawn to just alleviate some damage, and extremely rarely do they swap onto me as the tank.
I can't tell if it's coincidence and something else is causing it, or what. Does anyone have insight?

Don’t shockwave too early and make sure you don’t overlap 2 stuns? Had it happen once when a DH used nova right after my shockwave and it expired before it. Yes, you can’t use any fears et cetera but that shouldn’t really matter

You should also always be aware of aoe cc’s going out, and take some steps back/kite. It syncs all melee swings up in a single tick, very good practice to backpedal when u see

I was a captain in my schools jrotc program. It's not just cosplay. I live next to Ft. Campbell and we did things with the actual Army. I did parking detail for the opening of the veterans cemetary. Had to do a speech for the post commander. Obviously it'll give you an increased opportunity to get into certain ROTC programs and military academies like West Point. If you go straight in the military after high school instead of college you go in as an E-3 instead of an E-1.

Battle stance is not used outside of raid parsing and would have negligible effect even if you did swap. If dps are peeling off you in execute range then you're doing something fundamentally wrong. There shouldn't be stragglers that late into a pull.

Our threat mod is like 1000%; there's no reason outside of a massive burst immediately on pull on a mob you're not attacking that someone would peel off you. If that happens, that's just a let them die situation. A somewhat more common possibility being reaper's mark from a dk if they're using it/focusing on a non-prio target.

Losing aggro is not normal. Mages shouldn't need to invis/mirror to prevent ripping as they also have to surpass threat by 30% if they are more than 10 yards away (which they typically will be) and that's on top of you having a huge threat mod.

Not necessarily. Your thunder clap hits for a lot less than their aoe ability most likely. That's why you have to consistently deal damage to hold threat and why the start of combat is the most likely time you'll lose threat

What you can do as a tank is to plan your pulls in a way that the mobs have to go through you to get to someone. So like you don't need to go to each pack that you're pulling. You can just heroic throw a mob in it and let it come to you.

hamstring/rend/slam, there's some abilities like berserker's rage you very rarely press, probably more but as prot you just have a lot of keybinds between your damage, defensives, cc, taunts, etc.
if you're really new and just want the bare minimum while you're practicing you really just need revenge/thunder clap/shield slam/execute for your main rotation and avatar/demoralizing shout/shield charge for your DPS cds
and sprinkle in all your movement/CC/utility as you get used to keybinds
